Chapter 57: Chapter 54: Achilles is law! [Valor]

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"I-I think so…are you..are you going to take me as a bride prize?" A beautiful woman looked at Valor with a nervous look in her eyes. The other men had been eying her, all except Valor who had spent his time looking for some treasure.

"Uh…" Valor looked to the other soldiers who had been drooling and then back at the woman, "Okay, sure why not?"

"O-Okay…lead the way…"

"What's your name by the way?"

"U-Um my name is Briseis."

"That's a nice name, mine is Va–Achilles." He smiled, but she seemed to still be on edge a bit. Valor tried his best to make her feel comfortable, but nothing much seemed to work. When the time came for him to get lunch, he left her in his tent since most weren't allowed in there without his permission.

"Uh…Achilles..did you take a bride prize?" Odysseus/Jay asked him.

"Mayhaps…why?" Valor said while yawning.

"Because the others have been talking about it and Agamemnon seems to want her." Valor felt incredibly uncomfortable from that sentence, but shook his head, "Yeah that's not happening. I don't know what he would do to–" Their conversation was cut short by a scream for help. Valor sprinted off in the direction of it and arrived at his own tent. He went in and saw a strange dude pulling Briseis' hair.

"Hey what in the hell do you think you're doing?" Valor had sped through his tent and grabbed Agamemnon by his hair which caused his grip on Briseis to loosen completely.

"A-Achilles!" Briseis looked disheveled and injured, as she scurried away from Agamemnon.

"Sorry, I didn't get here quick enough. I'm glad you're mostly okay. Let me take care of this trash." Valor reached behind him for his sword, as Agamemnon squirmed in his grip. Valor got tunnel vision, as the only thing he could see was the neck he would soon cut through. His grip on his sword tightened, as a dark energy coursed through it. Valor saw red for a split second, as he released his sword from his sheathe ready to use it when a hand touched his shoulder.

"It's okay to be angry, just stay in control."

"L--Menelaus?" Leon had stopped him before he did something that he'd come to regret, but there was still the problem of Agamemnon.

"Yeah it's me, the one and only Menelaus. Now…Agamemnon, if you don't return now and never come near Achilles' tent or bride prize, then I'll be the one to cut you down." This sent chills down the other man's spine, as you could see his face pale immediately. He left the tent, as Leon followed after making sure Valor had calmed down enough.

"A-Are you okay?" Briseis asked him, worry evident on her face.

"Yeah..sorry you had to see that..I don't usually lose my temper that quick, but I'm not usually so disgusted by someone. Uh..the reason I agreed to take you wasn't because I wanted to do anything..I just wanted to make sure nothing happened to you."

"R-Really…I'm glad…it's nice to meet you by the way." She giggled in a melodious way which caused Valor to blush a bit.

"So if you'd like I can sleep outside to make sure no one gets in." Valor stretched a bit before beginning to make his way out of the tent, only for Briseis to stop him.

"N-No…I couldn't ask that of you…I can sleep on the floor..or..on the bed with…" Briseis began to blush, as Valor felt his face heat up more than before.

"...I don't think I can trust myself to do that. I'll sleep on the floor and you can take the bed…besides the floor is what I'm used to anyways." Briseis relented to that and handed him a pillow and a blanket before laying down on the bed.

[10 Minutes Later]

"...sorry to disturb you, but I can't sleep. My heart's still racing from earlier…."

'Yeah Agamemnon really did a number on her…it's times like this I wish I could heal people.' Valor shook those thoughts away, as he stared up at Briseis who was hugging her pillow while staring down at him.

"Well then…how about you tell me about yourself and I can tell you some satires of my adventures. How does that sound?" Briseis brightened up, as she eagerly nodded.

"Uh..where to start I'm not exactly sure…I'm pretty sure my stories would just bore you." Valor grinned at this and chuckled, "Try me." They spent the night talking until they both unknowingly fell into a deep slumber.
