"Where were you?" Sydney yelled when I walked into our room, "Violet said that you run off with Ascelin."
"I was," I blushed laying my head against the door biting my bottom lip.
"Oh my gosh, I thought you didn't like him?" Sydney said running over to me grabbed my arm and pulled me over to the bed, "you have to tell me everything, I cannot believe my best friend left school to hang out with a boy."
"I never said I didn't like the kid," I said twirling my finger nervously, why can't I stop smiling.
"So you did have a crush on Ascelin, I knew it!" Sydney screeched excitedly. Why is she so happy about me being with a boy? "Where did you guys go, come on Noelia you have to tell me everything."
"He kissed me," I blushed covering my mouth hiding how giddy I was. Sydney jaw dropped, eyes widen, staring at me so stunned that she couldn't even speak.
"I'm about to cry..." Sydney said whipping her eyes turning away from me and I laughed, "I can't believe this is happening. My best friend is about to have the hottest boyfriend at this school."
"I don't know about all of that," I giggled getting up and walked over to my dresser to find me something to sleep in.
"Girl, you haven't stopped smiling since you got here and clearly Ascelin likes you, so where else can this relationship goes?" Sydney said laying down in her bed, "I can't wait for tomorrow."
"He's really sweet, Sydney," I said thinking about us cuddling on the couch.
"That boy loves you. You're the only person he looks at, speak to, smile to, and hang around other than his squad. Why is it that he likes you so much?"
"We met before... when I was younger, several times," I said turning to her, "somehow I can't remember it but he remembers every single detail."
"Really? Wow, you don't find that creepy?" Sydney asked and I laughed.
"Believe me, I do, but I also can't shake off this weird connection I feel towards him. I feel safe when I'm around him, like I can say or do whatever I want and he wouldn't pass judgment on me," I sighed going to the bathroom and turned on the shower before walking back out, "like you."
"Hopefully he doesn't turn out to be a douche bag because I really don't want to have to mess up his pretty face," Sydney said and I laughed.
(Next day)
"What are you doing?" Sydney asked walking into our room in her school uniform.
"Oh just waiting for first period to start," I mumbled throwing a ball in the air.
"Are you trying to avoid him?"
"No, I wasn't hungry for any breakfast and I just decided to lay in bed until school starts," I said shrugging my shoulder nonchalantly.
"Fine, I'll change the subject, when are your mom and brother coming in?" Sydney said flopping on my bed and I smiled.
"Sometime tomorrow morning, I can't wait to see them, it has been so long," I said setting up on my bed.
"I can't wait to see your brother," Sydney said.
"Stop, I don't want to hear it."
"Are you going to tell them about Ascelin..."
"Absolutely not, there's nothing to tell," I said shrugging my shoulder getting up. I can't possibly tell mother anything about Ascelin because then she will go back tell dad, and dad isn't a person to mess with and vowed to my birth parents that no one will hurt or remotely get close to me.
Don Crewman is a scary man if he wants to be, when I first met the man that was going to be my father I was scared at first because he was this tall, built, handsome with dark black eyes that just pierced into your soul and make you feel weak.
I was scared of him the first couple of weeks but after he set me down and explained to me that he thinks of me as his daughter and that he promised my parents that he will take care of me, and he wouldn't allow anyone to hurt me. Then that day forward Don acted like a true father to me, and that's when I knew that I didn't have to be scared of him anymore and that I can trust him.
"Ok, I get it, but I still don't know why you so press about this," Sydney said getting up, "you like a guy, so what." Ascelin is not just any guy here, he's a vampire. A vampire that somehow I once love in some type of way. A vampire that I feel had probably been watching over me since I was little. I don't know the whole story, but to be honest, I'm afraid to find out.
Knock! Knock!
Sydney and I both turned to look at the door, and I had a good feeling that it was him. I look back over at Sydney to see her smiling before nodding her head to the door.
"Are you going to answer that?" Sydney giggled and I rolled my eyes before walking over to our bedroom door. I opened up to see Ascelin on the other side of the door and I couldn't stop the smile from forming on my face.
"Rose, are you trying to avoid me?" He said crossing his arms over his chest leaning up against the door frame and my eyes widen.
"Uhmm..."
