Damien's POV:

It had been two weeks. Two long, agonizing weeks since we first caught wind of Leah's possible return, and still, nothing. No sign of her, no whispers of her movements, not even a hint of when she might strike. It was unnervingly quiet, and that silence gnawed at me more than the thought of her impending attack.

I paced my office, feeling the weight of the stillness press against my chest. Every day that passed without any news made me more anxious. It wasn't like Leah to stay quiet for so long. 

I had made sure the borders were heavily guarded, strengthened with warriors on high alert. I wasn't about to let Leah slip through unnoticed, not after everything we'd been through. The pack was restless, sensing the tension in the air, though I kept them in check. Patrols were increased, and I ensured every line of defense was in place. Still, the silence was unnerving.
