A month later N-Tek's secret base
"He's waking up, get his mother here now before he starts to overreact." Is the first thing I hear when I wake up. I slowly open my eyes to find out I'm in an unrecognizable yet familiar room. I pull off the cables on my body and get up into a seated position.
I look around me wondering where the hell am I. I don't know why but the room really was familiar like I was here a long time ago. Before I could start panicking at being alone in a mostly unfamiliar place my mother walks into the room.
My mind latches on the only recognizable thing in the room, her. She was about 5'10 with blond hair nearing platinum, she looked like she was in her early twenties, but I know she was actually in her early to mid thirties.
She had a light tan and bright jade green eyes. Her hair was in a ponytail and her jaw line was smoother compared to my chiseled one. She gave off this aura or vibe completely different to this morning, more militaristic somehow.
Now that I look at her, I realized a lot of details I glossed over such as how her hair is more platinum at the roots and how there's a little silver in her eyes.
"How are you feeling, does anything hurt?" she asks me worry seeping through her voice. "I'm fine, just a little confused and irritated," I reply to her. She sighs and gives me a hug.
I hug her back, right before my mind comes back to the room, I was in. "By the way where are we?" I ask her a puzzled look on my face. "An old hideout for when your dad needed a break," she replies.
"A break from what?" was my immediate response the only reply I received being "Work." "Who was that speaking when I woke up?" I ask her causing her to become quite for a while.
"Your head of security," she says confusing me even more. "Since when did I need a head of security?" I ask honestly wanting to know the answer. "Since your dad went MIA," she tells me. I stop talking and try to process what she said. Before I could completely understand, process or internalize what has been said a man walks in the room.
This man was tall and barrel chested, his height seemed to be around 7"0 he had a mechanical arm, it wasn't on the level of the winter soldiers, but it was close. I don't know how I knew but I knew things about his mechanical arm, and his face looked oh so familiar.
Like a cartoon character I remember seeing or someone I saw long ago. After looking at his green and white body armour with an N logo something in my memories was triggered.
This was further confirmed when he called out my name "Hello Jake Mc'Grath, I'm your head of security." 'He just called me Mc'Grath didn't he,' flashes through my mind. 'No, No, No, No, I can't I won't I don't want to. If it's what I think it is my life became a whole lot harder.'
"My name is Forge Barnes and I'm your uncle," he goes on to say. 'He's my mother's brother huh, why does he look like a white-haired Forge Ferrus.' I think, 'Wait he said his last name is Barnes, as in Bucky Barnes, just when I thought my life couldn't get worse.'
I blink while I think and sit still in shock as a I look at this man in complete confusion. "No wonder you looked familiar," I say. "You really do look like your father," he replies and continues on while my mind tries to wrap around what I've been told. "Welcome to N-Tek."
"Where is Steel," my mother asks Forge a serious look on her face. "Busy," Forge replies, "He's pushing our agenda to unite the planet." "Where," she asks him a slight frown on her face. "Africa." My mother immediately storms out the room. "Molly!" Forge calls out following after her.
An Hour Later
I start feeling uncomfortable and irritated sitting down so I stand up to do some stretches hoping it will go away. Considering I was by myself it helped quell the boredom. Suddenly I fall back wracked in pain as something seemed to leave my body in pulses.
I don't know what it was, I couldn't see it as my eyes were partially closed but I could feel it and it felt powerful. So powerful it felt like my body was ripping apart. 'This is freaking TURBO energy isn't it,' I think on the verge of passing out.
Suddenly a silvery blur crashes into my chest and I find myself in a nice-looking piece of sci-fi armour. "Hey, my names Alloy and I'm guessing you're Jake," a voice appears in my head. "Yeah, I am and what the fuck is happening?" I ask.
"I'm your Ultralink and Steel's my father, you see this sweet armour, this is us," Alloy replies. "I think I'll call us Turbo." I say, "That's waaay better than what our parents went by," he replied.
