Chapter 29: Chapter 28: 1st Dungeon Cleared! [Valor]
They entered a frost covered room Kai was down due to the cold while Jay was slowly losing consciousness. In front of them was a large man wearing a crown sitting on a throne. His right hand rested on the arm of his throne, while the other supported his cheek as he stared at them boredly.
"Oh, you're approaching me?" The frozen king said. Valor walked forward smirking, "I can't kick your ass, if I'm far away."
Without any warning many frozen squires appeared as the man began to tap his index finger.
"Hey Jay--" Valor saw Jay struggling to stay standing, as a bright flame shot forward while Jay's magic book seemed to dim.
"What do we do? Jay's all messed up and Kai is still unconscious." Davis asked while shooting a couple arrows to maintain the ice squires at a distance.
"I'm not a strategist, I'm like moral support or like the super cool older brother! I can't die like this! I'm too young and handsome!" Leon yelled, as he summoned his wolves to keep the squires occupied. Leon was calm despite this outburst since he just seemed to want to lighten up the mood.
"Calm down and get ready. Jay is barely standing right now and Kai is down. Leon keep one of your summons near Kai and Jay. Eunice make sure to stay on the offense. Daisy provide support and stay by the wolves. Davis stay by Daisy, preferably on that broken pillar to have a good sniping point. Leon get ready because you're going in with Eunice and I." Everyone looked at Valor before nodding.
'At least they're listening to me right now. I don't know why they seem to have this trust in me since...I'm just a.."pathetic failure." Sorry Jay, I'll be taking over for a bit here.' Valor brandished his sword, as he charged forward. The squires seemed to have a bit of strength, but compared to previous enemies they weren't quite on par. Eunice slashed two of the ice squires and made it to the king first, as she struck down with incredible speed. The attack was body blocked by a knight, as Leon arrived and slid under the knight to try to stab the king. He was pushed back by a blast of ice, as Valor had taken to blocking the brunt of the ice blast with his body to keep the people behind him safe. In terms of overall current condition he was the best out of all of them. Valor got finished clearing every other knight, as Leon and Eunice went in for another attack. A light tapping could be heard, as the king tapped his thumb on the throne. Ice wolves appeared, as they ferociously attacked the party.
"Valor! What do we do?!" Eunice and Leon asked, "Get ready for when I say when. [Noman's Blade: Wandering Beggar]." Valor's sword disappeared from their view, as they realized that Valor had blurred from their view and had taken every wolf down. They inspected the wolves to see every single one of them full of holes. The holes weren't that big but they each seemed to be done by skillful precise attacks, "When!" Valor yelled and jumped back to see Eunice and Leon cut into the Ice King. The attacks worked, but the ring finger and pinky of the king was tapped onto the throne. A battle-axe wielding queen appeared in full battle armor as the two attackers were blasted backwards from the king.
"Damn an ice beauty...with a lot of--" Valor barely blocked with his sword, as he was sent flying into a wall.
"Valor!" They all yelled, as Daisy tried to rush over to prepare a better healing spell, "No! Stay right there! This is just a scratch!" Valor prepared himself, as the queen came at him and slammed her battle-axe downwards causing the ground to form a small crater under Valor. The ruthless attacks kept going, as she didn't seem to want anything to happen to her husband.
'I didn't know that they could have such strong emotions…I might have to use that…' It was then that Eunice kicked her legs which Leon used to kick her to the side, "Are you okay?" They seemed frantic, as Valor stood up and took a deep breath.
"Yeah, thanks for the save." The queen was currently in an exchange with Eunice, as both Leon and Valor joined in which tipped the scales in their favor.
"I'm guessing you're too tired to summon the Chimera right now?"
"Yeah, kinda running on fumes currently...can you guys do anything right now?"
"[Warped Wither.]" Eunice's knives gained this dark purple aura, as she thrusted her daggers straight towards the queen. Valor and Leon owned the axe swing and saw the daggers cut straight through and rot the ice until there was nothing left of the queen. A bang was heard, as icicles shot from the ceiling. Leon and Eunice summoned their strongest ranged attacks, as they fired it towards the king.
"Shit! Take cover!" Leon and Eunice were pushed towards Daisy and the rest before Davis found himself right next to them too.
"Thanks, Jay." They looked at Valor with shock and fear for his life.
"Just...kick..its...ass...already.." Jay said weakly before setting up a barrier for the rest of them.
'They'll be fine...I have one shot at this...focus.' Valor's sword shone brightly with a white light as if demanding to finish this. Valor felt a breeze on his feet, 'You're pretty cool, Jay.'
"Looks like your bravado killed you." The King spoke in his powerful voice. Valor looked up to see many icicles close to his eyes and body.
"Not yet, [Achilles Burst: Achilles Heel]." The icicles buried Valor, as he stood without a single scratch on his body, "[Selene's Wings: Moonlight Gaze], [Helios' Star: Sol Slicer]." Valor's body completely disappeared, as he aimed for the crown and knocked it off the King's Head.
"You've been dethroned, asshole." Valor stood proudly unharmed, for the most part, 'Couldn't have done it without all the damage he got before--agh…'
"You did it! Val!" Everyone, except Kai and Jay, ran towards Valor with happy expressions until Valor's body exploded with blood. His body was bruised quite terribly, as the worst injury was on his wrist which was a noticeable scar in the shape of a moon.
"Val, buddy you can't die right? We're supposed to go on a bunch of adventures and do some antics! Our story isn't supposed to end like this. You said you were immortal...remember!" Leon's cries were the last words Valor heard before closing his eyes.
