Chapter 54: Chapter 51: A Look into the Past [Davis]

"Well looks like you've all made your preparations. I wish you the best of luck." They all nodded before entering the dungeon. Immediately Davis felt a rush of adrenaline before his head went completely blank before filling with a bunch of random knowledge. A man shook him awake, as he finally got a look around. He saw an inscribed tablet in his hand with a message. It took him a second to read since his eyes needed adjusting, but once he fully woke up and adjusted his eyes, the tablet read, [Dungeon Objective: End the Trojan War]

'This is a high level dungeon…not many have the objective written out. Usually you're given a semi-clear objective if you can piece it together from your surroundings which is usually the hard part. If it's telling me already, then it is probably a harder problem to solve…not that war is ever an easy problem to solve.' Davis stood up, as he noticed he was dressed in a toga and had some gold vambraces.

"Prince Paris, we must ready the soldiers. The kings are at our gates trying to take your wife Helen." Davis could only go pale, as he felt something drip from his forehead. He was Paris.. the Paris who started the Trojan War and very easily pissed off 2 goddesses and stole another man's wife. Davis paced around while trying to think of a plan when a woman with long blonde hair like him walked in.

"Who are you?" Davis blurted out, but as the words left his mouth he saw a shift of emotions go through the woman. He could tell by her changing expressions.

"You're not Paris are you?"

"No, I'm.." He leaned in and whispered, "Davis, now who are you?"

"Daisy, do you know where everyone else is?"

"I was hoping maybe Paris would be able to lead me in the right direction, but no. "

"Why would Paris be able to?"

"Well he was the one who instigated the war, so maybe people around him would be some of our party members."

"Oh..well I guess you were right in that regard. By the way, who are you?"

"Cassandra, your sister, also known as the Prophet no one listens to."

"Hm well this isn't at all what we had planned for, so it looks like we'll have to improvise. How exactly do we stop a war? You don't think I can just stand up in front of our soldiers and say we lost and return Helen?" Daisy shook her head at this, as they both sighed.

"No, most people have already lost their family and friends, so I doubt they'd be happy to just give up. Morale is too high right now to go about that option."

"Where do you think everyone else is? I mean they should be somewhere here right?" Daisy shrugged before turning because of a war cry. They decided to split up for the meantime and figure out what the situation was like, as a soldier kept staring at Davis.

"Are you Paris?" Instantly, Davis felt a familiar vibe from this soldier, but kept quiet for now.

"...um sort of?" The soldier lifted him up and brought him close to his face, "I'm going to need you to end this war now."

"K-Kai?"

"What, how do you know that? Unless.."

"I'm Davis, so you mind putting me down before these other soldiers get the wrong idea." Kai chuckled a bit before letting him down.

"I'm guessing you ruled out, getting up in front of everyone and declaring we lost, plan of action?"

"Yeah, Daisy and I. Have you found anyone else?"

"No, I just woke up from my rest. Apparently I'm supposed to be Hector, so I'm not exactly super excited to be killed by Achilles." They each took a deep breath before turning towards the enemy they were supposed to make peace with. Each of them were geared and outnumbered them by a comfortable many. It was good that their objective wasn't to win the war.

"Fuck, so what have you learned so far on the soldier side?"

"Everyone's still incredibly motivated despite the fact they're fighting for a very dumb reason."

"Yeah I figured they've lost friends and family by now, so the only thing left to do is try to ease them into it. If we can't win and we can't give up, then we just have to find a way to settle it diplomatically. The only problem is that we don't know how the soldiers and people camping out over there will feel. Odysseus is a sly and cunning person, so I don't know if it'll work, but hopefully he'll agree."

"So it's all up to them. Gods, I hope we find everyone soon."
