"Let's get married!"
These were the first words Gu Yining said when she saw the man.
Her large, round eyes fixed earnestly on the man before her.
The man she was proposing to—Fu Hanyan.
In the black-and-white toned office, the tall man sat in a leather swivel chair, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit. Though his posture was relaxed, it couldn't hide the aura of cold nobility that surrounded him.
Afternoon sunlight streamed in, casting shadows on his deep, chiseled features that looked like a masterpiece sculpted by God—flawless in every way.
His gaze swept over the woman in front of him, who looked messy, unattractive, and, he had to admit, surprisingly bold.
She appeared to be in her early twenties, wearing a dirty white T-shirt and denim shorts. Her skin was pale, and her eyes were dark and bright, with features that were fairly passable.
But there was a striking blue-black birthmark on her left cheek that stretched all the way to her brow, lending a hint of menace to her face.
It nearly ruined the entire appearance.
This was the woman.
Just ten minutes ago, she'd managed to crash the security system of the entire Fu Corporation building. She had broken through a group of robust security guards and successfully stormed into his office to stand before him.
Behind her, Fu Hanyan's assistant and the bodyguards took in her words, gasping.
This audacious, ugly woman.
She hadn't broken through the Fu Corporation's security to steal trade secrets or negotiate for a project; she'd done it to propose to Fu himself!
And in such a blunt and crude manner.
It was like a toad wanting to feast on a swan.
As if Fu would ever agree to that!
"Do we know each other?" Fu Hanyan's deep eyes shifted as he parted his cold lips.
Gu Yining smiled and shook her head, extending a friendly hand toward him. "It's not too late to get acquainted now. Hello, Fu Hanyan, I'm Gu Yining."
Fu Hanyan's long fingers rested casually on the desk, making no move to shake her hand.
He exuded an air of indifference, keeping her at a distance.
"Gu Yining, the third daughter of the Gu family?"
"Yes, that's me." She admitted openly, seeming quite proud of the name.
Rumor had it that the third daughter of the Gu family, Gu Yining, was notorious in Lingtown as an ugly fool, utterly incomparable to her two stunning and talented older sisters.
Old Master Fu had been looking to the two elder Gu sisters for a potential fiancée.
He had never even considered this third daughter.
Yet here she was, boldly putting herself forward, shamelessly suggesting marriage as if she could steal away her sisters' good fortune.
The kind of greedy, oblivious woman that stirred up a trace of contempt in Fu Hanyan's heart.
But he still wanted to give this woman, who seemed utterly unaware of her own limitations, a chance.
"If you want me to choose you, give me a reason."
Gu Yining saw a chance to continue the conversation and her confidence soared.
She quickly pulled up a chair, sitting down in front of Fu Hanyan, edging closer.
The encroaching closeness made his handsome brows furrow, his deep eyes flashing with a chilling aloofness.
He did not like women getting too close to him.
"Please, step back from our president." His assistant, Li Feng, stepped forward, offering a polite warning.
This woman was pushing the president's boundaries.
Gu Yining ignored him, unfazed, as she unfastened her bag and, without haste, pulled out a black handgun.
The sight of the weapon froze everyone's breath.
Fu Hanyan remained as calm as ever, his thin lips curving slightly, his cold eyes scrutinizing the woman before him.
He thought, is this woman really trying to force a marriage?
