Avina didn't answer him immediately. Instead, she looked around the room.

'How minimalistic,' Avina commented. The most color in here might just be her in her beige plaid outfit.

"You get a lot of girls like that?" Avina opened her mouth and asked, "You know, girls trying to climb up the work ladder?"

That would explain all those gazes she was subjected to. Although the clothes she was wearing wasn't revealing, it certainly wasn't the neat and tidy work clothes everyone else was wearing, and anyone would only assume the worst when looking at her.

And with the way Alistair said it, it seemed it was a regular occurrence for a young, attractive girl to come to his office, trying to climb the ranks. Avina would certainly argue that she was indeed young and attractive and very much so a girl.

Alistair's typing halted for the second time, and he finally lifted his head from his work. "Vedonna?"
