Chapter 34: New power, New problems.
"Kakashi! I have a new chapter!" Ryuu said while jumping up in excitement.
"Ryuu, calm down. You're attracting attention with that fire and honestly, it's quite embarrassing seeing you act like Obito."
Kakashi nonchalantly said.
Ryuu immediately stopped jumping.
"Sorry, I got a little excited." He said while scratching the back of his head.
"Anyway, let's see what I'm going to learn this time." Ryuu said as he went to read the book.
"Alright I'm going to go back to training, tell me what you learn." Kakashi said.
I nodded and went to read the new chapter.
"Congratulations on not burning yourself. Now you can learn to control your power.
The name of your ability is called Phoenix Flame in short it's basically an upgraded version of Amaterasu it burns hotter, faster and longer and it has more abilities than the legendary amaterasu it has many levels, like the mangekyou sharingan the more you use this the more powerful it gets and eventually you'll master it.
For now, you only have the three base abilities which are…
1. Immunity for all fire based attacks unless they're a higher level of Phoenix flame
2nd. Once you master this form you can make a giant the same size a tailed beast or bigger without an external source of fire and just like a tailed beast coat you can also stretch the flames far out and make limbs out of the flames this power is limited to only 5 minutes without taking risks but with time and training your control can grow much further than that.
Last but not least, this fire doesn't run on chakra once you light the flame it's more like your own will it's a different source of energy entirely, it will only follow the users will if you want it to attack it will follow your commands and will defend you even when you're not aware of danger.
Those are your new powers for now and remember, the more you use this, the stronger they get, but you can only awaken the true potential of Phoenix Flame after you get the mangekyou sharingan.
Now, I'm sure you've realised that you know a lot of things that have happened and some that are going to happen."
Ryuu's eyes widened as he kept reading the page.
"Mother didn't just seal your memories.
What she didn't know was that she also sealed away my consciousness as well, but somehow a small part of my consciousness remained in you that's why you know what you know but there's a new problem that I've realised, you're losing my memories the further you age without the mangekyou sharingan."
Ryuus' eyes widened.
"Impossible"
Ryuu whispered to himself.
I couldn't believe what I've read. I mean, the power is cool. Despite that, could it be true, I have someone else's consciousness in my head?
As Ryuu was thinking about it, Kakashi was taking a break. He was exhausted from all that training.
"So, did you find a new ability?" Kakashi asked.
"Well, I found many things, but it's a long story I'll tell you later because the sun is coming back up and Dad will wake up soon."
I said as I took the book and everything else.
"Alright! Let's go back home."
They both teleported back home only to find Sakumo and Fugaku blacked out on the couch.
"Looks like they had a great time."
Kakashi said.
Ryuu nodded and went to put his things in his room.
After a long night like that, I just want to sleep but I can't. after what I've just found out, how could I?
Ryuu stood up, he was restless after everything he'd read he couldn't find any sleep.
He went to the living room to check if Sakumo and Fugaku were awake.
"Is anyone awake?" No one responded.
"Ryuu, why are you still awake?"
Kakashi said from his room.
I entered his room and found him laying on his bed just looking up.
"And why aren't you asleep?" I asked
"It sounds crazy, but I'm just too tired to sleep.
You said you would join in on my training, but all you did was read your book
But anyway, it's basically morning, so there's no point in sleeping ill just wait until everyone's awake then ill have a food pill. I'm sure that'll help."
I nodded. We just sat there, then I hit me.
"I just realised I haven't even told you what I've learned in the book!"
Kakashi sat up. Ryuu told him almost everything he left out the part of someone else being a part of his consciousness it was still a bit confusing to him.
"Why do you always have a cool new ability? Why can't it be me? Sigh." He said as he put his head back on his pillow.
"But that's what makes you special Kakashi, the fact that you don't have amazing abilities like mine, but you're still amazing."
I said as I tried to comfort him.
It's kind of hard to see it from this angle because of his mask, but I know he's smiling.
"By the way, Kakashi, I have a serious favour I have to ask from you. It might be the most serious one yet. Can you do it for me?"
Ryuu had an unusually serious tone.
Kakashi's eyes widened as he wondered.
What could make Ryuu this serious and worried?
Kakashi asked himself.
"Sure, just tell me what you need from me."
Ryuu nodded.
"Kakashi, it's more of a question, a very serious question. Are you sure you can handle it?"
"Gulp." Kakashi nervously nodded.
"Spit it out Ryuu!"
Ryuu hesitantly asked,
Here goes.
"Kakashi, could you please take off your mask?"
There was an awkward silence in the room and judging by his face, Kakashi was speechless and disappointed.
"Ryuu, you idiot."
He said as he threw a nearby pillow at my face.
"Hey why'd you do that? I just wanted to see your face after all this time and I only get to see the top half of your face that's not right! Show me or I'll take it off myself!"
Kakashi took off his mask…
"There, are you happy?"
Suddenly Ryuu stopped doing what he was and just stared at Kakashi in awe.
Kakashi put his mask back on.
"There, all you had to do was ask."
He said as he smiled.
"Why do you wear a mask anyway, Kakashi?"
"My mother gave me this mask when I was young. She died after giving birth to me. Sadly, I will never know what she was like. I only heard stories about her."
"Oh, sorry for bringing it up."
Ryuu shamefully said as he bowed his head for forgiveness.
"Oh, don't worry, it was a long time ago, and it doesn't bother me at all, especially if it's just you." Kakashi said.
Ryuu had a small smile.
"Usually when people ask me why I wear it, I say it's because my dad is the white fang and he has a lot of enemies, so I wear this to hide my identity or I just say nothing. But since it's you there's no problem because I think of you as my brother."
Ryuu looked up with a smile.
"I think of you as my brother, too."
He smiled back.
"Besides, it was you or Obito hahaha." Ryuu joked. They both laughed.
After an hour of talking with Kakashi,
Uncle Fugaku and dad were awake.
We went to the living room to greet them…
"Uncle!" Ryuu said.
"Dad!" Kakashi said.
They hugged.
I hadn't seen Uncle since my first and last day at the academy, I wonder how him and Mikoto are doing.
"Ryuu, the last time we saw each other you were entering the academy and on the same day you graduated with multiple records. Sometimes you should leave the spotlight for the other kids." Fugaku said.
Ryuu just chuckled as his hair was being ruffled.
"Oh dear uncle, you know I'll never leave the spotlight from anyone, right?" Ryuu jokingly said.
"Haha haha" Fugaku just laughed and patted his back.
Kakashi was speechless. He didn't think Fugaku was capable of laughing. He didn't even think he could smile.
But Ryuu knew him well. He always looks so uptight if you don't know him.
"Oh Ryuu, the Hokage wants you in his office. I'll leave with you after we get ready. He called me in as well."
Sakumo said as he was preparing himself.
"Is it finally happening? Are we finally going on the same mission together!?"
Ryuu had always wanted to go on a mission together with Sakumo.
"Don't get your hopes up, but it will be great if that's it." He replied.
Ryuu was still excited that there's a chance.
"Well then, I wouldn't want to be the reason you're late, so I'll get going now. Ryuu, it was a pleasure seeing you, you too Kakashi."
They said goodbye to each other, then he left.
"Ryuu, you're so lucky there's a chance you'll go on a mission together with dad, meanwhile I'll just be playing around." Kakashi said.
"It's not yet confirmed. Plus, you'll get your chance to go on missions as well. Once you graduate, you and I will go on a mission together. That's what I'm looking forward to."
I tried cheering him up.
Kakashi had a small smile on his face, but I could tell he wasn't happy.
"Let's go Ryuu!"
Sakumo said.
He finished and was waiting for me at the door.
I didn't waste anytime and hurried there. Just when I was closing the door, I saw Kakashi pouting…
"Hey Kakashi, come escort us to the Hokage's office."
He lifted his head up.
"Do you think that's a good idea?"
He asked.
I gestured for him to come along.
"Let's go and on the way back, we can grab you some food pills as I buy some equipment."
Kakashi didn't waste any time and ran towards us.
We left the house and went to the Hokage's office
