Chapter 187: Shisui Uchiha falls
"Hurry! We can't let him escape!" Shisui was in their eyesight.
They threw multiple Kunai and shurikens toward him.
Cling! Cling! He deflected them, but then…
*Poof!* one kunai turned out to be a fake that exploded and released a toxic gas.
Shisui got away, but he was too late.
His movement slowed down, and then he kneeled in front of them as the six foundation members held Kunai with explosive tags on them.
"This is it! Shisui Uchiha!
Aim for the legs, not the face." Sugaru commanded.
"Right!"
They aimed at Shisui and fired.
Whoosh…
At the last second, Shisui's left eye spun around and formed a four-pointed pinwheel.
Boom!
The explosion was enormous, leaving a lot of dust and debris everywhere.
Inside the dust, they could see a slightly visible glimpse of a green aura.
Sugaru and his comrades saw red eyes before…
Green senbon traveling incredibly fast from inside the smoke headed towards them.
Sugaru was quick enough to escape, but some of his comrades weren't, and they ended up dying.
"Tch!" Sugaru clicked while getting ready to fight.
"Wh- what is that?"
A green humanoid with a red tomoe in the middle of its chest and Shisui stood in the middle of it.
This power shocked the root members in front of him, but their worries were short because Shisui's Susanoo slowly faded away.
Shisui was losing his footing and wobbling a little.
"Get him!"
They threw their other Kunai, and they hit him; he started bleeding from everywhere.
"We got him!"
Just as Shisui's body hit the floor, he started getting into a fit and from his body, flocks of crows started growing.
"No! Genjutsu! Close your eyes!"
"It's too late… you're both already in my genjutsu…" Shisui spoke in their heads.
Shisui stabbed both of them with his kunai and then he raced out of there.
While he was running, he took out the box that Ryuu gave him and opened it.
A syringe with a yellow fluid inside was covered well with a red cloth.
'The effects of this poison are heavier than I expected.
Ryuu-sensei…'
Shisui took the syringe and injected himself with it.
'Sensei said I should be feeling the effects immediately.
I hope I can get to Itachi soon before that.'
Shisui thought as he sped up.
When he got to Itachi, it was already dark, and Itachi was behind a boulder.
Itachi felt leaves falling and looked up.
"Shisui?" He asked.
"Come with me," Shisui said to Itachi as he continued running.
Itachi didn't question him and followed immediately.
They met again at their usual cliff.
"It seems we can't prevent the Uchiha Coup d'état with this plan.
There civil war erupts from Konoha, and the other villages will invade for sure, and true war will break out.
I just hope Ryuu-sensei and you will be there to stop it from happening.
When I tried to stop this with Kotoamatsukami, Danzo stole my right eye.
That man doesn't trust me at all.
He intends to protect the village his way, no matter how it looks.
I suspect he'll come after my left eye, so I'll leave it to you before he has a chance."
Shisui plucked out his other eye.
"Shisui…"
"You and sensei are the only ones I can count on, my best friend. And my idol.
Protect the village and the Uchiha name, both of them." Itachi took Shisui's eye and implanted it into his socket.
"Alright, I accept it.
What will you do now?"
"If I die, many things will change. I left a note," Shisui said as he backed up to the edge of the cliff.
"Don't stop me, Itachi.
If you're truly my friend."
Shisui let himself go over the edge of the cliff.
Unconsciously, Itachi's body moved to stop his friend.
"Shisui!" He cried out as he reached for him.
But it was too late…
Shisui was too far down.
Minutes after seeing his best friend die, Itachi stayed staring at the river.
'Shisui…' Itachi called out his friend's name in his head while his eyes were closed.
Blood leaked from his eyes.
And once he opened them, three spiraling curves around the pupil formed in his eyes.
A Few minutes after that, Ryuu arrived. It was a clone, sent to check on him while the real one was in a disclosed location.

While all this happened, Obito and Shisui were below the waterfall.
This was part of Ryuu's plan.
Whether they considered this cold-hearted, this was the life of a shinobi.

They were standing inside a hidden cave above the river, and both of them looked outside while waiting for Ryuu's signal.
"Shisui, you alright?"
Shisui turned to Obito and replied,
"Yeah, I'm fine, where's Ryuu-sensei?"
"He sent a clone to Itachi while he prepares for the surgery."
"I see…
Obito, I've wanted to ask…
Do you believe his plan will work?"
Obito seemed shocked to hear such a question, so he asked,
"Of course, and you? You're his student, after all."
"I do, it's just…" Shisui struggled to speak his mind, he didn't know what to think after what happened.
"Look, Ryuu knows what he's doing it's better if we follow his, leads otherwise we'll only make things worse." Shisui nodded.
Obito took Shisui and teleported into one of Ryuu's hideouts on the outskirts of Konoha.
They were in a forest, a small house with a single bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
Poof!
Ryuu was playing cards with three clones, they dispersed shortly after their arrival.
"You ready, Shisui?"
"Ready for what? You told me nothing other than jumping off the river and trusting you and Obito."
Ryuu unsealed another small box.
"Sorry, I can't tell you much about what I'm planning.
All I can do is ask for you to trust me, I know it must be hard trusting me after the things I've been doing but…
You'll come around, especially after you get these."
Ryuu opened the box and two Sharingan's were inside a small plastic bag filled with water.
"More Sharingan?"
"Shisui, these aren't regular Sharingan.
These are Mangekyou Sharingan and not just any Mangekyou.
These are the eyes of Kagami Uchiha."
Shisui's eyes widened.
"What?"
"You heard me correctly.
These are your grandfather's eyes.
After implanting them, you'll have the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.
A weaker version, but still."
"But…
How did you get them?"
"Do you remember those creatures that attacked the village during the nine-tails attack?"
"Yes, the white Zetsu you spoke of."
Ryuu nodded.
"In exchange for an arm made of their flesh, Danzo somehow got Kagami's eyes and traded them.
I like to think he stole them while Kagami died rather than after, but it doesn't help much.
Anyway, during the war, I found them with Orochimaru and I traded them for a White Zetsu clone, and now.
Now I'm giving them to you, they're more useful to you than to anyone else."
"I see…"
"You ready? I'll be sending my clone to take care of you while I'm gone.
You'll be bedridden for a month."
"In the meantime, I'll make sure Itachi is alright."
Shisui nodded.
Ryuu removed his eye and kept it sealed safely.
He implanted Kagami's eyes into Shisui's socket.
After an hour, it was done, Ryuu wrapped Shisui's eyes in bandages and then put a pillow under his head.
"Relax for now, I'll be back in a month to see how your eyes will be."
"Thank you, sensei."
"Yeah, no problem, Shisui."
Ryuu teleported to Sakumo's office.
Only Kakashi and Tenzo were guarding him tonight.
He had to wait for Ryuu to report back before leaving.
Ryuu wore his Anbu gear and appeared in front of Sakumo and took a knee.
"Shisui is dead.
The clan has lost some momentum for the coup. But they still have hope that Obito and I will carry out the attack."
"I see…"
"I can't tell Itachi my true intentions until that day comes.
This will be hard on him, but he's strong."
"This will also be hard on you, Ryuu."
Ryuu frowned.
"It is."
"Take off your mask." Ryuu took off his mask.
"I wish things didn't get this way. My clan has always caused problems, that's why I'm doing this.
It's all part of my plan."
Sigh...
Ryuu sighs and puts his mask on.
"I should get going. I have a lot to do, you know?
See you tomorrow."
Ryuu flickers out of the window.
'This mission is taking a toll on him. Maybe after all this is done he'll be okay.' Sakumo thought as he looked out of the window.
