Chapter 30: Chapter 30 Call Edward
The incident that occurred in the city of Illois, the attack by dark magical animals that injured several people in the streets. Now, it was handled by a grade 2 or 1 wizard. This incident happened and at that time there were academic students who helped. Lucas and Peter came face to face with Professor Bathilda in the study. The woman looked impressive and beautiful even though she was wearing a formal uniform.
"This case has been investigated by Adept Wizards and Expert Wizards. The attack of dark magical animals in the city of Illois is very suspicious and endangers the population. Dark magical beasts would not dare to appear in a crowd, let alone in a densely populated urban area.
"Maybe there is a wizard controlling that dark magic beast?" Lucas expressed his opinion. Lucas puffed out his cheeks. He felt very challenged if he participated in this investigation, and besides, his curiosity was very high. Unfortunately, Professor Bathilda wouldn't let a first-year student go on a dangerous mission before he had an official ranking. Such an old system makes it impossible to do anything.
There's no need for that anymore. However, Professor Bathilda asked him to stay in his office while Peter waited outside. Professor Bathilda's expression grew increasingly serious. Lucas knew that Professor Abbe was the homeroom teacher of Class 1A and was close friends with Professor Bathilda, but Lucas didn't know her at all and had met her once at a welcoming event for first year students.
Without prejudice and against the law, novice wizards who have not yet attained a rank are forbidden to undertake missions without the authority of the Academic Head or the leadership of the Moon Country. Even though this task is very important. Only second and third year students are allowed to perform tasks or missions directly ordered by the academics.
Lucas is quite capable of completing the task given by Professor Bathilda.
"I am not forcing you to do this secret mission because it is really against the academic code of ethics. The task you are doing is confidential. You must do it as well as you can." Professor Bathilda advised, looking worried, and asked Lucas to be careful about entrusting this mission to one of his trusted students. If so, it would be a serious problem.
Professor Bathilda only briefly explained Lucas' mission. There was one other thing Lucas wanted to tell Professor Bathilda.
There is a thing where Lucas won't tell his secret to anyone, including Peter. It can be inferred that this is not really a secret, including the attack on the Illois Magic Academy. "Lucas, your mom and dad still love you. Call them when you get a chance."
The smile was very sincere and strange memories floated through his mind. Someone in the past had smiled so sincerely, but who knew where and who? Lucas couldn't remember.
On the way to the classroom, Lucas kept thinking about Professor Bathilda's words. So far, Lucas was still hesitant to contact Edward and Karina, especially when he accidentally turned on his cell phone, which suddenly turned off. So many unanswered calls and so many messages. The calls and messages were all from Karina.
All the messages contained expressions of Karina's sadness, fear, and anger. Lucas was again hesitant to contact Karina, but there was no problem at all if he contacted Edward.
There are still fifteen minutes until the end of the break. Lucas looks for a comfortable place to sit. The Illois Magic Academic Building has a unique design, each classroom has a small balcony, usually when students are bored, they choose to relax on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful view.

It didn't take long before the call was with someone Lucas had missed so much. Edward, the father figure, is humorous and always makes conversation fun. The first thing Edward asked was how he was doing.
"It's very nice here, Dad."

There was silence for a moment, no conversation at all, and Lucas didn't know what else to say. The only thing that came to his mind was to ask about Karina's news, but his mouth seemed to have trouble expressing anything.

Even though Lucas and Edward only communicated by phone, it was as if the man could read his mind.
[Go home for a while. Mom and Dad are waiting for you at home].
Lucas replied briefly and maybe after the semester exams were over, there was a week's vacation, Lucas took the time to go home. One thing was still on his mind.
"Does Grandpa know that I joined the Magic Academy?"

"You really can't take a joke." Lucas waved his hands in the air, revealing an innocent face like that of a child.
Cloe gripped the hammer handle tightly. "Lucas, you have disturbed me again. Your life will vanish in my hands."
Very scary. Lucas shrugged his shoulders, showing an expression of fear that was clearly fake.
