Chapter 41: New Leader selected
Ryuu was at Choza's location
"Multi Shadow clone jutsu!" Ryuu made multiple clones.
"This way, the fight won't be against me."
He said as he entered the building.
Choza had been fighting for a long time, he was running on fumes. Plus, he can't teleport to him blindly. He may get caught in a trap.
"Choza are you ok?"
He was panting and sweating.
"I'll be fine for now, let's take care of these guys." I nodded.
There were only 3 shinobi left, Choza had already taken care of the others.
"Fire style Dragon flame Jutsu!" Ryuu took them all out by sending 3 separate dragons to each of them.
"Let's go!" Ryuu said as he teleported Choza back to the hotel, Choza didn't even have time to react.
"Ryuu, you're back already?" Shikaku asked.
I nodded.
"Your mastery of my Gand uncle's Jutsu is impressive." Tsunade said.
"I'm more impressed you've somehow befriended all the Sannins." Shikaku said.
I smiled and scratched my head.
"Now that everyone is here, I can tell you what I've found." Everyone looked at Ryuu.
"When we reached here, I sensed two great chakras. As you know, one of them is Tsunade, the other is none other than Fuguki Suikazan.
If you're wondering who that is, he's one of the seven ninja swordsmen of the mist, he wields the most monstrous sword, it's called Samehada or sharkskin it has many abilities which I will tell you later but the most important thing is he attacked Inoichi.
Luckily Inoichi escaped and came back to us, I teleported him back to the village so that they heal him, his injuries weren't in vain neither were they severe but, he ended up giving up their location, but I expect them to know this so there should be a fight coming."
Ryuu finished giving a debrief, and the room fell silent.
"I see that's why you came to look for us," Shikaku said. I nodded.
"You know, based on the way you gave that debrief, I could consider you a chunin already, why don't you take part in the chunin exams?" Choza asked.
Shikaku nodded in agreement.
"Why don't we put that to a test?" He asked.
"Right now?" I asked.
He nodded and said.
"Well, you're the one who gave us our most important piece of information in fact you've given us key information from the start, and there's no doubt your intelligence is far beyond your rank and you have an ability to keep calm during tough situations.
Look, there're many things, but are you ready?"
Ryuu held his chin and started thinking.
This will be a tough challenge but maybe I'm ready, but this is a B-rank mission it really isn't time to be changing leaders as a test.
"Sigh" Ryuu decided.
"Alright, I'll take this challenge."
They all nodded.
"Alright, first thing first tell me everything you've learned about Kurai Matsummo and what kind of people he has protecting him and if he has a special Jutsu."
They all nodded.
"I didn't find out much about him, only that he has an incredible amount of good luck in terms of gambling," Shikaku said.
"Well, the only thing I found out is that he mostly hires rogue ninja or missing-nin who've abandoned their village," Choza said.
"Well, this isn't good," Ryuu said.
"He also always has his friend close to him." Ryuu turned back and saw Tsunade.
"His friend?" She nodded.
"A blind man who goes by the name Tenji, he follows him everywhere, unfortunately, there isn't much known about him as well "
I nodded.
"Hmm, the only one who had the most information is Inoichi, but he's in no condition to speak. That means we'll have to go in blind. Sigh, unfortunately, we ran out of time to look for more info and we'll have to take a gamble. Tsunade, please don't vouch for us."
A tick appeared on her head as she punched me.
It scared Shikaku and Choza to even say anything, so they stayed away from me.
"It was just a joke, you know." I said as I scratched my head.
She has natural monstrous strength and now I see why people are afraid of her.
"Anyway, I'll go infiltrate where inoichi was caught, then I'll come back and make a plan."
They all nodded.
Shikaku gave me the location to where Inoichi was, and I followed it.
"I didn't expect it would be here."
Just outside the biggest casino, there was a building underneath, Ryuu could feel people there.
It makes sense now that I think about it, he would need a place close to the casino because if people came to look for him it would be a simple escape or an easy explanation.
"Let's see how much I can learn."
He said as he explored.
The place was like a sewer cold and the ground felt wet, somehow like mud, it was a dark long and hollow tunnel leading to the casino, or something else, Ryuu used Phoenix Flame to light his way while in there, he kept it as low as possible so that he doesn't get discovered and he used Jiraiya's Transparent escape technique and walked on the wall so his feet don't expose him.
"Someone's coming!" Ryuu put out the flames as soon as he felt people coming his way.
They were talking, so he moved closer to hear what they were saying.
"Honestly, what are we even doing here? We signed up to protect the boss and yet there's no reason to protect him, those ninjas from the hidden leaf are probably all dead by now although I've heard that there's one more and he's being hunted down but, what's the point of all this, it's not like we're getting paid a lot."
"You idiot! Don't speak about the boss that loudly! We're supposed to be a secret, remember?"
The other one said as he smacked him on the head.
He slapped his forehead.
"That's right, my bad, but anyway, what's up with that fat guy who was hired? He seems so weird."
He asked.
"Rumours are, his a deadly shinobi from kirigakure, in fact he's part of a group of deadly swordsmen."
It seems they don't know that much about him.
Ryuu opened his Sharingan and put them in a genjutsu to knock them out.
He continued following the path in the tunnel hoping he'd find something interesting, but there wasn't anything except a door that probably leads to the Casino.
Ryuu teleported back to his comrades.
Ryuu's sudden appearance spooked them, they still haven't gotten used to his teleportation.
"So what did you find?" Shikaku asked.
"Well, I didn't find that much about what their plans are, but I found out two things that could tip the scales in our favour.
First, they haven't made a move yet, which tells us they're calm and precise instead of acting recklessly. I'm guessing they have some sort of plan, but that doesn't matter.
Second, they haven't confirmed if you're dead or not, which gives us the surprise element.
Third, they know little about Fuguki, some people don't even talk about him, which leads me to believe that they don't have good coordination and if we shake them just a little, it will do a lot of damage.
And last, apparently, they aren't allowed to talk about Matsummo, strange considering how public he is. Maybe there's more to it than we realise."
The entire room was silent.
"Good job infiltrating their base and even though it's not much, it's the best we have and we'll work with it."
Shikaku said.
"Now it's time to make a plan." He said.
"I'm already ahead of you Shikaku." Shikakus' eyes widened. He obviously didn't expect that.
"They think that you're all dead and they expect me to be alone, so let's use that to our advantage. They already underestimate me by myself, but think of what will happen if they find out I'm just a kid."
"I see, your plan is to intentionally fail so that they bring you to him instead of going through their defenses." Shikaku said.
"Exactly, he rules through fear so he'll want to kill me himself, if they try killing me without being ordered to do so by him, they'll be executed and punished.
Once I get in, I'll escape using flying Raijin and get to guys. If we fight them together, we'll win. They don't trust each other and that will be their downfall."
Shikaku nodded.
We spent an hour getting ready and waiting for the darkness to kick in…
"I'm sorry Ryuu, I would've helped you but I'll just get in your way if I came." Tsunade said.
Ryuu placed his hand on her shoulder and said.
"Don't worry about it, I'll be fine, it'll take far more than this to get rid of me, plus one day I'll find a way to fix your problem."
Her eyes widened, and she said.
"Well, I'd like to see you try, if I can't do it in terms of medical ninjutsu, then what's to say you can? In fact, you don't know anything." She nonchalantly said.
Ryuu folded his fist.
"Well then, let's make a bet," I suggested.
"A bet?" I nodded.
"If I'm able to heal your past traumas in the next 2 years, then you owe me a favour and if I can't, then I owe you one."
Tsunade placed her finger on her chin and thought about it.
After some careful consideration and thinking, she decided.
"Fine, that sounds like a good deal."
They both nodded.
Ryuu, Shikaku and Choza left through the window.
"Lady Tsunade, why did you make such a bet?" Shizune asked.
"Well, he's interesting to me, I'd like to see if he can do it, plus I just love Gambling, speaking of let's go to the Casino." She said as she took Shizune's hand.
"Wait, aren't you forgetting someone?" Shizune said as she pointed at Kenji.
"Oh, that's right, let's go Kenji, we'll be back in a few minutes." Kenji rushed to Tsunade, and they all left the hotel.
