Chapter 41: Chapter 40: A New Start [Eunice]
Eunice had just finished carving the wood frame of the bed, as she left. It was a parting gift to the extremely comfortable bed she had slept in for 2 weeks.
"Where to now?"
"Well…I'm not exactly sure. I've just been thinking about the incident over and over for the whole time." Eunice was surprised to hear this from Valor, as he just looked back down at the map.
"Yeah…I think that goes for everyone else too…" Valor scribbled on the map, as he passed it back over to Eunice, "Why did you circle this area?"
"It's a good tourist area. I feel like we might need just a tiny break." Eunice nodded, as she introduced the idea to everyone.
"Hey…guys..let's um…how about we go here to…you know relax for a bit?" Eunice had never felt more embarrassed.
'I've never cheered anyone up…why is it so hard and awkward to say? Fuck….'
"Huh oh yeah sure. Let's head off to Ανοιξη."
'It was that easy! And I couldn't do it….someone kill me now…'
"Is something wrong? You look constipated." Valor said, stupidly. These were the last famous words of Valor before he was brutally stabbed by an angry/embarrassed Eunice.
"Shut the fuck up!!"
[1 Day Later]
"Looks like the timeskip has kept up with our arrival."
"Hey, don't break the Fourth Wall!"
"Why are you both arguing the moment we arrive?" Leon and Valor turned away from each other before laughing. They stopped the caravan and left it in a safe place before heading off to check out the place.
"Hey! Let's check out the hot springs!" Leon said with a red face and a thumbs-up.
"No." Daisy deadpanned, as she slapped him to bring him out of his stupor.
"Ow did you have to hit me so hard?!! You could've gone easier, at least don't hit my money maker." Leon cried a bit, as he massaged his cheek.
"Eunice and I will be checking out the shooting range and the spa." They left without another word leaving behind all the bois.
"So the shooting range huh? I don't remember wanting to go there."
"I do, so come on unless you want to feel the strength of a healer." Daisy laughed it off, but Eunice knew just how serious she was.
"That'll be 4 Bronze coins, but I'll give you 2 if you–" A knife whizzed past the man before he could finish, as he quivered before taking 1 Bronze coin.
"I didn't even see you throw my knife" Eunice glanced at Daisy, as she felt a slight chill at the fact that even she couldn't see the throw.
"What can I say, I've been practicing." You could practically feel the sadness dripped in that sentence, as Daisy picked up a flintlock pistol to prepare to shoot. She fired the 1 shot and immediately hit in the inner circle. She continued on until she needed to reload, as she slowly but surely got closer to the bullseye.
"Stop!" Daisy was brought out of focus to see Eunice holding her arm, "Your hand's bleeding. Let go of it for a bit." Daisy held on tighter before relenting.
"You know I can just heal it, so it's fine." Daisy gripped the flintlock pistol again, "Have you worked yourself half to death and healing yourself?"
"I have to! I can't catch up to everyone if I don't at the very least this much-"
"I'm glad that you want to train and get stronger, but this is self-harm. You can train with me, but not to this extent."
"B-But…I have to do this or else I'll just be the damsel in distress that can't do anything! I can't let everyone die again!"
"We didn't die, though. We're all fine."
"Yeah…I know you all survived, but…they didn't…"
"Who are you talking about?"
"You ever wonder why I don't have any friends."
"Part of me thought you were just shy or antisocial…sorry." Eunice quieted back down.
"When…before I chose Demeter as my Patron…I let my entire village burn…it was all my fault."
"That can't be true…I mean you wouldn't do that!"
"I was about 9 when it happened…"
