Chapter 110: Ryuu Vs Third Raikage!
In Kumogakure, the Raikage was signing off some paper.
Thunder could be heard in the background and lightning was lighting the sky, it was raining heavily, almost deafening.
Knock knock knock.
"Come in!" The Raikage yelled.
"Father, I'm going home now, I'm exhausted from our mission, be sure to also get some sleep."
The Raikage nodded.
'Father has been acting strangely for a while now, he barely sleeps and he barely comes home, I wonder what's wrong.'
Ay wondered as he headed home.
A flash of lightning lit up the Raikage's office.
Ryuu appeared behind the Raikage.
He grabbed him and threw him into Kamui.
"You're alive?!" Ryuu didn't answer.
"Why did you do it? Why did you hurt her? You could've simply starved her, or maybe you could've kicked her out of Kumo, but you…"
Ryuu clenched his fist.
"You tortured her." He muttered under his breath.
"You tortured my friend!" The Raikage stood up.
"Stay down." Ryuu teleported near him and kicked the back of his leg, forcing him to kneel.
"I don't know what you're talking about!" The Raikage responded furiously.
Ryuu observed the Raikage's chakra and saw no disturbances.
"You liar!"
He charged his fist with chakra and punched the Raikage, forming a shock wave of air.
"Mind transmission jutsu!" Ryuu searched the Raikage's mind.
A week before Ichika's capture, the Raikage was working late as usual, and a shadowy figure got him from behind, putting him in a genjutsu.
"Black Zetsu…
That means... this was all Madara's doing." Ryuu whispered.
He searched the Raikage's mind again, this time he went and watched as the Raikage tortured Ichika.
"Ichika has wood release?
I should've known."
Ryuu clenched his fist.
"Madara!!!!" He yelled, furiously before leaving the Raikage's mind.
Ryuu was hyperventilating.
"So breathless…"
He turned his back on the Raikage and squatted, using his sword to hold him up as he tried catching his breath.
The Raikage looked at Ryuu as he recovered his chakra.
Ryuu had exited Phoenix Flame mode, his Sharingan was off and the Raikage saw him shaking.
"What is the meaning of this? Why did you attack me? Is this a declaration of war against Kumo?" The Raikage asked as he stood up.
"War…Against Kumo?" Ryuu sounded shaken, he was unsettled and had caught his breath.
"There will never be another war… Not while I'm here…" He stood up.
"Not while I'm alive, not even when I'm dead, I won't allow it." Ryuu took his sword and charged it with wind release.
The Raikage took this chance and swung his fist towards Ryuu, using lightning chakra mode to enhance impact.
"Ahh!" Golden flames burned the Raikage's hand off, turning it into nothing but ash.
His skin sizzled and Ryuu controlled his flames not to burn the rest of his body.
Whoosh!
The Raikage jumped back, using his full strength to launch back.
Ryuu smirked and then teleported behind him, grabbing his neck and launching him into the air.
A black skeletal arm formed with a massive ball of chakra.
"Wood clone jutsu!" Ryuu made multiple clones.
They all teleported behind the Raikage.
They entered black lightning chakra mode and kicked him back down as they also formed a Rasengan.
"Susanoo Rasengan barrage!"
Boom!
Ryuu's Susanoo hit the Raikage while his clones also hit him from behind.
A massive explosion sent Ryuu and the Raikage flying back, shattering the ground beneath them.
The Raikage's lightning chakra mode had faded, and he started bleeding everywhere, he coughed out blood and his eyes were shutting.
"Ah!" He felt someone pull his legs, launching him into the air.
"Chidori!" Ryuu stabbed the Raikage's back.
"Aargh!" He shouted as the lightning vibrated his bones, and his eyes bulged out because of the pain.
As the Raikage fell, his lightning chakra mode faded.
Ryuu threw kunai on each side and he constantly teleported each side, kicking and punching the Raikage.
His knuckles bled, and sounds of bones cracking and flesh tearing were echoing in the dimension.
Finally, Ryuu stopped punching him, he grabbed the Raikage and entered lightning chakra mode again; he grabbed him and jumped up.
"Liger bomb!"
Boom!
The Raikage's back shattered, his eyes bulged out even further and Ryuu's eyes narrowed as he stood up and pounded through Raikage with fists full of fury, he had turned sage mode off, wishing to make this last as long as he could.
Each blow from Ryuu's punches sent shock waves on the ground, Ryuu left the Raikage unrecognizable, blood and flesh splattered everywhere, Ryuu's face was covered in blood and flesh but he kept on punching as tears fell from his eyes.
"Good… Good.
Let it all out…" The deep voice spoke to him.
Ryuu didn't hear a word, a high-pitched noise in his ear blocked every sound.
Suddenly, Ryuu's fist was held back.
He looked at who stopped him and his eyes widened.
"Look at what you've done, Kumogakure will not forgive you for this, will they?"
Ryuu clenched his fist again, he used Phoenix Flame to heal his hands and restore chakra.
"Do you know what Madara did?"
Obito nodded.
"So you also know I'm not the one who has to apologize."
Ryuu sounded calmer.
"Indeed, but they don't know that, do they?"
Ryuu looked at the Raikage's body.
He pounded his face in.
A pile of flesh and bones mixed in lay there while his spine had come out.
Ryuu set the body on fire and then wiped off the blood on his face.
"You're not going to tell anyone."
Obito tilted his head.
"And why is that?"
"Because if you do, I'll have to tell everyone about Madara Uchiha, the Gedo statue, and all of it.
I'm sure Madara wouldn't be pleased to hear how his favorite pet failed him."
Obito didn't respond.
"You also won't make any attempt against Konoha, I will find a way to safely remove the seal placed on us and then I'll save you, do you understand?"
Obito frowned and clenched his fist.
"Do you understand?!"
Ryuu flexed his chakra.
"I…Understand."
"If I've raised any suspicions in Kumo, use Genjutsu to wipe their memories."
Ryuu teleported to one of Madara's secret bases and took a new cloak.
Then he teleported to Konoha's gate and walked through the gate.
"It's good to be back," Ryuu said.
A few steps into the village, everyone was staring at him like a ghost, they whispered as he walked.
"Impossible." They said.
"You there, say your names and what you want here?!"
Ryuu ignored him as he stared at the village in awe.
'Finally… I'm back home.' Ryuu took a deep breath and exhaled, closing his eyes.
"I said, say your names." Five officers surrounded him, pointing their Kunai's to his throat.
"I apologize, I didn't hear you the first time, my name is-"
"That's impossible…" Sakumo, who was walking by, froze in place.
"Sakumo-sama, you know him?"
He nodded.
"That's my son." Sakumo had tears in his eyes.
Ryuu ran to him and hugged him.
"You're alive?" Ryuu nodded.
Word of Ryuu's return quickly spread throughout the village, and people crowded him.
Minato appeared.
"Ryuu…"
"Big brother!" Ryuu hugged Minato.
"You're alive!"
It also surprised Tsunade to see him.
"Tsunade-chan…" A hard punch sent Ryuu to the ground.
"Can't you stay alive for at least 3 years, you fool?!"
Ryuu rubbed his head with a cheeky smile.
"Would you forgive me if I said it was all for your attention?"
Tsunade prepared to punch him again.
"Sensei!" Shisui ran to Ryuu, he hugged him.
"Geez, you guys trying to kill me again?" Ryuu shyly smiled.
"Ryuu?" Seeing Ichika, Ryuu froze in place with his eyes wide.
"Ichika…" She wore bandages around her body and head.
Ryuu smiled as she hugged him.
"Oh, so now he doesn't complain about it."
Shisui said.
They laughed at Ryuu, who ignored them.
"Ichika, I'm sorry I wasn't there."
"Ryuu, let's just forget about that for now. I'm just glad you're here."
He felt her tears roll down his back.
"Me too."
Whoosh!
Three Anbu members arrived.
"Ryuu Uchiha, Hokage-sama summons you."
Ryuu and the others glanced at each other, and he shrugged before teleporting to his office.
"How's it going, Sarutobi-sensei?"
Ryuu asked.
"Good to see you again, you've grown taller." Ryuu nodded.
"And you've gotten older, sensei." Ryuu jokingly said.
They talked and caught up with each other, and then the Hokage got serious once again.
"I didn't call you here only to catch up, so I'll get to it." Ryuu nodded.
"Iwagakure has agreed to sign an armistice, which means…"
"The third shinobi war is over."
Hiruzen nodded.
"I didn't just call you here to tell you that, I called you so that you'd hear this first from me.
I'm stepping down as the third Hokage after the war and I'm looking to select a new Hokage. You can help me select my successor."
Ryuu's eyes widened.
"Sensei…"
"Since I became Hokage Konoha has been in constant conflict, we've survived two wars but we've lost so many citizens."
Ryuu frowned and nodded.
"Have you thought about who you want to select as the next Hokage?"
He nodded.
"I've had three candidates, the first being Orochimaru, but he has too much darkness and passion for knowing the unknown, then there's the likely candidate.
Minato, with his help Konoha drove Iwagakure back to its land and stopped the war, and last but certainly not least, you."
Ryuu's eyes widened.
"Me?!" He nodded.
"I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say you've done a lot for the village, from the time you allied with Kumogakure, however short that lasted.
And you also single-handedly destroyed the Kannabi bridge to stop Iwagakure and secure victory for Konoha.
I know I can't force you to do anything, but I can suggest that you should at least think about it, I truly believe you will be a great Hokage."
Ryuu nodded.
"Well, I have to go now, I'm exhausted." The Hokage nodded.
"That reminds me, where have you been all this time?"
"Sorry, sensei, I'll tell you all of this some other time, it's a long story." Ryuu teleported away.
"Before I go, I think you should at least consider selecting Fugaku Uchiha as the next Hokage," Ryuu said from outside the window.
He vanished.
"Fugaku Uchiha?" The Hokage took a pipe and began smoking before thinking about his options.
