Chapter 38: Spy Mission

"You've found a place for an apprenticeship, haven't you? That's great, Deku!" Ochaco said to Midoriya while the class A kids were relaxing in the lounge on the first floor.

"That's great!" Ashido exclaimed.

"Congratulations, Midoriya-kun." Iida said.

"Thank you." Midoriya said.

"I can't be left behind either." Iida said.

"But you really are great, Midoriya." Kaminari said.

"Yes, you will be working in Sir Nighteye's office!" Serro said.

"You were recommended by Togata, huh?" asked Kirishima.

"Good work!" Satou exclaimed.

"The distance between us is widening again. We have to be able to catch up as quickly as possible." Todoroki said.

"The school said the interns at the Gunhead agency were full, so I couldn't go there." Ochaco said.

"Me too, even though I wanted to intern at Selkie's place." Asui said.

"Fourth Kind doesn't even accept apprentices." Kirishima said.

"Congratulations, Tokoyami." Shoji said.

"I'm honored." Tokoyami said.

"We must quickly catch up with us." Todoroki said.

"Don't say it over and over again!" Bakugo exclaimed annoyed with Todoroki.

"Oh yeah, Kirishima, Amajiki from Big 3 wants to meet you." Aizawa said.

"With me?" asked Kirishima.

"Understood." Said Haku who was also sitting on a chair at the dining table.

"So lucky, they are." Kaminari said.

"What about internship practice? First-year students like us are just lackeys." Mineta said.

"Isn't that your own apprenticeship experience?" asked Kaminari.

"Don't remind me of that dark history!" Mineta exclaimed.

While everyone was joking and laughing, Haku was busy sharpening his weapons. "By the way, what have you been doing since then, Haku-kun?" Iida asked as he drew closer to Haku.

"I'm sharpening this." Haku said while showing his large kunai to Iida.

"Oi oi oi, don't tell me you don't know that Heroes can't kill people." said the frightened Mineta.

"Yes. I know it. That's why I always hold back my strength. But this kunai will continue to be sharpened so that it does'nt become dull. One day, I might come face-to-face with an enemy that must be killed." Haku said with a gentle smile. Haku's contradicting words and faces made all the friends there fell silent.

"Oi Haku, really. Heroes can't say things like that." said Kaminari who took Haku's words as a joke.

"I'm not a hero." Haku said which made everyone silent.

"What are you saying? You already have…"

"All I did was to get permission to legally use my powers. Even though I use it for good, it doesn't mean I'm a good person. Honestly, I don't believe heroes exist. And if there were, I wouldn't be one of them. My motivation for doing this is all very different from yours. So don't think of me as a hero. A person like me, doesn't deserve to be a hero." Haku said as he packed up his equipment and returned to his room.

Everyone was silent until Haku disappeared from before them. "Head of the class. What made him say something like that? Why does he feel he doesn't deserve to be a hero?" asked Todoroki.

That night, Haku came out of the dormitory in his costume and met Aizawa. "Where are we going, Aizawa sensei?" asked Haku when he saw the car that was waiting in front of the dormitory.

"You'll find out later. Come in." Aizawa said. Haku and Aizawa got into the car and saw someone waiting for them. That person has red wings and wears a black costume wrapped in a yellow jacket and pants. "Well… I've been waiting for you. Yuki Haku-kun." said the person.

"You're Hawks huh? Are you going to explain everything along the way? Or shall we wait until we reach our destination?" asked Haku.

"I will explain it now together with your homeroom teacher. And you will say your answer where we are going. I know you already have a hero license, but you're still a student at school, you need a guardian." Hawks said.

"Understood." Haku said. Then the car started and Hawks started the conversation.

"Okay, I'll get straight to the point. Yuki, although this is the first time we've met, I know that you are a very talented child. I've read and seen your profile. And I feel that you are very suitable to be a spy with me." Hawks said.

"Spies? What for?" asked Aizawa.

"Meta Liberation Army. They are a hefty organization that follows the philosophy that free use of quirks is a human right and emphasizes liberation over regulation. I've actually started to get into their environment and try to gain their trust."

"Then what do you want me to do? Weren't you able to get the information yourself?" asked Haku.

"I want you to help me of course. I'll keep trying to earn their trust in order to get information. But I want someone who can back up my information from behind. If I face them from the front, I want you to face them from behind. You know what I mean right?" Hawks said.

"Of course. But, can I ask you one thing?" asked Haku.

"Sure, what is it?"

"Are all members of the meta liberation squad, can be called Villains?" asked Haku which made Hawks and Aizawa speechless.

"If so, what will you do?" the Hawks asked.

"If so, then I want to help them." Haku said.

"Help? What do you mean?"

"For the past 6 years, I have always observed my surroundings, including the Heroes and Villains. During this time, I always had a question in my mind. Why are there Heroes? Why are there villains? What makes a person a Villain? And now, when I enter UA, I understand one thing." Haku's words made Hawks and Aizawa focus their attention on Haku.

"Hero, will only help good people." Haku replied which made both of them flinch.

"Then I thought back, if heroes will only help good people, then who will help Villains who want to repent? Those of you who have worked as a Hero for several years must have realized, right, that there are various types of villains. There are those who are forced to commit crimes to survive, there are those who commit crimes just for fun, and there are also those whose hearts are already broken." Haku said which made both of them speechless.

They already knew that there were many kinds of villains as mentioned by Haku, but they chose to distract them because they thought that it was none of their business.

"My only dream is to live in peace with my family. However, if there are still villains who destroy my environment, and threaten the safety of my family, I can't just stand still. That's why I thought, if you guys, the heroes only save good people. Then, I will save the villains and pull them out of the darkness. I believe, if I can do justice to anyone, be it good people or bad people, they can certainly live side by side in peace. The reason the villains appear is because of injustice, racism, discrimination, poverty, and so on. I want to save those who do not receive justice and draw them from falling into darkness." Haku said which made both of them speechless.

"That's a very heavy goal. I really appreciate your decision. Then, based on your decision, I can conclude that you agree to help me?"

"Of course. If they threaten the safety of the crowd, then I will stand against them. I will defeat them and make them listen to my words." Haku said.

"Heh, it's great that you can say that. I thought you were a kind innocent kid. Do you think you have the power to do all that?" Hawks said.

Haku smiled gently and said, "Of course. Since the fight against All For One, I've been honing myself to become stronger. But of course I won't use my full power when I don't have to." Haku said.

Arriving at the Hero Public Safety Commission office building, Haku, who had agreed to help, was immediately given a task by the Commission leader. Haku also happily obeyed the Commission's orders because he himself had a mission of his own. 'I will use this to find trusted people who want to follow me and live in Kirigakure.' Haku thought with a smile. After the briefing was over, Haku and Aizawa were escorted back to UA.

The next day, Haku, who had started his apprenticeship, went to patrol the city. "Can you stand up, little girl?" asked Haku then he realized that the girl was really scared and her body was shaking. Both her arms and legs were bandaged so Haku immediately realized that something was wrong with this girl.

"Didn't I tell you? To not trouble the hero." said a man who came from the narrow alley in front of Haku. Haku also saw the man, he had short black hair and wore a bird's beak-shaped mask, a green jacket with purple feathers on the hood, a black shirt with a white tie, white gloves, black pants, and white shoes.

'Oh, it's obvious that he's the bad guy.' Haku thought after observing the man. But just when Haku wanted to ask, there were two people who approached them. "What's going on?" asked one of the people who approached them.

When Haku turned towards them, he was quite surprised when he saw Togata and Midoriya.

"Oh? Kuroyuki? What are you doing here?" asked Deku.

"I was walking around here, then I accidentally bumped into this little girl." Haku said then when Togata and Midoriya saw the man standing in front of Haku, they fell silent and Midoriya obviously reacted a little strangely and was wary of the person in front of him. 'Hm, are they watching this guy? That means this person really isn't a good person.' Haku thought then decided to follow the game Togata was about to play.

"Sorry for my daughter's misbehavior, hero." The man said.

"Oh, I should be the one apologizing. I'm the one who hit your daughter. Please forgive me." Haku said politely.

"Oh, there's no need. She often enjoys playing and injuring herself, always giving me trouble." The man said.

"Again you forgot to wear your mask. Did the adhesive come off?" Togata said while putting on Midoriya's mask. 'Oh, looks like they're after this guy. Who is he?' thought Haku who was just silent.

"Judging by your mask, you must be a member of the Shie Hassaikai, huh? You guys are quite famous in this area." Togata said.

"Yes, please just ignore this mask of mine. I'm just a little sensitive to dust. You three are rookie heroes, huh?"

"It's true, we are still rookies but we are trying our best. All right, let's wake up my friend! We must be prepared for an uncertain future."

"Which hero agency are you members of?"

"We are still students. Right now we are just like chicks. We are currently participating in field training. We should have finished circling this area before noon. So, let's go." Togata said.

It could be seen that the man harbored his anger and tried to remain calm, but it was all meaningless in front of Haku's eyes.

"Geez, that hero is really very sensitive to people's problems, huh. I understand. It's quite embarrassing actually. So instead of talking about it in public, how about we talk about it there." The man said then led Haku, Togata, and Midoriya into a small alley.

Haku picked up the little girl and followed the man from behind. Midoriya and Togata followed behind Haku.

"Actually, lately I've been quite worried about Eri. No matter what I say, she always fights." The man said.

"You have a hard time educating him, huh. It must be tough." Togata said.

"Yeah, those kids are really hard to understand. I don't know what she will become, really a burden on my mind.". As the man was about to take off his gloves, Haku noticed the fear of the little girl named Eri increasing and Haku felt a murderous aura emanating from the man.

Eri got off Haku's arms and jogged towards the man who claimed to be his father. "Huh, are you done sulking her?" asked the man then Eri nodded. Haku also remembered himself when he was little. He was also used by adults as their tool if he didn't want to be killed. Haku's anger peaked, but Haku didn't show it to anyone.

"Sorry, heroes. My daughter has been causing you trouble. Then, I'll excuse myself first." The man said.

"Wait." Haku said coldly who was now wearing his mask. The man looked back and said,

"What else?" he asked, slightly irritated. Haku disappeared and appeared in front of the man.

"I will save Eri from your rotten hands. Answer me, what have you done to Eri?" asked Haku as he slightly removed his mask so the man could see Haku's sharingan.

Instantly the man fell into his genjutsu and answered Haku's question clearly. "I used Eri's blood to make a weapon that can remove one's quirk." The man replied. It also made everyone shudder in horror except for Haku.

"Senpai, does the agency you go to have a plan for Shie Hassaikai? Are you planning on securing them?" asked Haku.

"Yes. What did you do to Chisaki?" asked Togata.

"I hypnotized him. Can you contact whoever is your leader? I want to talk to him." Haku said.

"I understand. I will contact Sir immediately." Said Togata then took out his cellphone and called his superiors while Haku and Midoriya calmed Eri down.

Haku knelt down and smiled gently at the confused and scared Eri. "You don't have to worry anymore. I will save you." Haku said as he hugged Eri and stroked her head from behind.

Feeling Haku's honesty and warmth that she had never felt before made Eri burst into tears. Eri hugged Haku tightly. Midoriya also helped calm Eri from behind. Then soon after, a thin man with green and yellow hair, wearing glasses and a gray suit and a blue woman in a mask came.

"Lumillion, Who are you?"

"My name is Kuroyuki."

"Kuroyuki? If I'm not mistaken, you're a UA first grader who got a recommendation to instantly become a hero of the top 4 por-heroes. I'm Sir Nighteye. Why are you here?"

"I was just strolling around here. Then I accidentally collided with Eri and ended up running into Chisaki." Haku said then showed Chisaki who was standing in the shadow of the building. This also made the two newcomers surprised and alert, but they were surprised to see Chisaki silent.

"What's wrong with him?"

"I hypnotized him to shut him up. By the way, are you aiming for Shie Hassaikai? If so, let me help you guys. I think we should immediately secure them so that quirk-killing drugs can no longer be produced and distributed." Haku said.

"What did you say? What are you talking about?" the man asked.

"Chisaki, explain your plan to us one more time." Haku said then Chisaki nodded and replied that the point was that he wanted to sell quirk-busting drugs to bring his organization back to their former glory. This took both of them by surprise, and Nighteye started racking his brains again.

"Alright, I gladly accept your help. But to secure all of the Shie Hassaikai members, we need time. After all, it was possible that the League of Villains cooperated with them. We have to be careful to keep them safe." Nighteye said.

"Okay. I understand. I will infiltrate and provide information from the inside. I'd like to have a number I can call to hand over the information I got." Haku said.

"Bubble, give him our agency's phone number. How do you infiltrate? We've caught Chisaki here." Nighteye said.

Eri was holding Haku's clothes tightly, Haku returned to his original form and smiled at Eri, "No need to worry, Eri. We will catch all those bad guys. And while I am away, you will be accompanied by my wives." Haku said.

"Wifes?" asked a confused Bubble.

"Haku has three wives." Deku said which surprised the three of them even though Nighteye didn't show his surprise. Haku took out a scroll from the small bag behind him and called out to Masami.

"What's wrong, Haku-sama?" asked Masami who was in full costume just like the current Haku and wearing a mask.

"Take off your mask, Masami. You scared Eri." Haku said then Masami took off her mask and showed her beautiful face.

"I want you to accompany Eri, she was used by Chisaki here to make quirk-killing medicine. Accompany her while I infiltrate their base. Bring also Sasaki and Hanami so Eri is not lonely. Don't leave Eri alone. There should be at least one of you waiting beside her. Understand?"

"Understood, Haku-sama." Masami said then turned to Eri. Masami's gentle smile made Eri's heart melt. "I am Hyuuga Masami. You can just call me Masami, Eri-chan. Nice to meet you." Masami said in a very soft voice. Seeing that there were many people who wanted to help her made her cry again.

"Th…thank you. Thank you for helping me." Eri said solemnly. Haku gently stroked Eri's head and said, "Said that after we secured Shie Hassaikai, Eri. Alright, I'll leave Eri to you, Nighteye. I leave all decisions on Eri to you, but let Masami and the others accompany Eri." Haku said.

"Understood. I will immediately take her to the hospital for treatment. And I will let your three wives accompany Eri." Nighteye said.

"Masami, change into me and stand beside Deku and Lumillion. It would be strange if I suddenly disappeared while I was disguised as Eri." Haku said then glanced at Nighteye and both nodded.

"Understood. Henge no Jutsu." Masami said then turned into Haku without the slightest flaw.

"Okay, Eri. Join Nighteye and Bubble, they are pro-Heroes, so you can be safe with them." Haku said.

Eri was a little worried too, but when Eri saw Haku smile, courage rose in her heart and she walked towards Nighteye. Nighteye immediately gave her coat to Eri and carried Eri in her arms. Even though her face was stiff, Eri could feel the warmth from Nighteye's embrace.

After Eri was carried by Nighteye, Haku turned back into Eri. "Okay. I will dispel my hypnosis on Chisaki. You'd better hide behind this building." Haku said. Nighteye nodded then she and Bubble walked and hid behind the building beside them. Deku, Lumillion, and Masami walked away and returned to where they had been standing. Haku ended Chisaki's hypnosis.

Chisaki woke up and immediately turned around because he didn't remember anything about Haku provoking him. Haku in disguise also follows Chisaki and starts his role as Eri who is afraid of Chisaki.
