Chapter 3: Ch 3: Blood & Date's
The next day ---- wakes up feeling much better, she grabs her phone and decides to text Dabi a nice little morning greeting.
' Good Morning Dabi! Heading off to work with the Hero's :/, hope you are having a good morning!'
---- sends it and gets dressed in her uniform for the day, Dabi gets her message as he is working and growls at the rudeness of the man in his grasp.
" Would you shut up.... I have a text to read quick." Dabi scolds the man.
" Fuck off you patchwork bastard!" The thug lashes out at him.
" Oh it's ----.... aw that's cute she just woke up.... I'll message her back in a moment...." Dabi grins softly.
Putting his phone away he looks at the man and uses his Quirk to consume the man in flames.
" That's for being rude while I was on the phone.... maybe next time in your next life you will have some damn respect...." Dabi scolds his dying victim.
Walking away Dabi shakes the flames from his hand, pulling out his phone he decides to greet her and see what she is up to.
' Hey Doll Face good morning, guessing you are working with the people at UA today?'
' Yah but it's Sunday today and I dont have to be back at the dorms till late tonight, have some things to do with my military associates tomorrow so if you are free we can go do something. I don't know much about this city so you could always give me a tour :3'
Dabi likes the idea, he just hates having to wear concealing clothing while he is out. It comes with the territory and a chance at being with ---- is something he is fond of, it's a sense of stability that he is craving and he will go out of his way to keep it that way.
' Sounds good, there is a food festival going on tonight, anything you want my treat.'
' Wait are you sure? Sounds expensive....'
' Of course Doll Face that is why I offered, it's payment for yesterday how about that?'
' Ok ok Dabi if you insist, where are we meeting?'
' The Honai Night Market next to the rose garden, the festival is just down the street from there. I'll meet you after my work is done.'
' Sounds good Dabi I can't wait! <3'
' Have a good day see you later. :)'
Dabi puts his phone back in his pocket and continues on with his day, he has several clients he needs to tend to and recruiting that needs to be done. He walks out from the alley and sees a nice view of the market he is at, he decides to take a picture of the morning haze from the humidity down the bustling market. He sends ---- the image with a caption and waits.
' One of the markets I'm close to for my work, it's nice down here.'
Dabi watches as the dots pop up and she starts typing, he sees her message pop up and he smiles a little.
' Jealous! It's so nice down there! Definitely have to stop by sometime next week! :3'
' Next weekend I can bring you, a confectionery and sweets festival then.'
' OMG I wonder if they will have Salt Water Taffy. :P'
' Why? Im guessing that's your favorite?'
' It's been a while since I've had good Salt Water Taffy, I miss it dearly it is my comfort treat.'
' They might have it there, but hey I gotta go I have a meeting and they aren't patient.'
Dabi glares at the interruption, cracking his knuckles he prepares to take out the nuisances.
Meanwhile class has gathered at the class 1A room ready to talk about who they will be working with, ---- tells Dabi with a message she will text back when she can.
" Good morning everyone, it's good to see you are doing better Miss Drakos." Mr. Aizawa greets.
" Yes thank you." ---- gives a small smile.
" Am I dreaming or did I just see ---- smile??" Kaminari asks Kirishima.
" Yah it's uncharacteristic of her but its a nice change!" He grins.
" Continuing with what I said.... today you will be sent out on patrols with Pro's of various agencies. I will show your names and who you are going to." Mr. Aizawa tells them.
The names flash on the screen, ---- looks for her name and her stomach turns at the selection.
" Mr. Aizawa is there anyway I can change from.... my Pro Hero?" ---- asks him.
" The selection has already been made and Endeavor is expecting you." Mr. Aizawa replies curtly.
The others see her frustration in the matter but nothing can be done this time. The class gets ready and heads to the lockers, ---- puts on her outfit and heads to Endeavors agency with Shoto, Bakugo and Midoriya. She is silent on the way and says nothing to the others who are fully aware of why she doesn't want to face Endeavor. She doesn't show emotion about it and she currently is stone face. They arrive at the agency and ---- puts her faceplate on as they exit the vehicle. The four are brought in and wait for Endeavor, Shoto looks over at ---- who is slightly hunched over at the current predicament. He brushes his hand against the top of hers, ---- straightens up and looks over to her friend.
" It will be ok, we are all here for you ok?" Shoto tells her.
---- looks at him in confusion but is snapped out of it when she goes to attention at the sound of Endeavors door opening. Endeavor walks out and sees the others finally stand at the ready, Endeavor looks at ---- impressed by her discipline.
" You must be Hydra, I have been looking forward to meeting you, I heard you have a duel Quirk like my Shoto does, care to demonstrate?" Endeavor asks with his sidekicks present.
---- steps forward and puts her arms out, using her Quirk she pulls water from a water cooler in the room. She forms it into ice, then melting it then making it into a heavy fog then back to its liquid form again. Her bones form spikes along her spine and arms into armor, Endeavors sidekicks look in awe and he looks on with interest.
" You would be a good match for my Shoto in the future, in the meantime it is good to have you on our team. You will join us for our rounds in the main city center." Endeavor tells her.
" What gives you authority over me?" She lets out a low growl from her chest.
Everyone looks in shock at the exchange, Endeavor and ---- are glaring at eachother. Endeavor repostures himself and clears his throat.
" Ah yes you are a Commander in the United States Navy I apologize, your Quirks will come in handy during patrol Commander." Endeavor tells her.
" It will be an honor to work with you sir." ---- nods.
Everyone takes a sigh of relief and they all get into formation along with the four new arrivals.
" You four with me now, there are sightings of Nomu's in the inner city, let's go." Endeavor tells them.
---- and the others follow Endeavor out, they walk out to the streets and people flock to the group and wave. ---- groans not wanting so many eyes on her, people point at her and whisper amongst themselves.
" Who is that new Hero?" People ask.
---- sniffs the air and looks around, screams are heard and ---- breaks off from the crowd and turns the corner to see a huge wall of water. At the front is a misshapen creature that has a porpoise like tail and fins on its back and arms. ---- using her Quirk stops the wall of water and holds it still, the creature screams at her as Endeavor and her friends rush over.
" Good work Hydra! That Nomu is trying to flood the streets, Shoto, Bakugo go after the Nomu!" Endeavor commands.
Shoto and Bakugo chase after the Nomu, Midoriya and Endeavor help clear the civilians as ---- holds the water from hurting anyone.
Dabi looks out from an alley out of sight from the Hero's, he groans and sees Hydra holding the water still.
" Such a pain....didn't expect them to be out today." Dabi sighs to himself.
The Nomu launches at ---- and knocks her back in the alleyway close to where Dabi is, she groans and Shoto runs to her. She struggles to hold the water as she holds her head.
" ---- are you ok?!" Shoto asks.
" Get you ass back to the Nomu I'm fine! Also us my name Hydra!" ---- yells at him.
" Ah yes of course my apologies." Shoto nods and goes back to attacking the Nomu.
Dabi looks in slight shock, he hears ---- voice and backs off from her so she doesn't see him. He wants to help but knows to not interfere with Endeavor being so close by, ---- stands and uses a wall to pop her shoulder back into socket.
" Apparently I've got to do this shit all by myself...." ---- sighs out.
Dabi chuckles at seeing ---- having to do all the work for the Hero's, he is amused and watches her closely as she works.
---- closes her fingers and freezes the water solid, the Nomu falls from the water and screeches at the disruption. ---- darts after the Nomu and grabs it by the tail, in the most savage way possible she throws the Nomu around; slamming its body into the pavement. Blood splatters everywhere as ---- eyes glaze over in a bloodlust, slamming the Nomu down a final time she extends out bone spikes from the top of her forearms. With blinding speed News crews and everyone present watch her savagely rip the enemy apart.
" Hydra! Hydra calm down!" Midoriya shouts.
Hydra continues to rip into the Nomu until its in pieces, she stops and stays hunched over in a attack position. Endeavor goes to approach her but Bakugo stops him, Shoto approaches ----, her body dripping blood as she stays still.
" ----.... are you still with us?" Shoto calls to her softly.
---- feels her limbs calm down and she stands up straight, retracting her bones she looks over towards Shoto and the others.
" I am fine thank you, the threat is neutralized. I need a moment to myself please...." ---- tells him.
---- walks away and goes through a series of alleys to get away from everyone. Dabi is on a nearby roof and looks down at her with concern, he watches as ---- curls up in a ball as she leans her back against a wall. Pulling out a cigarette she lights it and rips her helmet off, she drops it down and takes a long drag off of her cigarette.
" Fuck.... my episodes are getting worse...." ---- sighs out.
---- hears her phone go off, putting the cigarette in her mouth and wiping her hands down she sits on the ground and pulls it out from a combat pouch. Looking at the message she sees its Dabi, she instantly perks up and opens up the message.
' Hope you are having a good day, text when you can.'
---- smiles softly and takes one more long drag from her half used cigarette then stomps it out.
' Hey thanks for checking on me, having a crappy day but it could be worse.'
' Need me to call for a minute?'
---- feels her cheeks flare up and she giggles like a pre-teen reacting to her crush.
' If you aren't too busy. :3'
After a few moments she sees Dabi calling her, she takes a breath and answers the phone as he looks at her from a distance.
" Hey Dabi how is your work day?" ---- asks him.
" Eh it's goin, how is your day Doll Face?" Dabi asks.
" Working with Endeavor so yah.... it could be better." ---- laughs awkwardly.
" What's so bad about working with the number 1 Hero?" Dabi asks.
" .... Can you keep a secret?" ---- tone changes.
Dabi looks down and sees her expression change for the worst, he feels terrible but now he needs to comfort her.
" Yah of course, what's on your mind ----?" Dabi asks.
" Remember when I said Hero's are responsible for me losing everyone I loved?" ---- reminds him.
It clicks for Dabi and he feels hatred for Endeavor bubble up into his body, flames flick off of his arms as he calms himself.
" Endeavor.... don't tell me that asshole is responsible...." Dabi's voice changes to a low growl.
" It wasn't just him.... others were responsible too.... I can't say too much I'm sorry." ---- apologizes.
" Hey.... hey it's ok. Don't worry tonight will just be you and me spending time with eachother ok?" Dabi comforts her.
" I can't wait, thank you so much Dabi." She smiles.
" Why what am I doing right for once?" He jests.
" Don't put yourself down like that! You are keeping my heart and mind grounded.... I'm glad to have met you Dabi." ---- smiles.
" Same.... I'm glad I met you too ----." Dabi rubs the back of his neck.
" I have to finish up with Endeavor, I'll text you throughout the day until tonight! I can't wait." ---- tells him.
" Yah I'm excited as well, you be safe ok?" Dabi agrees.
" I will I promise, see you soon." ---- nods and hangs up.
Sitting up ---- smiles and heads back to the others, she uses water to clean herself up as Dabi keeps an eye on her. As she walks back her friends check on her and Endeavor approachs carefully as well.
" Im sorry for walking away.... I'm not a fan of crowds at times, are you all ok?" Hydra asks them.
" Thanks to your reflexes and quick thinking no one was hurt. I am very impressed Hydra well done, I can see why your friend's here have been bragging about you to me." Endeavor tells her.
" I am flattered thank you sir...." ---- simply nods.
" Do you think you can keep going on patrol?" Endeavor asks.
" I'm doing much better now thank you, let us continue sir." She agrees.
Endeavor leads the way with Bakugo and Midoriya following, ---- follows with Shoto next to her. He touches her shoulder, looking over to her friend he gives her a soft smile and nod.
" You did incredible, my father is not an easy man to impress and you did it flawlessly." Shoto tells her.
" Oh thanks." She gives him an awkward smile.
As they walk away Dabi is watching Shoto touch ----, he growls and glares at that little shit touching her. Jealousy bubbles up into his gut as he spies on the pair, he isn't too mad as he watches ---- just shrug off most of his advances like he is just a friend. Still though.... he wants to burn that little shit for touching her.
" Hey Hydra you did great, we all make a pretty good team." Midoriya smiles.
" Thanks, I am still getting use to being in a team again. It has been a while since I have been in a team." She admits.
" Well in your file I can definitely put in that you are a valuable team player. You did well to hold the water off while we cleared the civilians, your quick thinking saved everyone in the area." Endeavor tells her.
" I appreciate it sir." Hydra nods.
" It's the weekend so things will be busy, anyone have any plans?" Midoriya asks.
" I am going to be spending some time with my family, father will also be joining us." Shoto comments.
" That is good to hear, I will be doing some training with All Might and with Bakugo." Midoriya nods.
" What are your plan's Hydra?" Endeavor asks.
" Not sure yet, maybe just explore around the city and have a small food tour. Get to know the locals and let them get use to me now that people recognize me a little more. The more people see me the more good rapport I will have with the civilians and other Hero's here." Hydra tells them.
" That is a fantastic idea, Shoto is famous for his duel quirks and knowing another Hero out there also has what he has that is a female will definitely make a positive mark. You are fierce, loving and you are strong which will surely gain you incredible popularity." Midoriya comments excitedly.
" I doesn't matter if I'm a girl or not, my oddity comes from the fact that I am an American in Japan. Most people here find it odd that I have decided to come here. It wasn't my choice but I am happy to be here, it is nice and I actually love Japan." Hydra smiles a little.
" We are glad you feel at home here, you are truly a valuable member of any team lucky to work with you." Endeavor nods.
Hydra just nods and zones out as the others talk amongst themselves, she just wants the patrol to be over so she can go out on the date her and Dabi have planned. She blushes thinking about it, is it a date?? She doesn't want to assume that he has a crush on her, to him this could be just a friend thing for him. Still she wonders more about him, his deep and sometimes raspy voice he has, he is tall and well built but not too overly muscular. He kept himself hidden, she wonders why he does this, is it an injury or maybe his quirk? She let's her mind wander for a while and realizes how late it is getting.
" Here, we have arrived back to UA, you all have a great weekend and I hope to work with you all again real soon." Endeavor tells them.
" See you later sir." Bakugo waves him off.
---- darts inside and to her room, she readies a shower and places out a cute outfit. Washing up she quickly hops out and sees a missed call on her phone, she sees it is Dabi and immediately calls him back. The phone rings a few times which makes ---- nervous, the phone picks up and she takes a sigh of relief.
" Hey Doll Face, you ready for tonight?" Dabi asks.
" Of course, I just hopped out of the shower I'm sorry I missed your call." ---- apologizes.
" No need to apologize lil mouse, get all cute for me and I'll meet you at the same bench we met at ok?" Dabi chuckles.
" I can't wait see you soon." ---- blushes.
---- hangs up and jumps around like a school girl, she is so excited for this and hearing the word cute come from his lips.
' It IS a date!' ---- thinks to herself.
---- puts on cute black jean shorts, a cute off shoulder shirt with a fur collar, black and blue striped thigh high socks and cute high top sneakers. She puts her phone and essentials in a cute leather corgi backpack and does her hair up in a cute updo with a clip. Putting on minimal make up she puts on duel colors for her lip stick, black on top and blue on the bottom. Putting on a little perfume she walks out while putting on a pair of sunglasses for the harsh evening sun. ---- heads out to the park where she met Dabi, walking over she sees him but this time he is in a long sleeve shirt and a trench with a hood. Getting closer he has a neck stocking on and glasses again that conceal most of his face. He looks up from his phone and immediately puts it away when he sees ----, she walks over and looks up towards him with a soft smile.
" Hey gorgeous, you look great." Dabi compliments.
" Thanks, I was covered in blood earlier.... not my blood! Some weird creature attacked and I got a little carried away." ---- blushes.
" Hey wait are you that new Hero I saw earlier? The one with the total body covering outfit?" Dabi asks.
" Oh god was it on the news? Shiiiit I didn't want you seeing that." ---- looks away embarrassed.
Dabi tilts her head towards him, he gives a soft smirk and chuckle as he looks into her eyes.
" I found it kinda hot, let's go on our date shall we? I bet you are starving after all the work I saw you do today with that weird creature. I sure as hell am after my day." Dabi tells her.
" Uh yah I really am." ---- giggles nervously.
Dabi holds her hand which makes her face burn up, Dabi brings her to the food festival and ---- looks around in awe at how beautiful it all is. Smelling the air her stomach instantly starts to growl which makes Dabi laugh.
" I could hear that, let's get some Takoyaki to start." Dabi grins.
They head to the stall selling Takoyaki nearby and wait, while there Dabi sees some teens looking ---- up and down like they are undressing her. Dabi glares at them and without her noticing flares a small blue flame. The boys stop and back away while Dabi smirks victoriously.
" Hey how much do you want?" Dabi asks ----
" Just one serving, there are so many places I wanna try more with you." ---- bounces excitedly.
" Coming right up, two servings." Dabi orders.
" Yes sir!" The man nods.
Dabi pays and after some time they get their order of Takoyaki, Dabi pulls his covering down on his jaw and takes a bite with ----. His heart swells with delight as he watches her smile and beam at the delicious treat. He isn't a fan of seafood but its fried so it tastes decent.
" Japan has the best food, I still love my American food though but this is so good." ---- smiles.
" Im glad you are enjoying yourself, there are stalls from every corner of the world here so let's go find one." Dabi mentions as he finishes his food.
" Ok fine but I am paying for the American food!" ---- smirks as she swallows her last Takoyaki ball.
" No way this is my treat." Dabi scolds her playfully.
" Jerk." ---- sticks her tongue out at him.
" Brat." He spanks her playfully.
---- grabs Dabi's hand and they walk around the festival, ---- sees a Americana food stall that is large. She brings Dabi over and he sees all the options and whistles.
" You guys have a lot of food in just one stall." He jests.
" We love to eat, what looks good to you?" ---- asks.
" That meal called Southern Comfort looks pretty good, what does it have in it?" Dabi asks.
" Some burnt ends, collard greens, some ribs, pulled pork and looks like a chicken & waffles sandwich with maple syrup." ---- explains the dish.
" Looks pretty good, I'll have that. Two orders of the Southern Comfort." Dabi asks as he pulls out his card.
" Nope!" ---- grabs his card and stuffs it between her breasts.
" The hell?" Dabi laughs.
---- quickly gives her card to the vendor and he accepts it, she gets the card back and looks up to Dabi who has his arms crossed.
" Such a naughty little brat it's almost like you want to get punished lil mouse." He smirks.
Reaching into her cleavage he grabs his card back from her and she squeaks in surprise.
" I'll let this one time slide, I suppose it's your way of treating me to your countries food." Dabi puts his card away.
" Scouts honor I wont do it again." ---- grins.
They wait for their order and it is ready rather quick, they grab their food and go sit down this time to enjoy their meal. Using a fork instead of the usual chopsticks they dig in, Dabi enjoys the pulled pork while ---- enjoys the collard greens first.
" Your food is pretty damn good, no wonder you guys enjoy eating." Dabi hums.
" Told you it was good." ---- nods.
" So I've been meaning to ask, just what are your Quirks. I didn't really see them that well earlier." Dabi asks.
" Oh yah, Water Manipulation and Cell Manipulation, see watch." ---- holds her hand up.
---- makes sharp bone claws come out of her knuckles, with her other hand she grabs some water from a nearby pond and grabs a little. Dabi looks at her impressed and holds her hand with the bone claws gently. He observes it and then looks at her, putting his hand up he summons a small blue flame. ---- looks in awe at the beautiful blue flame.
" That's so hot.... the flame I mean! Blue flames are the the hottest you know...." ---- blushes.
" Heh you're too cute." Dabi waves his flame away.
" Pretty neat that we have awesome quirks." ---- smiles.
" What about your bone thing you have? That quirk seems pretty powerful too." He mentions as he eats.
" My Cell Manipulation? It's great and all but it mostly is for my protection, the benefits to others is that I can cut through pretty much anything. I can do this by hardening my bones to become as hard as diamond. I can regenerate damaged organs too and the same with blood but at an ungodly level, I can also reattach severed limbs with ease." ---- explains her quirk.
" My organization would love to have you around." Dabi looks impressed.
" What exactly IS your organization?" ---- asks.
" Top secret for now, we fight injustice is all I can say for now." Dabi tells her.
" That sounds pretty cool though, I wouldn't mind working for an organization like that some day." ---- mentions as she eats.
" Maybe someday, damn we packed that all down. I'm still hungry are you?" Dabi asks.
" Yah, Im curious what kind of sweet treats you have here." ---- mentions.
" There is a Taiyaki stand over there." Dabi points.
" Sounds delish, oh we should hit a stand that sells drinks, after the day I've had I need one." ---- sighs out.
" Wait you can drink legally?" Dabi asks.
" Well duh, I mean I guess it's not that obvious my Commander put me at UA so one WOULD think I was a teenager but no I am 21 soon to be 22." ---- tells him.
" We should celebrate your birthday then too, let's go get some sweets and a few hard drinks." Dabi smirks.
Dabi and ---- get up and throw away the finished food box, they go and grab some Taiyaki and then head to a pop up bar. The pair sit in 2 free stools and grab some whiskey, toasting the pair down the first glass.
" That goes down smooth." ---- sighs out.
" It's an American whiskey by the looks of it, damn you guys make a nice strong and smooth drink." Dabi hums in agreement.
" This is nice, thank you so much for having this night with me." ---- smiles as she asks for more whiskey for them both.
" I like you ---- what can I say Im a sucker for a cute face and a strong woman." Dabi smirks.
" Well whenever you feel more comfortable, we could always take our relationship to the next level." ---- casually mentions.
" I like the sound of that, I like being around you ----." Dabi admits.
---- blushes and they both continue to drink more and more, Dabi feels a little tipsy but not drunk. ---- stops when she feels like she is on the edge.
" If I keep going I will be very shaky...." ---- hiccups.
" You are in no shape to go back to the housing, I'll take you to my safehouse nearby." Dabi sighs as he feels the alcohol as well.
Dabi helps ---- up and they start to walk, ---- is shaky and stops moving, Dabi stops and looks down at her.
" Walking is not going to be easy." She groans.
" I got you doll face." Dabi chuckles.
Dabi picks ---- up and she instantly clings onto his chest, she nuzzles her face into his neck as he holds her up and walks back to his safehouse. Opening his place up he closes and locks the door, its a studio apartment he uses from time to time. He removes her backpack and shoes and lays her in his bed, she nuzzles into the pillows and coos softly.
" Smells so nice...." ---- yawns.
" You get your rest doll face, I'll be right here if you need me." Dabi reassures her.
" I had lot's of fun tonight, let's have more fun later." She smiles in a sleepy way.
" We can hang out tomorrow, sleep off your impending hangover first." He chuckles and kisses her temple softly.
---- nods and passes out, Dabi removes his jacket and boots as he prepares to do some minor work for the League while he watches over her. After an hour he heads to his bed and lays on the other side, he looks over at her peaceful sleeping face and just smiles softly. Sleep finally takes him and he passes out for the night as well.
