Chapter 49: Flashback

In the dim light of their meeting place, Gabriel and Uriel exchanged uneasy glances. It was clear they had underestimated Alastor, unaware of the darkness that had plagued his past. Feeling the weight of their actions, Gabriel spoke first, his voice edged with regret.

"Alastor, we owe you an apology," Gabriel began, his tone laced with sincerity. "We acted rashly, not knowing the burdens you carry. We judged you without understanding your struggles. For that, we are truly sorry."

Uriel, her eyes reflecting genuine remorse, chimed in, "We were blinded by our mission, unaware of the pain you've endured. Please accept our apologies. We should have approached you differently."

Alastor regarded them both, his gaze holding a mixture of weariness and acceptance. In that moment, he recognized their sincerity. Despite their initial animosity, he saw the genuine remorse in their eyes. With a subtle nod, he acknowledged their words.
