Chapter 6: Chapter 6

Finally, he arrived at the door of a small, dilapidated shop with a peeling gold sign that read, "Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C."

In the dusty window next to the door, a single wand lay on a faded purple cushion.

When Albert opened the shop's door, he found a man in a suit inside, accompanied by his daughter, who was trying out a wand. The girl looked familiar.

Before he could even think, Albert heard the man say to his daughter, "The wand didn't choose you again."

The girl with curly, orange hair replied, "Alright, let's try another one."

Before Ollivander, the shopkeeper, could reach for another wand, Albert, standing behind them, said, "Give her that box above your head. It'll definitely choose her."

Albert spoke up because he saw a faint spark of magic emerging from that box and moving towards the girl. Albert called such things magic sparks or traces of magic, and although he wasn't entirely sure if these traces meant what he thought they did, he didn't mind showing off a little in front of the girl. Even if he was wrong, after all, he was just a child who could do such things without much embarrassment.

Ollivander responded, "Oh, alright, let's see. It certainly meets the standard specifications."

He opened the box and took out the wand, but it slipped from his hand and flew straight towards the girl.

The man standing beside the girl was astonished by this phenomenon and said, "This is unbelievable." Ollivander, still watching the girl, replied, "I've seen stranger things."

The girl said, "I feel something... something I can't describe, but I think the wand suits me."

Ollivander nodded. "Yes, I've been making wands for decades, and I still don't fully understand them. They are indeed a mystery. All I can tell you is to take good care of your wand, and when the time comes, it won't let you down."

"I'll make sure of that, Mr. Ollivander."

The girl turned to Albert, extended her right hand to shake his, and said, "My name is Hermione Granger, and I'm a first-year student at Hogwarts. You?"

Albert extended his right hand to shake hers and replied with a smile, "My name is Albert Black, and I'm also a first-year student at Hogwarts."

Hermione beamed, "Oh, so we'll be in the same class!" She smiled even more brightly when she realized that Albert was the same age as her.

Ollivander was taken aback when he heard Albert mention the name "Black," and he took a step back.

Ollivander wanted to say something, but he felt his tongue stick to the roof of his mouth, rendering him speechless.

The man, who was Hermione's father, spoke up, "I'm this girl's father, Brown Granger. We're new to the wizarding world, so please, take care of my daughter at school."

Albert smiled and said, "Don't worry, sir. I'll look out for her."

Hermione squeezed her father's hand and whispered angrily, "What are you saying, Dad? Worry about yourself! I know perfectly well how to take care of myself."

After a few minutes, Brown Granger handed over six Galleons to Ollivander, and he and his daughter left the shop.

Once Albert was sure the father and daughter had left the shop, he raised his finger towards Ollivander and said, "Surgetio," restoring Ollivander's tongue to normal.

"Sorry about that, but you were about to tell them about my father, weren't you?"

"How can you use magic without a wand? This is the second time I've seen such a feat. Yes... Dumbledore must be truly pleased to know this."

"Sorry about that, you were about to

Albert said, "Don't change the subject, sir. Why did you want to tell them about my father?"

Ollivander responded, scratching his head in embarrassment, "Oh, sorry about that, it was an involuntary reaction. After realizing you're his son... I should have known at in first glance. You resemble him greatly, except you're... more handsome, haha. Your father was quite a troublemaker, and personal grooming was the last thing on his mind, haha... Oh, I'm sorry."

"No worries. So, could you hand me that box up there on the top right?"

Ollivander said, "That box? It's been here with me for decades. Although it's a powerful and well-balanced wand, it's very difficult to master. Do you think it will choose you?"

Albert smiled and said, "I bet it will."

Ollivander was genuinely impressed by the boy in front of him. It's rare to find this level of self-confidence and charisma in children his age.

Ollivander took out a 13-inch wand and handed it to Albert. As soon as it touched his hand, the wand emitted a warm, comforting beam of crimson light that filled the entire shop.

Ollivander looked at Albert with a mix of suspicion and intrigue as he asked, "Could you tell me how you know which wand will choose its owner?"

"It's just a hunch, nothing more."

Ollivander, still unconvinced, replied, "Don't underestimate me, boy. I haven't lived all these years for nothing. If it had happened once, I might have believed you. But twice in a row, in a shop with hundreds of wands that's more than just a hunch."

Albert said, "Well, it's your choice believe it or not."

Albert paid for the wand and its accessories, then left the shop.
