Chapter 27: Reached the destination

We headed straight to the village without wasting a single minute as the sun will rise in just 5 hours, I just simply predicted it but I didn't know how accurate it could be as there was no watch in this world. My mind was in a panic, Catherine was a morning person, she woke up before the sun rose, if she found me missing from my cradle, I didn't want to even imagine her reaction, she would turn the village upside down.

"Umm, now go straight from here and then…" I was telling the direction of the village to shear, but after eating the two whole Night saber wolf she just became too fast as if she gain their ability to run faster, I could barely keep up with her.

All the wind was going into my eyes like

a sharp arrows and I could slightly open my eyes. My eyes were getting teary because of the wind. It was already very difficult to grasp the direction of the village, because of the weird fog of this forest.

Thanks to Aura(System) that helped me, she told me the short and easy way to the village, I didn't have any problem with the direction except for teary-eyes because of the wind.

Kristin didn't have to face this problem, she closed her eyes very hard the moment Shear picked up her pace, she was scared that we might crash into some tree because of our speed.

[Huh, she is scared of weird things now, although it is normal for a little girl like her to get scared bumping into the tree, however, after going through all the hell tonight, I thought her heart might have got used to this without any problems. I guess I was wrong.] I thought.

Soon a yellow light reflected in my eyes, the light was coming from burning torches of the village, it was to keep the

monsters and wild animals away from the village, and if someone somehow accidentally lost in the forest, then it can help them to find this place, seeing these torches he could guess and know that this was a human village and he could get some help.

I had already instructed Shear not to go too close to the village if any of the guards saw her then it would only cause a huge commotion for no reason and I didn't want to deal with any unnecessary problems at that time. It couldn't be possible to explain to the villager why an Orc was bringing us in front of the village or how did she even bring us from outside or they might get too scared to even think about it. It's good that I had already thought about this thoroughly.

Shear hid behind a few trees and dense bushes at some distance from the village, shear didn't make any loud noise that would have attracted the guard's attention. She kneeled her one knee on the ground and put both me and Kristin down on the ground gently.

"Yawn, why did we stop? Where are we?"

Kristin rubbed her eyes, not knowing that we had finally reached our destination, our village.

Shear was grinning, she had been like this since she killed the night saber wolf,

she was eagerly waiting for my next order, her eyes were full of courage and confidence. She was waiting for her next order ardently. However, at that time, I didn't have any other particular task for her.

She already full filled her first task, although there were some blunders and mistakes, the job was completed and we reached our village safely for that reason all of her errors were forgotten.

I ordered her to return to the cave, her grin faded away and she was a bit sad but she couldn't have the courage to disobey me, she nodded her head in approval and said. "Okay, master."

I could saw the hesitation in her eyes, she was worried about something, I didn't know what it was at that time.

She vanished inside the forest in a second. after Shear's image completely vanished I turned towards Kristin to tell her that we had reached our village.

When I turned to her, I saw two lines of  tears on her cheek which were coming from her eyes, she did not cry seeing the Orcs in the cave nor she cried when we fought with the night saber wolf but after

Seeing the sight of our village her emotions exploded like a volcano, she broke out in tears and hiccups, only she knew how much she had suffered this hellish night.

She finally let loose of her pent-up emotions and big tears were coming out from her eyes continuously, I didn't stop tried to console her as it was going to help, her emotion flooded and it would not calm until she cried her eyes out.

Although I kept saying how brave she was and she did not cry even after being captured by orcs and all the things that happened after that, but she was still a 4-year-old powerless child and it was too much for children of her age.

After half an hour later she finally calmed down and stopped crying, her eyes became red and swollen, and they were

still wet, when our eyes met she got flustered and wiped her teary eyes.

"I did not cry, some dust spec had gone in my eyes, it's true I did not cry." She said rubbing her eyes, she didn't want to show her weak side hence she tried to hide it with her lie. After she calmed down we decided to check the mood inside the village and we would sneak when we got the chance.

The village was quiet as always, there was no particular commotion in the village, which indicated that our parents had not found out that we sneaked(missing) from our homes.

I was relieved that no one found out at that moment in the time, but we had to do something quickly as they didn't have much time left.
