It was as if the entire attack had been a diversion—a ploy to draw everyone's attention while they carried out their real objective. Leah had planned this meticulously. The rogues and witches had organized themselves with precision, creating chaos and engaging our pack at every border to weaken our defenses. As soon as they had my twins, the attackers fell back, fading into the shadows with terrifying swiftness.

I realized then that every part of the attack had been intentional, every rogue and witch sent into battle a pawn in Leah's twisted game. They'd never meant to conquer the pack; they'd only needed enough distraction to snatch my children. My fists clenched, my mind racing.
