Chapter 31: Wrong Move

Damien's POV:

I am officially doomed. 

What the hell was I thinking? Agreeing to let my ex-fiancée crash at the pack house, while my mate is heavily pregnant with twins? A walking, talking storm of emotions due to the two alphas growing inside her belly, Leslie's moods have been wild and unpredictable. I love every second of it when it's her desire that takes over, but this? This is a whole new level of "I've-screwed-up" I hadn't prepared for.

It dawned on me—too late, of course—that pregnant Leslie is terrifying when angry. Like, tear-the-house-down terrifying. But what was I supposed to say to Elara? "No, you can't stay because my mate, who's carrying my twins, is already on edge and might just tear your head off at the sight of you?" I mean, it sounds reasonable now, but when Elara messaged me saying she was "in the area" and needed a place to stay, I stupidly agreed. And now? Now I'm paying for it.
