Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Beach Episode? [Jay]

Days went by as the group traveled to the location of the Demonspawn. Davis had enjoyed traveling and fighting the occasional monster along the way, although not enough to make him stay. Jay remembered him saying, "It's like a vacation day, but with fighting."

He hadn't gotten the chance to cook after he burnt another fish, despite the other turning out perfectly fine, but soon they reached the town of Laplis.

"Whoo get a whiff of that fine sea air" Leon broke in.

"This is a lake," Jay said, confused.

"The smell of the sea air really fills your lungs," Valor said, seemingly ignoring him.

"Is this the legendary Beach Episode?" Kai said.

"Most probably… I might get a lucky pervert incident. I've always dreamed of it." Valor looked at the two girls who then proceeded to slap him, "It was a joke!"

"Guys.. this is a...,"

Eunice then remarked, "If this a lake then why is there the smell of the sea, huh Jay?

"Salt water lake?" Leon laughed, "No such thing you silly man."

Daisy already went ahead attempting to book a location at the nearby hotel.

"I guess someone else took the Demonspawn… that gold would have been nice." Davis said, but his expression was a cross between disappointed and relieved.

Jay began to walk over to her as the rest stood around and chatted for the while.

"So how much does it cost?" he asked.

"Hm.. who said I was paying for you."

"I was asking to pay for myself though."

"Oh, my bad."

"Nah it's fine, but I have to ask…"

"What?"

"Was it vodka or water?"

She paused for a bit and audibly facepalmed, "You people are the worst, everyone has asked that same thing for the past week."

"Well we really want to know?"

"How about this if I answer your question, you have to answer one of mine."

"How about you tell me the price for a single inn room instead."

With a sigh she said, "2 gold"

"Ahhh well guess camping outside it is."

"Right also, about my question."

"Uhh sure ask away."

"How did you use…."

Valor then came running down the hill shouting, "YOO we can get fish by fishing."

"Oh wow yes we also drink drinks by drinking"

"What?" they said looking at Jay in confusion.

"Anyways free food!" Valor said.

"Do you really want to fish though."

"Yeah it might be fun."

"It probably won't be honest."

"You just gotta believe and the fish will come to you! It's the fishing arc! Just you, me, and the cool blue sea!" Valor looked off into the lake.

"One, this is a lake. Two, fish don't come to you. And three, what if we have to rent out a fishing rod?"

"We can just get a stick and string, besides we are gamers!"

"Oh I forgot we also need to buy bait as well,"

"Well….just dig up some worms…"

"I don't think how fishing works… Would be nice just to use water magic to grab the fish."

"How about I use my idea and you use your water magic to see who will catch the most fish!" Valor proudly smirked.

"I… sure… I'll take that. (Although I've been getting fish like this for the past month we've been traveling)."

"Well let's get to it! The winner has to grant the other's wish!" Valor brought out his hand with a smile.

"Whoever wins gets to sleep on the cart today,"

"Deal!" Valor ran off to get what he needed.

Jay thought to himself, "I can sleep on either one, but the cart has a pillow I stole,"

Jay walked over to two people fishing and asked, "Do we need a permit to fish?"

"Da ya think we care about some permits?" the older one said.

"Well if someone comes here and boils the lake what are you going to do?"

"We would kill them." The old fisherman's eye was visible and looked to have nothing to lose. Considering the somewhat small town he thought that there really wouldn't care, however the thought of overfishing crossed his mind. "Guess they don't care." He checked for the sushi shop Dana mentioned before, and couldn't seem to find it. "Did it close?" he thought.

The battle was hard fought, one with many perils and twists near the end that it could fit an entire dictionary. In the end, the victor was clear....Jay, who caught only 2 more 5-pound fish.

Jay was mocking Valor for a while, until Leon came to them holding what could only be a 15-pound fish. Eunice then laughed at the both of them and declared Leon the winner.

"I had fun!" Valor fist-bumped Jay. Jay nodded his head in agreement.

"Peasants look at my fish in all its glory."

"Yeah yeah, you win I get it. Good job,"

"Speaking of fish and stuff there is a market right there, but I definitely caught this one the one over there just happens to look exactly like the one I totally have."

"You bastard!" Valor said, as he drew his blade and began to chase Leon.

Jay began to walk to the fishermen he saw before who were packing up their stuff. He then asked them, "Hey I heard about a sushi place nearby here, Did it close? I heard the sushi was divine or something and my friends and I were hoping to try it?

The younger of the two looked at him and smirked a bit and said, "Hmm yeah, Let me take you there."

"Uhh… can I get my friends…"

"No. 'The shop' only allows one person at a time." and as he said that, lights went out for Jay once again.
