Chapter 31: Panick! I'm on fire!
Ryuu and the rest went to find Jiraiya, and it didn't surprise anyone where he'd be…
"Wow, all those boobs, massive, almost as perfect as Tsunade's. At least now that she's gone, I can do my research without trouble, but I miss her."
Jiraiya said as he spied on the girls from a window.
"Hey what's up, Jiraiya-sensei?" Jiraiya jumped back, panicking. Maybe he thought Kushina or Tsunade were coming for him, poor guy all those years getting beaten by women and yet he still didn't learn.
"Ryuu? What are you doing here? Can't you see I'm doing my research?" Jiraiya said, trying to divert the conversation.
"Oh, don't worry, sensei, I won't tell a soul. I'll just say I found you relaxing in the bathhouse. Sarutobi-sensei must've put you through hell."
Jiraiya was confused. Ryuu never shows such kindness unless he needs something from him.
"Alright, spill it." Jiraiya said.
"Spill what?"
"Don't act smart with me. I am your sensei. I know quite a lot about you and you never show kindness unless you want something from me, so what is it this time?"
He asked.
"That's not true, I just came here to see what this research you keep talking about is." Ryuu said shyly trying to play innocent.
"Hahahaha" Jiraiya laughed so hard he had tears in his eyes.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're just being a perv Ryuu." He said
Ryuu rolled his eyes and said.
"Look who's talking." As he folded his arms.
"At least, I won't hide my true nature to see beautiful women, unlike you, hiding under all that innocence!" Jiraiya said.
"Whatever." He coldly replied as he rolled his eyes.
"Anyway, I came here to tell you we're all going for dinner at a restaurant later, so be ready."
Jiraiya nodded and Ryuu left him there doing his "Research". However, he warned him that someone was coming.
Ryuu left and went to look for Kakashi. He guessed he would find him in the market still carrying Kushina's bags, and that's exactly where he was.
"Big sis kushina, I need Kakashi with me for an important test that I must do with him. Could I please take him away?"
Ryuu shyly asked, playing the innocent card again. He knew she was a tough opponent, so he added, "The eyes"
Kushina ignored him and didn't even look at him she was too busy picking her stuff.
When she turned back, she notices the way he was looking at her and contemplated for a while and then finally she said.
"Fine, but on one condition." She whispered the condition into Ryuu's ear.
Kakashi just watched. He couldn't hear a thing. All he saw was Ryuu nodding to her whispers.
He asked Minato, who was nearby.
"So, what do you think they're talking about?"
Minato shrugged and said.
"I don't know, but by the way Ryuu is nodding and the fact that Kushina had to whisper this can't be good."
They both nodded in agreement.
After a minute, the deal was done, and Ryuu took Kakashi.
"I don't know how you did it, but you freed me from that torture, anyway where are we going exactly?" He asked curiously.
"Well, remember that thing I told you I would need your help for yesterday?" Kakashi nodded.
"It's time to do it and fir this we need to go back home."
Kakashi nodded, and they headed back home…
Once they reached Ryuu checked if Sakumo was home…
"Great, he isn't even close. Let's go."
They entered, Ryuu went to the kitchen first. Kakashi was still confused and asked.
"Ryuu, please don't tell me you needed my help in cooking."
Ryuu shook his head and grabbed a bunch of ice cubes.
"Oww. That hurt." He said as he dropped the ice cubes.
"Of course it hurt. Those were a bunch of ice. cubes everyone knows I'd you hold them for. Too long it will start hurting, then numbing your hands. Now, will you tell me what we're doing here?" Kakashi asked.
"Sorry Kakashi but for this next test is where I'll need your help." Ryuu said.
"Quick question. Do you know any water style jutsu?" Ryuu asked.
Kakashi shook his head.
"For now, I only know some lightning style jutsus, Fireball jutsu as well as shadow clone jutsu and mud wall jutsu. "
He said.
"I see…"
Ryuu said as he placed his finger on his chin. He started thinking about how he was going to fix that problem.
"I guess we'll have to do this the old-fashioned way, without jutsu."
He said as he poured some water in a bucket, then suddenly he remembered something.
"Wait a minute, I have an idea!"
Ryuu said as he dropped the bucket of water he already filled it with water.
"Kakashi, follow me."
Ryuu said after he placed a seal on the bucket, "Wait a minute, where are we going?" Kakashi asked.
Ryuu didn't answer him and took off. Kakashi expected him to do that, so he followed him.
They reached their destination, and it was pretty far from their home. It was the place Ryuu Fought that Mysterious man pretending to be Krueger Nakamura, a teacher in konoha's academy.
"Once they reached their Kakashi asked.
"Hey Ryuu, isn't this the place you and Krueger-sensei or whatever his real name was fought?"
Ryuu nodded and said.
"Yup, but it's also where I meditate. I couldn't abandon it."
Kakashi nodded and said.
"So what am I doing her- "He got interrupted cause Ryuu placed a seal on his back and just teleported, leaving a yellow flash of light before he could even react.
Ryuu arrived near the bucket, then he went to place another seal on his bed.
"He picked the bucket up and teleported behind Kakashi.
"Aah!" Kakashi let out a small scream. He didn't expect that.
"Sorry I ruined the surprise Kakashi, I was supposed to show you this jutsu after having dinner with big bro Minato and the rest." Ryuu said as he smiled at him.
"Wait, you mastered the jutsu already? But you just started learning it, didn't you?"
Ryuu nodded and said.
"Yes, I did, but we have not timed to spare. I'll answer all your questions later." Kakashi nodded.
"But I have to ask, what exactly do you need me here for?"
Ryuu started removing his shirt and said.
"Yesterday, when I read the book, it told me these tests will determine my next power, and it also said that only I can do this. I need you to light me on fire."
Kakashi's eyes widened.
"Ryuu, are you insane!? What if you get seriously burned and hurt because of me? I could never forgive myself."
Ryuu placed his hand on his shoulder and said.
"Kakashi, you're the only one I trust with such things, plus we have this water. The moment I ask you this, I need you to put the flames out."
Sigh, Kakashi sighed and agreed.
"How could I refuse? You look too determined and I know there's no stopping you once you're this determined, so why would I try? Just do me a favour and be safe, will ya?"
Ryuu nodded and took his shirt.
"Now, I need you to shoot a small Fireball on this shirt. Once it catches fire, I'll try holding it." He said as he threw the shirt on the floor.
Kakashi nodded and did as he was told.
"Fire style Fireball jutsu!" He shot a small fireball from his mouth and it hit the shirt. The shirt easily caught fire.
"Alright, now is my chance." Ryuu said as he looked at his shirt catch fire,
He cautiously went to pick it up. Kakashi stood back. The heat was too. Much. It's impressive enough that he's not burning up already.
Ryuu was near the flames when he felt like he was being compelled to pick it up and burn. Not a single drop of sweat was seen on his face. He didn't even feel the heat.
He picked it up; the fire climbed on his hand slowly
"Wait, I'm on fire? I'm on Fire! Kakashi help!" Ryuu finally realised the fire was on him and screamed at Kakashi as his skin was burning half of his body caught fire already.
"How is that even possible?"
Kakashi asked as he picked up the bucket of water. He ran to help Ryuu put out the flames.
"Wait, Kakashi!" Ryuu said, as almost his whole body was on fire. It had already reached his face.
"What?" Kakashi asked.
"I can't actually feel it. I'm not burning." Ryuu said while looking at himself.
"What do you mean you can't feel it?" Kakashi was confused.
"Kakashi, it doesn't hurt me at all, it felt like the fire was calling to me and when I touched the flames they latched onto me and all I felt was my skin sizzling and the shocking part of all of this is that I knew about it when I was just a Child the real question is how much did I know?"
Ryuu and Kakashi were still shocked, adding the fact that Ryuu said that he knew about all of this when he was just a child added to his shock and confused Kakashi more.
"I've been living off suspicions and knowledge that I didn't even know where it all came from, but something tells me it's all connected to my memories."
Ryuu had a determine look as he said.
"Kakashi, I think it's time I look for my memories."
Ryuu looked at Kakashi, and to his surprise, he had a perplexed look on his face.
"Huh, what is it Kakashi?" He asked.
"Ryuu, you're still on fire."
Ryuu suddenly realised and started panicking.
"You're right. How am I supposed to get it off!?" Ryuu was biting his nails and pacing.
"Calm down Ryuu, you can be such a loser sometimes. We still have that water."
Ryuu's massive ego was damaged, and he just looked at the floor, waiting for Kakashi to get the water.
"You ready?" Kakashi said then *SPLASH!
a huge amount of steam came out and blinded Kakashi and Ryuu.
"You know you should've at least waited for me to say yes." Ryuu said as he walked out of the steam.
"Wait Ryuu, it's not gone."
Huh?
Ryuu looked at himself
"Kakashi, it's not gone!" Ryuu panicked again.
"Now, what are we going to do?"
They both said.
