Chapter 27: Chapter 26: Second Trial? Radical! [Leon]
"Looks like I was right." Valor confidently smirked.
'Part of me wants to sock him. Just stay calm..he did manage to guess right. He's hiding something...for a brief moment I saw his eyes change from the usual innocence to...Jay wasn't as flexible as I thought...they're both..'
"Hey you dead?" Valor waved in front of Leon, as he snapped out of his thoughts.
"Of course not, who could kill the best monster tamer ever! Let's go and clear this dungeon!" Leon had decided to continue watching, as the chilling feeling running down his spine continued to bother him. It was getting colder by the minute and Leon did not want to find out how much he could resist the cold.
"Hey Jay, can you conjure some fire and warm us up?"
"Don't you think I haven't already tried? Any fire just makes everything colder. We'd only die of hypothermia quicker." Jay responded.
"Hey, I guess you can say that we're burning up!"
"You got me on my toes! I'm-" Valor was smacked in the head, as he rubbed it.
"We still have to find a way to live-ahh!" Eunice dodged out of the way of an incoming ice fairy?
"Where do we go?" Valor started to attack them, but it seemed like it could phase through any attacks. Jay tried to use a fire spell, but that failed as well. Leon struck the ice fairies with his knife, but it did no damage. Leon proceeded to dodge the attacks made, as everyone did their best to defend themselves. It was then that Leon slashed down. Towards one, but accidentally wounded Valor's arm. Similar accidents were happening, as they movement was completely stopped with the splitting paths and multiple intangible enemies. Everyone skin seemed to be growing just a bit of ice, as soon three ice wolves appeared from three of five paths laid out in front of them.
"Fuck, what do we do?" Davis asked while clutching his weapon.
'Hmm these things haven't died and the temperature is only going lower.'
"I suppose that this might be the end…" Kai said, as his skin started to gain a slight layer of ice.
"Our journey isn't over just yet! I still got so many more jokes to tell! If it means I die, we're definitely going to get through this! I'm going to kick the ass of these bastards!" Valor proudly declared.
'What a nice dude.'
"Hey calm down already, no one's giving up just yet. I still haven't even shown you my extreme skills." Leon smiled, as he decided to test his own theory out. He let the fairies come at him, as they just phased through his entire body. There was only a slight chill that disappeared as soon as it came.
"Well it looks like they're only illusions...we just need to choose the right path now."
"Wow! You're super smart!" Valor seemed incredibly excited, as he let one of the wolves bite him. He immediately started to scream, as Daisy and Leon scrambled towards him, "Just kidding!"
"You're bleeding you know." Daisy remarked, "Ahh!" Valor looked down to see no blood and Daisy smirking at him.
"Come on time to choose a-" It was then that Jay shivered from the cold and had to rub his arms a bit, "..path."
"But which one...you think it's another puzzle like the one we had from before?"
"You mean that we should pick just any path or something?" Leon could not get rid of his suspicion, as he instead decided to test out his own theory.
"No, do you trust me?"
"Of course!" Valor was immediately pushed toward the edge in front of them. It was the only place without a path, as Valor smiled before landing on….nothing?
"Hey! Don't you think that was too dangerous!?" Eunice chastised Leon, "He's fine, so it's all good right Valor?"
"Yeah, I knew I was immortal."
"You're going to get struck by lightning one of these days." They continued on the unseen path before a giant ice storm enveloped them leaving them unable to see.
"I guess you can say that we're calling. Am I right, Valor?" Leon looked around to see..that he was all alone, "That's a bit embarrassing…"
'What happened? And where am I?' Leon thought to himself, as a frightening statue of ice surrounded in a dark aura started to move.

Leon's fist hit the ground, as his eyes became slit-like, "Don't you fucking dare finish that sentence."
