Chapter 4: Beautification potion
Snape recited the original recipe of the temporary potion,
The Recipe of a Beautification Potion:
1) Grind the wings of three fairies and add to cauldron.
2) Stir slowly, and then add morning dew.
3) Stir vigorously, then heat the mixture.
4) Find a single fresh rose. Pluck seven petals and add to cauldron.
5) Chop the dried Lady's Mantle and add to cauldron, then stir.
6) Add a lock of unicorn hair and stir vigorously.
7) Add powdered ginger root and then heat.
8) Lastly, wave your wand over the cauldron to finish the potion
And then he remembered the enhancements he had made for the potion itself.
1) Take a beautification potion and mix the tears of three pixies to a drop of morning dew and add it to the cauldron.
2) Stir slowly, and then add the piss of a dragon so as to stabilize the potion.
3) Stir vigorously, then cool the mixture alongside the bulb of an ice jade flower.
4) Find a nightshade flower and Pluck 11 petals and add them to the cauldron while it's still cooling.
5) Chop the dried Lady's Mantle and add to cauldron, and then stir once more.
6) Add a lock of unicorn hair and stir vigorously.
7) Add powdered mandragora root and then heat.
The potion consists of a lot of technical steps, and he would be lying if he said he had found it on his own. It was the marauders that gave him the idea of using dragon piss and the Mandragora root. anyway, an hour had passed since the potion had been set for cooling.
Upon seeing a wisp of fog coming from the potion Snape drank it, not hesitating to gulp it down, and would have drank the bottle too if he hadn't been careful.
