Chapter 37: Chapter 36: Scramble [Kai]
"What do you mean?" Valor's whole aura did a 180, as he clenched his fists.
"She...was taken while I...I was useless to help." Daisy said while looking down and clutching Edalas' Crown with her right hand. Her cheeks looked pale and were sunken, as she was standing shakily.
"It's okay, do you remember where they took her?" Jay asked with a sigh while Valor took a couple breaths.
"I do..but we have to go quickly." They prepared the caravan before going off.
"Do you know what they wanted?" Davis asked, "..it's not my story to tell...but when Eunice was younger...she was taken at a young age after her parents died...they sold her off to an assassination training facility….she was trapped within the 'Deicide' for years until I found her…"
'The caravan's never this quiet or cold…' They arrived at the presumed base of operations with their emotions in full throttle and only one goal on their mind.
"Valor, Leon, you two make a big distraction while Davis, Kai, Daisy, and I track down Eunice's cell. You two do know how to make the biggest ruckus right?" Valor and Leon just smirked before going off. They entered the seemingly endless labyrinth with no end in sight, but one simple goal. The four found themselves checking every single room to find nothing, but enemies or emptiness. They slowly made their way through the base until they found three people all with masks. The people each had cloaks that covered their bodies and masks with symbols none of them recognized.
"[Queen's Squires]" The battleaxe in Kai's hand summoned two squires, as they got to fighting the people. They were sorely outmatched and soon were dispatched, as one pointed a knife at the end of both Daisy' and Davis' throats. That was until the crown on Daisy started to glow, "[Snowstorm]." The blast was strong enough to blow both people back before Jay tapped one of them with his finger.
"You can die instead." The masked individual brought their knife down, but was too late as the shock permeated throughout their body. Jay smirked until he saw the individual disappear and show up near Kai. Right when they were about to pierce Kai with their blades, a familiar person arrived and kicked them both away.
"Hey, did you miss me?" Eunice stood with a smirk and a confident air around her, as she held a scythe-like weapon that was attached to a chain.
"Where did that come from?" Jay asked.
"One of the benefits of worshipping to a certain amount. I've managed to climb up a rank in worshipping."
"What happened to your old weapon then?" It changed back to a knife, as she smiled at everyone.
"Well..we came here to rescue you..but I guess it wasn't really needed.." Daisy sheepishly grinned.
"Don't worry sweetcheeks, I'll buy you all something nice as a thank-you. Besides, you did cause quite a distraction. I was pretty confused when there were only like two guards." Eunice yawned a bit, as another explosion was heard in the distance, "Guessing that's Valor and Leon over there?"
"Yeah..well there wasn't exactly a lot of time and you know how Valor gets." Everyone nodded at this moment before more explosions were heard in succession.
"I am the Master Swordsman Demon God!"
"I'm the Beast King!" Everyone sweat dropped, as they walked over to the commotion to see Valor and Leon with the Chimera. The bodies of multiple people were on the ground, as an almost animalistic look was in Leon's eyes while Valor's eyes were cold and sharper.
'Oh...it's gone? Maybe I just imagined it.'
"Oh hey! You're alive! Cool...cool cool cool coool. Nice...smArt." Leon and Valor said in synchronization. Eunice just walked over and gave them both noogies, "Yeah yeah sure, I believe you. I know you two care about me." She said teasingly.
"Pfft..of course not...whatever." Valor said, but soon started to laugh a bit alongside Leon and Eunice.
"Welcome back!"
