Chapter 153: Mangetsu Hōzuki
Ryuu had reached his room.
"Explore the village as you'd like, you aren't a prisoner, but be wary of some shady places, Kirigakure isn't known for being so friendly."
"Neither am I," Ryuu responded.
Ao's eyes widened.
"Anyway, there are multiple Anbu members following your every move, I'm sure you can understand why being an Anbu captain." Ryuu nodded.
"Very well then, enjoy your stay in Kirigakure." Ao left Ryuu's room.
Ryuu contacted Kakashi, who was still looking around the village.
"Kakashi, have you found anything interesting so far?"
"Yeah, it seems there's some sort of civil war in Kirigakure, there's a recently formed group that wants the Mizukage dead."
"I see…
Go to a bar, I'll meet you there."
"Sure." Ryuu disconnected the link.
Just as Ryuu opened the door, he found Mei Terumi outside his room.
"I can't believe this. Ao, how can you treat our honoured guest like a prisoner?"
"Mei-sama, he has freedom, but we can't just let the most wanted shinobi run loose in the village, it'll create violence and tension."
Mei took Ryuu's hand, and pulled him out of his room.
"Come on, I'll give you a quick warm welcome to the village."
"Mei-sama, no need to give me a welcome into the village."
"Nonsense, someone as handsome as you needs an excellent guide like me."
Ryuu nervously scratched his head as he smiled.
"Let's go."
Ryuu looked back at Ao, he had a worried expression but he looked away like there was nothing he could do.
Ryuu told Kakashi about the change of plans using Nobu's link.
They toured the village, and they ended up at a local bar, and as soon as they stepped in, everyone froze and glared at Ryuu.
"I have to ask, are you trying to get me killed?" Mei looked at Ryuu.
"No, why would you say that?"
"I can see how welcome I am here."
"Don't worry about that, you're focusing on the bad side of things, there's someone I want you to meet. That person over there."
Ryuu looked ahead and saw a man sitting alone in the bar.
He had purple eyes, shoulder-length, white-colored hair, and pointed.
He was telling stories and laughing, showing his shark-like teeth.
And he was wearing an outfit that comprised a black, sleeveless shirt, light-purple-colored pants, and striped leg-warmers.
Ryuu noticed he carried a water bottle attached to a belt around his waist and wore bandages around his neck and the standard Kirigakure forehead protector.
"And here I was, thinking that life in Kirigakure was getting boring." He said as he turned around with a grin.
"Mangetsu, this is…"
"Ryuu Uchiha, I've heard a lot about you."
Mangetsu said as he offered his hand.
Ryuu took the handshake with a smile.
"You must be Mangetsu Hōzuki." Mangetsu tilted his head.
"I never knew my name reached that far in this world."
"Well, you aren't known to many, you're only known to those who appreciate kenjutsu."
"Come on, let me buy you a drink."
"Sorry, but I'm not old enough to drink yet."
Ryuu replied.
"Speaking of your age, I'm curious how old you are," Mei added.
"Old enough for somethings." He replied, making Mei blush.
"This guy, man, he's also a lady-killer," Mangetsu said as he put his arm around Ryuu's shoulders.
"Well, what are you doing in a place like this? You aren't here to kill us all with your magic flames or something, are you?"
Ryuu scratched his head nervously.
'Magic flames?' Ryuu asked himself, wondering if he meant Nobu.
"I'm afraid I won't be killing anyone today. Mei, I'm not very welcome here, am I?" Ryuu asked as he looked around at all the people glaring at him.
"Don't worry about it, just follow me."
Ryuu stood up and followed Mei.
"Well, if it isn't Mei Terumi, the Mizukage's pet." A scruffy, deep voice spoke out behind them.
Ryuu looked behind him, he didn't recognize him, a nearly bald brute like a man stood over Ryuu, making a shadow from behind, he had 10 people standing beside him.
"Friends of yours, I suppose?" Ryuu asked.
"Unless you want to get caught up in some Kirigakure problems, I suggest you follow me," Mangetsu said as he finished his drink.
Ryuu looked at Mei, who gestured for him to leave.
Ryuu put on a hood and followed Mangetsu.
"Mangetsu, where are we going?"
"The Hōzuki compounds are nearby." Ryuu nodded.
"Be warned, my brother can be a real pain in the ass." Mangetsu led Ryuu to the Hōzuki clan compounds.
Being from the same clan as the 1st Mizukage, Mangetsu was part of a royal clan in Kirigakure.
'We reached the compounds, it was a compound much similar to the Uchiha compounds, the difference being the number of lakes and ponds.
It made sense since some people from the Hōzuki clan had inherited a kekkei Genkai where they could liquefy their bodies for a short period, it also made sense why the compounds weren't in a hot area.'
Mangetsu opened the door to his house.
"I'm home!"
"Big brother!" A boy came running with his hands spread out, he had shark-like teeth, similar to Mangetsu, and he wore a sleeveless purple shirt.
He hugged Mangetsu.
"Hey, this guy looks familiar, have I seen him somewhere?"
"Suigetsu, this is Ryuu Uchiha, from the hidden leaf."
Suigetsu covered his mouth like he was about to laugh.
"I'm supposed to believe that? He's shorter than I thought he'd be." Ryuu dropped his head depressingly.
"Man, my height needs to be established more, you know."
Suigetsu tapped his elder brother and whispered.
"You know, for a Ryuu Uchiha wannabe, he needs to be more confident, how am I supposed to believe that this guy killed hundreds of our best shinobi by himself?"
Mangetsu shrugged.
"Ryuu, stay here for a while before Mei comes back." Ryuu nodded.
"What should I do in the meantime?"
Mangetsu shrugged.
"You said you don't drink alcohol, then what do you do in your free time?"
"First, I said I'm not old enough to drink, secondly I'm sure you have a training ground nearby, I'll go easy," Ryuu said with a smug look.
"Now we're talking," Mangetsu said.
"Big brother, will you use it?" Mangetsu nodded.
He went to his room and came back, holding a giant sword on his shoulder.
"When we're sparring, I'll try not to use my Sharingan as much as possible, alright?"
"Use whatever you want, don't underestimate me, I'm also considered a prodigy here."
"You just don't have the Sharingan, admit it." Suigetsu said.
Ryuu shyly scratched his head and followed Mangetsu to the training ground.
"You still have time to quit." Suigetsu told Ryuu as Ryuu prepared to fight.
"Suigetsu, I'm not nearly as powerful as him, this is all a friendly spar, if it weren't, I'd already be dead by now."
Suigetsu folded his hands, he still didn't believe it was Ryuu.
"You ready?" Ryuu nodded.
They made the unison sign.
Whoosh!
Ryuu threw shurikens, but Mangetsu blocked them with his sword.
Ryuu unsealed the Amenonuhoku and got ready to fight.
"Water style: rising water cutter!" Mangetsu kicked the water and a giant sharp wave of water headed towards Ryuu.
"Fireball jutsu!" Ryuu shot out a giant fireball and then dodged to the right.
"Dynamic entry!" Ryuu launched a flying kick toward Mangetsu who blocked it with his sword, Mangetsu sent him back a few steps.
Ryuu threw a Kunai behind Mangetsu and then teleported to it.
He grabbed Mangetsu by the neck.
"Huh?"
Just as he felt Ryuu's hand, Mangetsu liquefied himself.
"Purple lightning!" Ryuu sent bolts of Purple lightning into Mangetsu which shocked him and knocked him out.
"Woah." Suigetsu's eyes widened and his jaw dropped in shock.
"Hey, Mangetsu, are you ok?" Ryuu extended his hand towards Mangetsu, he was panting and on his knees holding his sword for support.
"Yeah, I just… Need to catch my breath, that's all." Mangetsu said while panting.
"Oh man, you really are Ryuu Uchiha!" Suigetsu said with excitement.
Ryuu helped Mangetsu up.
"Suigetsu you should've-"
"Teach me some ninjutsu, come on!" Suigetsu interrupted Mangetsu as he spoke.
'Kisame Hoshigaki. What's he doing here?'
"So, you came back." Ryuu nodded.
"That's right." The two of them glared at each other.
Mangetsu and Suigetsu watched them as they glared at each other.
They were unsure if they were going to fight or not, both Ryuu and Kisame weren't showing any signs of killing intent, but it was hard to tell between them.
Ryuu had to look up when he talked to Kisame because he was shorter than him.
"And here I thought I'd have to come looking for you and get my revenge for what you did on that day," Kisame stated.
"You don't have to bother looking for me, I'm right here, aren't I?" Kisame gritted his teeth.
"Mangetsu, take Suigetsu out of here, things will get messy. I don't understand why this Brat thinks he can talk to me with that tone, but I know how to find out."
Kisame clenched his fist.
"You don't stand a chance, go back to Fuguki, and let him tell you how easily I beat him, even when I was inexperienced," Ryuu replied.
"Sigh."
'I can't ruin these negotiations, I have to remain calm.'
Ryuu held his hand out, confusing the three of them.
"I didn't come here to make enemies, nor did I come here to kill or run a muck," Ryuu stated as he waited for Kisame to shake his hand.
"Fine, but we will fight one day," Kisame stated as shook Ryuu's hand.
"What the hell was all that for?! You both made the room so intense, just to shake each other's hands?!" Suigetsu asked out of frustration.
Ryuu and Kisame glared at Suigetsu, sending shivers down his spine and making him liquefy subconsciously.
