Chapter 52: Kakashi becomes a Genin!

"Kakashi! Wake up!" Ryuu shouted from his room.
Kakashi tried ignoring him, but after 30 minutes he couldn't take it anymore, so he went to Ryuu's room.
"Alright, alright I'm up already."
He said as he helped Ryuu up.
"Why are you shouting so much?"
Ryuu smiled and said.
"Well, today is the day you finally become a ninja after the exam you and I can go on missions together after I heal we can all go on missions, that and I was hungry, I couldn't sleep the whole night and it was too uncomfortable, what about you? You don't look like you slept at all, you okay?"
He shook his head.
"I've just been thinking a lot about what happened to Dad. Many people are saying he abandoned his mission and broke the rule and put Konoha in danger."
He said with his head low
Ryuu nodded.
"They're right, but do you think he would break such a rule if it wasn't the only option?" He shook his head.
"You're right, dad would never do such a thing without a proper reason." Ryuu smiled.
"Alright, now I hate to ask this, but umm, can you help me get to the toilet, I've been holding it for hours and I need to go."
Kakashi looked pissed, he had a tick on his head.
"Idiot! I'm not going to do such a thing, sort it out yourself!"
"Now, how am I supposed to go?"
He asked.
"Not my problem."
Ryuu's head dropped.
"At Least could you get me there, I still can't move." Kakashi slapped his forehead.
"Damn you, never say I have done nothing for you, let's go."
After having breakfast, Kakashi pushed Ryuu to Minato, Jiraiya, and Kushina, they were training in training ground three.
"Someone please take care of him, I can't stand him anymore." Minato nodded.
"Kakashi, could you push me to the hospital? I want to talk to dad."
Kakashi's eyes widened.
"Couldn't you have told me this before we went all the way here? I'm going to be late and it's going to be your fault." Ryuu shyly smiled.
"Don't worry about it, I can take him there."
Minato said.
Kakashi smiled in relief and left without hesitation. While Minato took me to the hospital, we reached the hospital, and a nurse offered to push me.
"Do you want me to stay with you, or should I wait for you out here?"
Minato asked.
"There's no need for you to stay here, I'll take care of this on my own and we can meet up later, the nurses will help me from here."
He nodded and teleported back to the training grounds.
"I should warn you, he hasn't been very talkative since he woke up, all he does is stare through a window." She said.
"Knock knock knock"
"Sakumo-sama, someone is here to see you."
We entered the room and there he was, his hands were folded as he looked outside the window, the nurse left me near him.
Ryuu tried moving his hand, but he felt the same pain he had before he was shivering out of pain, so he stopped.
"Dad." He didn't respond.
"I've heard you aren't eating or speaking, what's wrong? I can help you, you just have to tell me, you know." He still stood silent.
"I hope you aren't trying to kill yourself again, I'm already in pain from the first time I saved your life, anyway what were you trying to accomplish? You realize your death would've done more damage compared to failing a mission, right? People would've lost hope in their village regardless of how that felt about you Kakashi would lose someone he looks up to more than anyone."
He didn't move, it's like he wasn't even listening to me.
"Fine."
I tried standing up but this pain, it's unbearable, I still have to try.
He then stood up, as he tried to move his legs, he felt a spike of pain and fell, but just before he hit the ground.
"Fwoosh!"
Sakumo caught him.
"I'm sorry."
His eyes were tearing up as he put me back in my wheelchair.
"I failed the village and after that, I failed you both, how could you ever forgive me Ryuu, how could you still respect me?"
Ryuu frowned.
"No, it's not your fault, it's the village who failed you." His eyes widened.
"From the young age of 4 years, they teach people about the will of fire in the academy.
We're taught to protect each other no matter the cost even those who don't become shinobi know of the will of fire, to be honest with you I don't believe in the will of fire, however, I know how you believe it you're deeply inspired by it, so tell me, what good would it have done if you were to kill yourself, wouldn't that have made things worse?"
He looked down and frowned.
"Well, that doesn't matter now, does it?"
He looked up.
"What do you mean?"
"You've forgotten? Today Kakashi will finally become a genin after he passes the test. I bet he's probably finished with the test right now, do you want to go see him?" He smiled and nodded.
"GRRR"
Sakumo embarrassingly scratched the back of his head.
"We should go have some food, I haven't eaten in days. Then we can pick Kakashi up from the academy."
Even though Ryuu couldn't nod, he agreed.
"Oh, and by the way, thanks for healing me, you saved my life, I don't know what you did but whatever healing technique you did must've been great, I feel like I'm at least 15 years younger and even more powerful than ever."
Sakumo said.
"Honestly, even I don't know how that happened, I guess it has something to do with Phoenix Flame, I'll show you after I heal, if I go into Phoenix Flame mode right now, I'll probably die."
He nodded his head.
After Sakumo checked out of the hospital, they went to have some food, the village still treated him like a scum so we just went home.
After having some food, we went to the academy to pick Kakashi up.
"So how long do you think it'll take?"
I asked.
"I don't really know, but we should be on time, he should be finishing up now."
After 10 minutes Kakashi was done, he came outside wearing his forehead protector and holding a graduation certificate.
"Took you long enough." He looked up and ran towards us.
"You made it!" He hugged Sakumo.
"Congratulations Kakashi!" rin came to congratulate him, While Obito followed her.
"Yeah, now you're the 2nd youngest kid to graduate, Ryuu is still better than you." Obito smuggling said.
"Oh yeah, and what about you?"
Obito folded his fist ready to fight, and Kakashi just ignored him.
"both of you, Calm down now!"
Rin said.
"Thanks, Rin," Ryuu said
We invited them to have some food, Sakumo made fish while Kakashi helped him in the kitchen.
"wow this is the best fish I've ever had, you must be some kind of genius to cook so well," Obito said.
After having food, Obito and Rin said goodbye and went back home, Sakumo hadn't been here since that night.
"Kakashi, Ryuu, about what happened…"
He took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry for what I had done earlier, or what I tried to do, I was just going through a hard time and I didn't think about how I'd affect you two but you should know you're the two most important people I know and I hope you forgive me."
Kakashi and Ryuu glanced at each other and said.
"We forgive you."
Sakumo widened his eyes and stared at the two.
"Even after what I did?" They both nodded.
His eyes started watering.
"I couldn't ask for a better family."
He said while he hugged them both.
"Well, now that we're done with this, you're the one responsible for Ryuu while he's in the wheelchair, and that probably includes bathroom duties."
Kakashi said as he went back to his room.
"Wait! Can't we talk about this, Kakashi?"
Sakumo's pleading didn't help.
"Consider this a way to paying me back."
Ryuu chuckled nervously.
"That's cold, Kakashi."
