Chapter 35: Chapter 34: An Enjoyable Time [Kai]
"Oh you're back already. Where did you go?"
"I...uh..we went to a mixer, but it was for old people." Valor sighed.
'So he ran away..? That's real fucked up, but I guess an older woman doesn't want to date a 15..wait how old is Valor?'
"H-Hey, how old are you, Valor?"
"16, my birthday was on the 6th." Oh shit...we fucked up...how in the hell do we make this up to him now?
"How about we have a great night to celebrate your birthday?" Davis interjected. Thank Gods he stepped in.
"Yo! That sounds great!" Valor jumped up and down excitedly. They walked down and visited the many stalls trying to have the best time they could. Eunice and Daisy had gone somewhere to have fun themselves since they wanted to check out different stalls.
'Val seems pretty happy, let's see what else there is..'
"Look an arm-wrestling tournament! You're super strong right? You can totally win!" Valor's eyes sparkled.
"Yeah you can definitely win right Kai?" Davis put fuel into the already blazing fire with a smirk.
"I...I-"
"Dang...it seems like he can't do it, Valor. We might as well leave to not hurt his ego you know." Valor looked a bit disheartened, as he nodded, "I guess if he's not strong enough, then we better not let him embarrass himself. Here I thought he was actually strong…"
'These pieces of….breathe..it's fine its not worth it….'
"Yeah, if you want to see someone strong then we should have brought Keith."
"Who's Keith?" Unbeknownst to Valor, Kai's fists clenched so hard that they bled and his veins started to pop out on his head.
"Oh Keith's this super strong dude that took Kai's girlfriend. He was so sad about it that he cried himself to sleep for a week. I guess that she was into strong dudes. She even made a pass at m-" The current table they were sitting at had just completely collapsed under the pressure Kai had exerted.
"I'm going to win that goddamn tournament." The first match went quickly since Kai's pure rage had allowed for the easy victory. Once his rage had died down he realized that he was up against the champion. To say he was nervous would be an understatement, as he started to hyperventilate a bit. He felt like his stomach was doing somersaults and he didn't enjoy it one bit.
"Wow you really crushed everyone you got one more match."
"No! I can't do this! I'm going to forfeit-"
"Aw...really? You're so close." Valor's puppy-dog eyes had broken down Kai's defenses and soon he was walking back up onto that stage. He felt the immediate pressure, but deep in his gut there was.something wrong.
"You can do it! I bet 100 gold on Kai." The bets had been placed and the match started. Kai was a big guy and was confident in his size, but compared to the hulking figure in front of him he felt like a child. There was a lot riding on this one match, as Kai braced himself for the possibility of breaking his arm. He looked the man straight in the eyes to see that he looked entranced. Behind the man in the crowd was a cloaked man with discreet magic being used.
'Fuck...they're buffing this..what am I going to do now? I might just end up...no focus..for Val.' He tensed up his arm and put his dominant leg in front of him before putting his opponent's hand in an awkward position. The heavy burden was starting to get to him and he knew he might not last much longer with the buffs the other guy was getting, but he carried on. Kai felt his arm start to fall back before he remembered….him….Keith…
'Sorry, but I've fallen out of love. I love Keith now!'
'Sorry bro, it just happened.' God...she was so fucking ugly! She always took my money and took me for granted to get what she wanted! Fuck her and fuck Keith! Kai's strength returned in full force, as he turned the tables before causing his opponent to get some air time from how hard he had smashed his arm into the table. The crowd cheered, as Kai looked into it to find his two friends smiling at him while holding the buffer.
"And the winner is Kai!" They had made bank with all the prize money and the money made off the bets, but when they returned...Jay, Daisy, and Leon looked at them with solemn expressions, "Guys….Eunice was captured by-"
