Chapter 67: The Truth Unfolds
"Where should I begin?" he asked himself.
"Yes, that's it, you and I aren't so different.
when I was young my parents and I would often get mistreated by the whole village, we moved out because it was too much, my father always blamed me and wished I wasn't born but my mother always helped me, she was the kindest person I have ever met, she would often help others, even if they didn't want it or need it she would try her best.
One day when I came back home, I found a great surprise. I was getting a younger brother, I celebrated like it was my birthday, my father, being the coward he was, saw this chance to smack me." Ryuu's eyes widened.
"Don't mess your younger sibling up the way you messed my life up, is that clear?!, that's what he told me while he was hitting me, but anyway, this story isn't about him.
when my mother got pregnant again, she was weak and she couldn't help me when my father lost his temper, one day he had a sudden change of heart, I was a child who sought my father's approval, so I followed him."
"Father, Father, where are we going?" he looked back and said, "We're going on a hunting trip, you and me, we're going to have so much fun right?" The young Krueger nodded.
"When we reached the hunting grounds, he was different, he couldn't even look me in the eye and would get annoyed at small matters."
"Maybe we should go to sleep early, we have a long journey ahead." He nodded.
"That same night I woke up and needed to go to the toilet, but…"
he folded his fist as he remembered that night.
"Father! I can't move!" he tried to speak, but his voice was just echoing in his head.
"My father tied me up while I was asleep, I yelled for help but ultimately ran out of energy, I was starving and thirsty, my wrists had become numb and I couldn't move.
He left me for dead, a few days passed and I was starving, and dehydrated I thought things couldn't get any worse but then I heard a wolf, I tried escaping but nothing happened, my body wasn't moving, that's when I realized, I was in a genjutsu!"
Ryuu's eyes widened.
"Your father put you in a genjutsu?" he nodded.
"when I released the genjutsu, I woke up with tears in my eyes and bruises all around my body, my eyes felt as if they were burning, and that's when I awakened my Sharingan, I had a two tomoe from the jump but that didn't matter to me, I saw I was locked up in a cave, at first it was an empty cave but when I looked around I realized, this wasn't a regular cave, animals slept there, there were many bones and fur that laid on the floor, and by the corner, I found a young black wolf, injured and alone, just like me, just when I thought I could befriend it, the pack returned, I tried getting out of the chains but ended up alerting them.
I got a permanent scar to remind me of what happened next."
he held his right side.
"Those wolves attacked me, they mauled me alive and unable to defend myself, I could feel all their teeth sinking into me and all their claws digging into my chest, and all I had in my mind all that time is rage, all I thought about on my last breath is my revenge against my father's betrayal, and with that in my mind, I felt tears of blood on my cheek then my eyes changed to what you see today.
It would've been too late for anyone at this point but, while I was getting eaten alive, I felt a burning sensation that flowed through my blood.
I felt it burning through everything, through the pain, the injuries, and through all the wolves that attacked me, I felt as if I earned a new purpose a purpose which I was to fulfill, to kill my father, to kill Hanzo Uchiha!" Ryuu widened his eyes.
"Impossible," Ryuu said, but Rikuto nodded.
"You see Ryuu, my name isn't 'Krueger'. My name is Rikuto, Rikuto Uzumaki.
I'm sure you can understand why I wouldn't want our father's name, right?" Hearing all that frightened Ryuu, he couldn't even speak, and his breathing became heavy.
'My father wouldn't do such a thing, would he?' He asked himself.
"As I was saying, I survived that attack, I killed one wolf with my hands and fed its corpse to the wounded one, which I kept as a pet.
I found a torn-up mask in this cave, figured it must've been from an old man who got attacked and I wore it then I used the skin from the remaining wolves for clothes, I didn't heal my wound because I wanted it to remain as a reminder of why I fought so hard.
I began training, for months I trained hard and meanwhile, tales of the great 'Crimson Claw' spread, every time someone mentioned his name I felt sick, my anger would get to me and I would begin transforming, the only solution I saw was the death of our father, and so, I came back to the village hidden in the leaf, but when I did I found our mother giving birth, I couldn't kill my father because he was the one who delivered the baby, my younger brother,
'Ryuu Uchiha'.
Memories of when I wanted to have a little brother flooded and before I knew it, I froze up, how stupid.
Everything I worked hard for, everything I wanted was right in front of me and I froze up, pathetic.
As the years went by, I would always sneak into the village to watch and protect you, I found it strange how a child knew so much, but I also remembered that I used to be the same, however, I attended a day in the academy; I was homeschooled by him.
The day that Danzo and his men attacked I was conflicted, it was once again the perfect time to strike against Hanzo, but yet again I froze up, but it was different that time, any time I saw a root member pass through I would end up killing them, I ended up slaughtering them all;
I carried our father's corpse and took him to the house, while I picked him up, I realized he was using his Mangekyou Sharingan; he didn't even have them, instead; he had a two tomoe Sharingan but my thoughts were brief.
When I entered the room, I saw my mother dead on the floor; she had taken her own life because of a dangerous seal; I dragged my father's dead body near her and waited for you; I distracted Danzo and waited for you.
After you awakened the Sharingan, I immediately placed a special fuinjutsu that would protect you from anyone who had ill will toward you.
Jiraiya came by and I left, since then I have followed you, to protect and to learn about you, unfortunately, I couldn't interact with you yet.
You were never alone, that was the case until I found you near that waterfall and you know the rest."
Could what he said be true?
"You're lying." he weakly said.
Rikuto tilted his head in confusion.
"You're lying!" Ryuu's flames started appearing.
"Stop! you'll hurt yourself." He rushed to me and did something, the flames went away as quickly as they came back.
"Hmph, it's funny, the way you look so desperate, it's like you genuinely care if I live or die."
He ignored me and continued taking away my flames.
After he was done, he left and came back with a sword that looked exactly like mine.
"We both know the rules of this sword, If I am lying, this sword will come out with my heart and if I'm telling the truth, the sword will simply pass through my chest, after all, I am who made this weapon.
Are you ready?"
"Wait!" he shoved the sword through his chest and nothing happened.
"Now do you see? Why would I lie to you?"
Before I knew it, tears flowed through my eyes, so many emotions all at once, I didn't know how to feel, but I knew one thing, my father, no.
Our father was not a hero, he deserved what he got for what he did, and the more I thought about it, the more my wrath grew.
"Ryuu, what I will tell you next will hurt you, so I'll show you instead."
He closed his eyes for a second and opened them again.
"What is this place?" Ryuu asked.
I woke up in a different world, my head was hurting and my body was cold.
"Ryuu, the day I got you after you transformed was a day even I hate to remember.
Your friends, Minato Namikaze, he was like an elder brother to you, and Kakashi Hatake, he's your closest friend, I envy him.
That's why I hate to tell you, you killed them."
Ryuu's eyes widened.
"Let me show you."
I blinked and then woke up in the forest of death.
It was just like I remembered it, burned to a crisp, and some fire still lit.
"Ryuu, calmly down!"
I looked behind me and Minato and Kakashi were there.
"Kakashi!" Ryuu ran to them and tried to hug them, but passed through them.
"They're not real." He said.
"Ryuu, you're going to hurt someone, calm down!" Kakashi said.
I looked to where they were looking and saw a red monster with a tail full of spiky bones, its teeth were bigger than a hand, it had slicked back solid hair and an aura of red fire with burning eyes.
I immediately identified myself.
Minato threw a Kunai towards me but it didn't make it and burned by the aura itself.
It made a chilling noise as it made a red ball of flame on its hand.
"Kakashi, have to stop him before things get messy." He nodded.
Minato threw Kunai toward me.
'Shuriken multi shadow clone!"
He continuously teleported, trying to cut me.
"Look out!"
Minato teleported away but ended up being cut in his hand.
"Damn it, he's so fast he can react to my Flying Raijin.
Kakashi, Run and call for help."
He nodded.
"But what about you sensei?" He asked.
"Just go, Ryuu's too powerful like this. We'll need all the help we can get."
Kakashi nodded and ran.
I tried to stab Kakashi as he ran.
"No!" Kakashi's eyes widened as Minato got in the way, I stabbed him through the chest taking his heart with him.
"Sensei," Ryuu whispered as he watched.
"Kakashi Run!" Ryuu yelled, even though he couldn't be heard.
Kakashi dropped Minato down and ran.
The monster burned Kakashi and Minato just before it took its first step Rikuto came.
He made one arm full of Phoenix Flame and took mine away, then he carried me away.
Once the memory was over, Ryuu was breathing hard and cried in silence.
"That can't be real." Ryuu weakly said.
"The ability of my Mangekyou is a strong genjutsu that only shows memories that exist, I used it to show you what we saw, I can't change memories."
He dispelled the genjutsu.
As soon as we were back, I began shivering in anger; it was the first time I could move, while I was in this much pain.
When I realized that, I stood up.
Rikuto widened his eyes.
"How is that possible?" Ryuu looked at him.
"The pain I've experienced through this is nothing compared to the anger I have."
He tried to cover his eyes as if he was in pain, then his three tomoe began spinning around; it separated into a sixteen-pointed star with 2 thin circles around them, three tomoe around it.
"I could feel my eyes getting stronger and even stranger, I could feel something else, someone else, is it Phoenix Flame?"
When chakra went in his eye, Ryuu entered some other dimension where a giant eye stared at him, he looked at it; it looked back like a watchful eye; it had some ripples around itself and was a shadow in front of a bright white light; I ignored it and snapped back to reality.
My eyes were bleeding.
Rikuto had hugged me, I could feel tears coming from his eyes to my back.
"I thought you wouldn't accept me, but I was wrong and I'm sorry you had to wait this long."
I hugged him back.
After that he made me some lunch, it appears he also inherited our mother's talent to cook great food.
While I was eating, I remembered a question I wanted to ask.
"Where did the name Krueger Nakamura come from, and how did you always get inside Konoha without being caught?"
"The name Krueger is just a name, the first name that came to my mind, and as for Nakamura, it's the name I gave my wolf, so I took it, I made up a whole new identity.
The war was still going on and this was before we caught spies; they didn't have time to go into deep detail, so they let me in.
I made this identity so I don't have to sneak in to check on you, as for how I could deceive all of them, it's because of this." He held his hand up and removed a dark and thick smoke.
"What is that?" Ryuu asked.
"This is one of many abilities you get because of your Mangekyou Sharingan and Phoenix Flame, which leads me to the next topic, I would like to train you, not for long though, I know how deeply you care for that village, and that's why I will train you, the last time you made a move with Phoenix Flame you nearly destroyed a part of the village so I would like to help you prevent that from happening, do we have a deal?"
He's right, I used Phoenix flame and nearly killed many people, including Kushina, plus I killed Minato and Kakashi
Ryuu stopped eating.
"One last question." He nodded.
"Do you care about the village?" he shook his head.
"No, my loyalties are only to you, myself, and Nakamura, there might be an exception to the people you care about, but that's it, I don't trust anyone other than you and Nakamura."
Ryuu nodded.
After a regretful day and some great dinner, I slept and waited for training in Phoenix flame and discovering my Mangekyou abilities, but mostly I want to go home. All those people are hurting because of me and the village is weaker now.
"I have to get stronger." He said before closing his eyes.
