Chapter 109: Know Pain!
The next day…
"The meeting has begun."
Ryuu and Yahiko teleported beyond the eyes of Hanzo and Danzo.
Hanzo held Konan as a hostage while Danzo stood beside him, they were both surrounded by root members and Hanzo's mercenaries.
"Your organization is simply a nuisance. Yahiko, you're their leader, so you must die.
Resist and I'll murder her instead!"
He held a knife to Konan's neck.
He threw a Kunai in front of Nagato and Yahiko.
"You, redhead, kill Yahiko with that, if you do, I'll spare you and the girl."
Nagato's eyes widened.
"Nagato don't!
Forget about me, just run away, both of you!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
Nagato was so frightened he was shaking in fear, to think that he'd have to kill his best friend, a man who he'd lived and trained with for as long as he could remember.
"Nagato… kill me."
Nagato started breathing heavily as he stepped forward and picked up the Kunai.
He looked at the Kunai and remembered the feeling he got when his parents died.
Then he remembered the words he spoke to Jiraiya about how he wanted to protect his friends no matter how much hate he could take.
"Nagato!" Yahiko shouted at him.
"No!" Konan screamed.
"Hurry up, do you want this girl to die?!"
Fwoosh! Yahiko ran and directed the blade towards his chest…
"Live, no matter what it takes, you and Konan…
You are the savior of this world…
I know you can do it."
Yahiko said as he collapsed on the floor.
"Yahiko!!" Konan cried as she called out his name.
Nagato stood there in silence as the body of his best friend lay beside him, he was shaken and stunned, still trying to understand what happened.
Tears were flowing through his and Konan's eyes.
"Kill him," Hanzo said as he looked down at him.
Fwoosh!
They threw shurikens toward Nagato.
He raised his hand and the sounds of metal clinging deafened the sound of the rain as he repelled them.
"He repelled them?!"
"How?!" Hanzo and Danzo's shinobi were stunned.
Nagato charged forward, and Hanzo dodged.
"Fwoosh!" Hanzo placed his hand on the floor, which had multiple layers of paper bombs.
Nagato jumped and grabbed Konan, he noticed the paper bombs and threw Konan away.
"Did we get him?!" Hanzo was losing his composure.
His legs were sizzling from the fire.
He had freed Konan.
"Nagato."
"Konan, hold on and stay still."
"Impressive boy, you escaped even while being hit by my fire-style jutsu."
Nagato glared at him.
"Huh, you are no ordinary brat, are you? Those eyes."
"Get him!" A root member said they jumped and surrounded Nagato and Konan.
"Summoning jutsu: Gedo statue!"
Boom!
A large muscular hand came from the ground, slapping the shinobi away.
"Rawr!" A chilling roar was left as an enormous creature emerged from the ground.
"That's my cue."
Yahiko's body started changing shape.
His hair became longer and changed color to red.
"Yahiko?" Konan was startled to see such a transformation happen.
"I'm not Yahiko," Ryuu said as he stood up.
Ryuu looked at Konan, and Phoenix Flame surrounded her.
"You can come out now," Yahiko revealed himself beside Ryuu's clone.
"Take them with you." He nodded.
He gave Yahiko his flames and took him to his dimension.
"Nagato, that's enough!"
Using Phoenix Flame, Ryuu broke the black rods coming from the Gedo statue and then teleported Nagato out of there.
"And who are you?!" Ryuu stretched.
"That's impossible! You're supposed to be dead!" Danzo recognized Ryuu.
"Danzo, you recognize this boy?"
Danzo gritted his teeth.
"That's Ryuu Uchiha of the leaf village. He's a formidable opponent and should not be taken lightly. And even more so, he should be dead, after him!"
The root members swarmed Ryuu.
Whoosh!
They threw their shurikens at him, but the shurikens melted before they reached him.
"Back already?" Ryuu asked Obito, who stood beside him.
"You ruined Madara's plans, if there's anyone who deserves to kill you, it should be me."
Ryuu nodded and quickly weaved hand signs.
"Phoenix style: Firestorm jutsu!"
Ryuu shot out a massive flame and mixed it with wind style to make a firestorm. It pulled in enemies and burned them before they reached the core.
"Wind Style: Great breakthrough!" Obito fanned the fire towards the others.
'A good combination attack without any words, we've come a long way, haven't we Obito?'
Ryuu and Obito fought the rest of the shinobi, they both used Kamui, making it impossible to hit them.
"Hanzo, dealing with Ryuu wasn't part of our deal, I'm leaving."
"Not so fast." Ryuu teleported to Danzo.
"Danzo-sama!" His shinobi tried getting him, but Obito stabbed them.
"Kotoamatsukami!"
Ryuu controlled both Danzo and Hanzo, he made them retreat and forget everything that happened tonight then he placed a special seal on Hanzo's chest.
"They're all dead." Ryuu nodded.
"What now? You try to kill me?"
He shook his head.
"Madara knew how powerful you are and how powerful you can be, he instructed me to stay out of your way.
However, he was still hoping you would join his plan."
Ryuu shook his head.
"Not even in his infinite Tsukuyomi will that ever happen!" Obito frowned.
"Obito, he sealed all your memories, Madara placed a genjutsu when he saved you, you must've slipped up after you went back to him, so he tightened his grip on you, let me help you."
Obito frowned.
"You don't know what you're talking about."
"Of course I do, come to me when you need my help." Ryuu teleported away.
"You're finally back." Yahiko welcomed him.
"So, what happened?"
"Hanzo won't be bothering you anymore."
Yahiko nodded.
"Yahiko told us your plan. Why didn't you tell me?" Konan asked.
"We needed it to be as believable as possible, Nagato needed that to unleash the power of the Rinnegan."
She nodded.
Ryuu teleported them back to their base.
"I'm guessing you're going back to Konoha." Ryuu looked down,
"No, there is something I must do before I go back." Yahiko nodded.
"It looks like you have something on your mind that's bothering you." Ryuu nodded.
"Whatever it is, just make sure you at least try to sort it out peacefully…" as Yahiko spoke, a hand grabbed him and took him into Kamui.
"No!" Ryuu entered Kamui.
"Madara said I couldn't defeat you, he said nothing about hurting you in other ways!"
"Wait! No!" Ryuu entered black lightning chakra mode and dashed.
Obito swung a blade into Yahiko's heart just before leaving the dimension.
"Yahiko! No!" Ryuu held Yahiko's body.
He blinked once and found himself in the other dimension.
"Help me save him!"
"I cannot." The deep voice responded.
"Why?! He's going to die here!"
"He will not." Ryuu tried moving, but he couldn't.
"Tell me how to save Yahiko, please!"
"Take him into the impure world, there, his body and what's left of his life will be preserved and he will not die, I cannot give you the power you're asking for.
The power to bring back the dead as you did for your father does not exist anymore because you've modified your blood, now all you can do is heal wounds that aren't that deep."
Ryuu left the dimension.
"Yahiko, listen to me, I'll save you, you hear me?" Yahiko weakly nodded before being taken into Ryuu's dimension.
Ryuu covered Yahiko's body in ash, he shaped it like a cube and shoved it beneath.
He teleported to Nagato and Konan, who were relieved to see him but looked for Yahiko.
"Where's Yahiko?" Konan asked.
Ryuu frowned.
"He'll be back, I promise."
Konan fell to tears, and Nagato was in shock.
"I promise, I'll bring him back, just give me time to get the power to do so."
Nagato clenched his fist.
"Leave Amegakure, don't come back until Yahiko is also brought back."
"Nagato, he's just trying to help!" Konan pleaded, but Nagato had already made his mind up.
"Him helping got Yahiko killed!"
"I have to go, but I promised I will bring him back, I don't intend on breaking that promise." Ryuu teleported into his dimension.
"I have to save Yahiko.
But first…" Ryuu closed his eyes and entered sage mode.
"First, I have to get revenge." He said in a serious tone.
Ryuu unsealed a Katana and laced it with Phoenix Flame and Ash.
His flames changed color again, they turned golden.
When Ryuu opened his eyes, his Mangekyou Sharingan was on and he had black, slitted pupils with red fire in the background.
Ryuu heard a voice in his head, echoing and repeating the same thing over and over.
"Yes…
Use your anger, kill the Raikage, he did this to your friend, hurt him too…
Use my power, Ryuu…
Use the flames of the Phoenix and live up to your name, live up to the name of the demon who lies in the land of fire…
Hahaha…"
That deep voice spoke to him again and again, echoing in his head and manipulating his emotions.
Ryuu opened a portal.
"Nothing will change if I don't do this, no one can stop me and no one will stop me, I will avenge Ichika."
