Gariel chuckled, a deep rumble that resonated through his chest. "Not quite, little one. There are many paths to strength, and mine is different from those who wield swords and armor."

He paused, glancing at the strange, shimmering wings beneath his eyes. "Perhaps I'm something… more," he murmured to himself, the words barely audible.

Yolaa, oblivious to his internal struggle, tilted her head in curiosity. "More than human?" she asked, her eyes wide with innocence. "Like an angel?"

Gariel hesitated. His heritage was a complex one, a blend of angelic and… something else. He wasn't sure how to explain it to a child. "Let's just say I can protect those who need it," he said finally, hoping it was enough.
