Synopsis
Mr. Johnson's stepdaughter, whom he had been taking care of for fifteen years, surprisingly ran away, and she disappeared for five years.
Five years later, Mr. Johnson finally found her.
Mr. Johnson, looking at his bride-to-be, who had turned into a beauty, said, "If you can come up with a decent excuse, I might be gentle with you later."
Amanda Smith awkwardly said, "Well, I... I was hesitating."
"That's a fairly good reason, you've been hesitating for five years. It's time to decide, right?"
Amanda Smith looked at him sorrowfully, "I, I have hesitated so long, I've forgotten how to decide."
"Oh, no problem, just decide on me. After all, I'm quite good at catching people!"

Write a reviewUnrelatable FL and an unlikeable ML. This isn’t a trope I enjoy; where we meet a FL who is desperately in love with a guy and apparently has been for years, but zero reasoning is given. In fact, when you meet the ML he is at best disdainful of Amanda Smith, at worst violently abusive and demeaning. But hey, as she puts it, you “can’t help who you like.” The first 21 chapters are full of examples of young Mr Johnson’s loathing of Amanda Smith. Clearly the foundation is being set for a gentle, loyal FL who loves her man (despite his many flaws) being pushed too far. At that point you can expect the ML to reach an epiphany of how suddenly she matters and having to chase her and earn forgiveness. That switch off of emotions for one person corresponding to the lightbulb switch on for the other. Alas, I found the FL to be a dumb doormat and the ML to be a perpetrator of DV and sexual assault. I didn’t like either of them and found both to be unrelatable and unsympathetic characters. I dare say the story will redeem them as it goes forward and there will be angst and regret, it’s just that I would rather be alone forever than get with this ML after what he did. Its inexcusable. Also, quick caution; anyone who has experienced abuse or SA may find this story (at least the beginning) to be triggering. I can’t speak for the ending as I will be dropping it but you can see who the MCs are and so can reasonably predict some outcomes. On the plus side, the writing style and grammar seem good so far and that’s always a plus here, especially if you will spend coins on the story.

First, I will say the author writes well. you want to know what happens next. not a lot of Grammer problems. Has the makings of a great novel. However, it is not my cup of tea. the first few chapters were so full of angst. The hotel incident and her response to it was the last straw for me. I dropped the book. granted, the dude may sometime in the future suddenly realize that he loves her and she would resist a little then forgive all and have her dream romance. but I don't think anything would make up for the hotel incident. she deserves better. If you're into that, I guess you'd like the book. if, like me, you like fluffy romance with wife doting ML who respects and treats FL well, you may not like this book.
