Chapter 5: 4. "Enemy's to Friends"
first I'd rather have an enemy who admits that they hate me than a friend who secretly puts me down.

Zara's POV:
After fighting with that bloody skeleton I was seriously exhausted and it was creepier to see a skeleton coming out of the ground. But I was confused by the way Clary looked at me I felt chills down my spine but I did not show it outside.
Clary advanced on me with a sword, I ducked down to avoid the sword since I was exhausted and confused I did not focus on the dagger that she had hidden in her left-handed and that she used to cut a slice of my shoulder and blood was flowing out of the wound. I hissed in pain. And noticed that I have dropped my sword, Clary smirked ugly at me but I was barely conscious as I grabbed my scorpion spear which was dangling from my waist, swirled it in both of my hands, and started attacking Clary.
Unexpected by my strength and the way I used the Scorpion spear she could only block my attacks but couldn't counterattack her.
I attacked her sneakily and got hold of her sword and pointed it against her neck.
I was breathing heavily, Clary dropped to her knees and I said, "Clary Mayer admit your defeat."
Clary gritted her teeth and said in an angry voice, "I admit my defeat to Zaraina Malfoy."
I smirked as the crowd began to cheer loudly and the barrier which Clary set up was also fading slowly, Alya and Rose were the first ones to hug me followed by the staff, students, and some other friends of mine. Ash, Chris, and many others appreciated me. And suddenly everyone moved and let away in the middle as the headmistress walked towards me.
I thought, 'Perks of being a headmistress' and suddenly realized that I was the one who won the battle, and a smile formed on my lips as Our headmistress Aurilea hugged me.
"Are you alright Zara??!!!! " she asked in a concerned voice.
"I'm alright, I'm strong as steel. Did you think I would lose that easily??" I asked Aurilea raising my eyebrows.
"*Sighs* Alright, Rose and Alya take Zara to the infirmary," Aurilea ordered both the girls. They both nodded with full sincerity.
"Hey...Wait where is my prize I won the match right" I said in a confused voice.
"You will get your results in the afternoon, do you need any special gift," Aurilea asked me smiling.
I just glared at Aurilea, but she just laughed and ruffled my hair "Go to the infirmary and get treated already."
After saying those words Aurilea turned to Clary who was still processing the whole situation, Aurilea who was smiling at me was sympathetically looking at Clary.
"*Hem...Hem* Clary your action is irrelevant and a disgrace to our school more than that using dark magic is something that can get you a death trial, I don't want to spoil your life for this Clary" Aurelia said sternly.
I just looked at what was happening. But I did something which I shouldn't have to but after seeing those the only thing I wanted to do is run and hug Clary and say I'm there for you.
Clary looked up in a hostile manner "You are showing favoritism, you are biased against Zara. It was me who won after all Zara dropped her sword first."
"Of course, I'm biased with Zara got any problem. And it was you who violated the tournament's rule, so it is Zara who won"Aurilea said cooly.
I chuckled a light louder than excepted which made everyone's attention turn to me. I smiled at Aurilea as she frowned and asked me "Why are you not at the infirmary still now??? "
But I turned my attention towards Clary, I tried not to use Legilimency but without my knowledge, I preyed into Clary's mind and saw things I shouldn't have to and to smoother the situation I said "Of course, Aurilea is biased towards me because" others gaped at me as I said the headmistress's name, and the headmistress did not oppose it. "Because she is my godmother. " I winked as I said only the staff knows that Aurilea is my godmother which earned many gasps from the students.
I kneeled and whispered to Clary only Clary and Aurilea could hear what I said since others were discussing the fact I'm the headmistress's goddaughter "I know you are angry at me, even I would be angry if someone defeats me too."
"What do you want?" Clary hissed.
"Oh. I want to share my thought with you, You know what, I don't want to lose my precious opponent. You are the best, you know. Because I know you. And I'm not that intelligent to advise you but you are someone who almost defeated me. But I saw something in your eyes, which I have also gone through in my family too ." I finished as Aurilea smiled at me and Clary looked as if she was still confused about how to know her.
"I'm" Clary started to say sorry but was interrupted by Me.
"Let's be good friends Clary," I said handing my hand out. Catching Clary and everyone by surprise. They only saw me talking to Clary and were busy discussing my godmother. The staff looked pleased with my approach and the students including my friends were dumbstruck.
Clary grabbed my hand and hugged me and she cried, seriously did I do anything wrong that made Clary cry? I was quite flustered.
"Thanks, Zara. I would like to be your friend as well as your enemy," she said with determination. I smiled nervously.
" OK girls, enough of chitchat Zara go to the infirmary, and Clary you too," Aurilea said.
Rose and Alya dragged me and Clary to the infirmary.
IN THE INFIRMARY :
Clary apologized a million times to me, Rose and Alya. Though the girls were angry they realized that it was not Clary's fault it was her father who forced her to win this battle and said that she is a disgrace to Mayer's family and blah blah blah. But I know what it is like since I have experienced something like that and that was the same thing I saw in Clarys mind her fear of her parents torturing her, This is the only problem in pure-blood families they will go to any extent to save their family honor. Alya and Rose consoled her, but I was thinking about my parents and my brother and how would they greet me, I also don't like my father since I have been at odds with him, I have never called him 'dad or father' I only called my Godfather as a dad since he is the one who has been taking care of me since I was a baby.
But my thoughts were interrupted by the healer's voice, "Don't strain your hand deary, it will be alright in two days. "
"Hmm...Thanks." I said to the healer and turned to my friends "Our results would have arrived let's go to the hall and Clary you are sitting with us today." Alya and Rose nodded.
"Okay" Clary smiled.
As we made our way to the Hall the staff were distributing the result papers.
We sat down at an empty table and waited for our results and our four result papers came together.
Alya's letter was the first to arrive.
We first opened Alya's letter.

"Wow, congratulations Alya" Clary said.
"Yeah, Congratulations dear," Rose said she was bewildered.
"Oh...Congratulations Miss. Swayer, you are the 5th ranker in our year." I said smirking.
"No. Zara, I should thank you, you helped me in my studies I came from 39th grade to 5th grade because of you" Alya said tearing up.
"Alright, but why D in Herbology?" I asked
" It was Because of the Snargaluff pods I accidentally poked it and it busted a green smelly liquid in the face of the examiner," Alya said blushing.
Clary, Rose, and I laughed soon as Alya joined us. She said "Don't laugh it's embarrassing. Let's see Clary's Result."

"Oh my god that's awesome, I getting anxious about what grade I have got," Rose said anxiously.
"Congrats Clary, and Rose I'm sure you are 1st in our year so don't worry," I said comforting Rose.
"Congratulations Miss. Clary Mayer." Alya said mimicking Aurelia which made me burst out laughing.
"You guys are seriously... No wonder everyone in school has a soft corner for you guys." Clary said.
"I indeed heard some rumors like that. " Alya said.
Clary nodded and I gave an amused expression.
"But in others, eyes are innocent students but most of the pranks in school has done by me, Ash, Sam, Shawn, Chris, and Alya, Rise is interested in such things she is a PERFECT student but Our dear headmistress knows it too," I said, Clary, laughed.
But Rose was not listening instead she was staring at her result letter.
"When did you get your letter!!" Alya asked surprised.
"Just now they are distributing in Alphabet order that was the reason for the delay," Rose said anxiously.
"So my letter would come last," I muttered happily, Clary smirked.
"Open it already," Alya said.
Rose opened the letter with trembling hands.
