Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Rescue Party [Valor]
"Hey wake the hell up!" with a light kick to Valor's side.
"Shut up, pancakes…..yummy….okay I'm up….sort of." as he opened his eyes, Leon and Eunice were quickly putting away their camping materials. She then got onto the horse and started to ride the caravan with Leon hopping onto the opposite side of Valor
"What the hell is the rush? Where Is everybody?" Valor, still a bit sleep deprived.
"We are going to look for them. They were taken last night while you slept peacefully bucko." Leon said.
"FUCK! WHY DIDN'T THE HELL DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP SOONER!?" Valor was already panicking.
"Calm down, Eunice was fighting someone and I woke up just in time to help. They can't have gone too far." It was early morning when they had gotten up and left, but soon took a break as noon came. Eunice remained silent through the ride.
"What happened?" Valor, now calm enough to ask.
"There was… 5 or 10 of them… I don't know… One of them knew the spell [Drowse] or another like it. It's still a bit hard to remember."
"Sorry for freaking out….I just hate this kind of bullshit."
"It's fine… I was doing the same earlier."
"Nah, it was messed up of me….so I apologize."
"Haha you actually got that idiot to apologize."
"I'm not some heartless monster and I'm not an idiot!" Valor and Leon were at each others' necks while Eunice watched the whole thing transpire.
"Stop it, we got to go save Daisy." The three got back onto the caravan and started to follow the path of the kidnapper's caravan. However, they soon reached a dead end. The trail led to a wall. When they tried to touch it, it was solid.
"Did they create a stone wall with magic?"
"Hey Jay, can you knock it down?" They all looked around and realized, "Jay isn't here!"
"Oh, he also got kidnapped, I forgot to mention that…" Eunice said. Suddenly, they heard hushed whispers surrounding them. The three got out their weapons and began to take fighting stances.
"Who are you!" in almost a blink of an eye, an arrow shot right next to Valor's face.
They then heard a voice, "Stop, I don't think they are part of the thieves."
"How do you know?"
"Well no shit!," Valor yelled
"Well they're following the wrong trail,"
One of them hopped down from the trees, "Hey there, name's Davis and this is Axel. I'm guessing you're looking for the thieves?"
"Nooo really," Valor insulted.
Leon slapped his back, "Yeah could you help us. Some people we know were kidnapped."
"These aren't some hit and run thieves, they're extremely clever and have outsmarted us," Axel perks up.
"Ok so do you know which way we should go then?" Eunice asks getting back onto the horse.
"Yeah, they faked this path and probably used some wind magic to hide their path. " "Follow us," Axel says as they began to walk the opposite way around
"Alright"
"Be careful, we don't know if we can trust these guys." Valor whispered to Eunice and Leon.
Eunice called out to the two strangers and said, "You guys can just point where we need to go on the caravan."
Nodding the two agreed and Axel hopped in the back, while Davis rode in the front pointing directions to Eunice.
"So what're your lives like? You married, work?" Valor uncomfortably asked.
"Uhh.. I'm soon to be married. Unfortunately… she got kidnapped though." Axel said somewhat worriedly.
"Sucks man, I'd hate to be tied down too. Marriage am I right?" Valor jokes. Eunice without looking threw a knife at Valor, "It was a small joke okay!" Putting his hands up to defend himself.
"That's your fault man." Leon smirked
"I said it before I could process what it meant."
"Quiet down, we're here," Davis said, pointing in front of everyone. "We should get out of the caravan to hold the element of surprise." Eunice and Axel agreed, while the other two nodded begrudgingly.
"Let's knock some heads." Valor started to pull out his sword.
"Chill buddy, scout it first"
"Jeez fine, stay behind, Eunice come with me." They set out to the thieves' fort.
"Good luck, pal." Valor and Leon did their secret handshake before he left. The two broke a small hole through the wall and Axel used Illusion magic to make it look like nothing had gone through.
"In the den of the wolves, this will go extremely well, right?"
Before Axel could enter, an explosion had erupted near the middle of the fort.
