Despite what he told Eva, John didn't have much time to look into the matter of Billy Thornton/Will Sheffield because he needed to find a job. The money from the book would only last him so long given the cost of living in the Bay Area.

Nathan refused to do any favors without getting paid so John needed the promise of a paycheck coming in soon. It had been so long since he job hunted that it was more difficult than he remembered.

Being somewhat of a local celebrity was a drawback too. People recognized him from his interview on the local news or the inside back cover of his book. Potential employers were hesitant to hire someone so controversial.

He should have known this would happen but he really hadn't anticipated the book being so polarizing! He was beginning to regret writing it at all.
