Chapter 177: It's Time For Action!
Once they got back, Ryuu placed a paralysis seal on Hasai and then went to check on Sakumo.
Sakumo was with Obito and they were walking to his office while the Anbu present held back a mob of villagers.
"What's going on here?" Ryuu asked.
"Captains!" The Anbu sounded startled to see Ryuu and Kakashi.
"The villagers want the Hokage to punish…
Well, to punish." The Anbu nervously looked at Ryuu.
"Just say it. The villagers want to punish my clan, don't they?"
"Yes, sir."
Ryuu furiously looked at the mob outside.
'Damn it, it wasn't supposed to go this way, this will end up worse than I imagined. I have to think of a better plan.'
Ryuu snapped out of his thoughts and looked beside him.
Kakashi had put his hand on his shoulder.
"Come on, let's go inside. We can figure this out if we work together."
Ryuu nodded.
"You're right, let's go."
"Captains! What do we do about these villagers?"
Fwoosh! Ryuu and Kakashi teleported inside.
Once they were in the Hokage's office, Kakashi removed his mask seeing that Obito's mask was also off.
"I've arranged for a meeting with Fugaku after you find out how and why this happened."
Looking at Ryuu, Sakumo wasn't the only one to notice the distasteful look in his eyes.
"This is all my fault, I brought him into the Anbu. I thought he'd help protect you, not being the one to attack you."
"It's not your fault," Kakashi said.
Ryuu looked over to Kakashi, he was still down about Hasai's betrayal.
"All three of us voted for Hasai to join the Anbu, we both knew about how he got his Mangekyou and we knew Danzo would take advantage of him, it's why we kept him close."
Obito nodded and said,
"Kakashi's right, but we have to focus on finding out more, we don't know if Danzo has more plans."
"Hmph…" Ryuu put his hands on the table and rested his head.
"Look at you, Obito.
Now you're the one who's telling me to focus. You're finally growing up, huh?"
"Yeah, I guess I am, now will you help?"
"Yeah, just keep dad protected and I'll handle the rest."
Ryuu entered his portal and took Hasai with him.
Ryuu appeared in an interrogation room where all the other Anbu held their interrogations.
He took Hasai to an empty room and threw him across the table.
"Why'd you do it, Hasai?
Why did you break my trust?"
Ryuu made a hand seal.
"Release!"
Hasai started moving again, he was gasping for air and on his knees.
"You're free to use your Mangekyou Sharingan, but if you try to use it on anyone else, I'll break every bone in your body, and I'll make sure you're alive to feel them all."
Ryuu picked him up by his neck and slammed him on the wall.
"Ah!
Ease up a little!"
"Ease up?"
Ryuu clenched his fist.
"I'll show you ease up."
Ryuu turned around and put Hasai in a genjutsu.
"Aaah! Make it stop! Make it stop!!"
Hasai screamed and begged for mercy, but it was all too futile.
"Nobu, let me know what he's been up to."
"Hm hm hahaha!"
When Nobu got out of Ryuu's body, he was dying of laughter at seeing Ryuu like this.
"It's been way too long since I've seen you so angry! I can't help but laugh!"
"Yeah, yeah, get it over with."
"Hmph, don't get too ahead of yourself with that tone."
Nobu entered Hasai's mind and searched his memories.
This took a few minutes, and when he was finished, he went back to Ryuu.
"I should've known.
Danzo isn't the type to make such a rash move."
Ryuu opened a portal and pulled Shisui close to him.
"Sensei, what is it?"
"Assassination attempt on the Hokage, it's a long story, but I've handled part of it already."
"I see…
Is anyone hurt?"
"Only some villagers, Ichika and Rin, are taking care of their wounds while I handle this interrogation."
Shisui looked at Hasai on the ground.
He was sweating profoundly and twitching.
"That's Hasai but…
What's he doing in here? Isn't he one of us? An Uchiha?"
"He is…
But he isn't.
Hasai turned on the village and attacked the Hokage.
I've put him in a genjutsu and I've gotten all the information I need.
Which is why I brought you here, Shisui.
Let's go to the Hokage's office and debrief."
"That's probably a good idea.
But what about him?"
Ryuu looked at Hasai and signaled the other Anbu outside.
"He's all yours Ibuki."
Ryuu took Shisui and teleported into the Hokage's office.
"Ryuu, you've got your information?" Sakumo asked.
"I have.
And it involves Sunagakure."
Ryuu went and closed the doors before turning to Sakumo and the others.
"Turns out, Sunagakure and Danzo are somehow acquitted."
"Somehow?"
"Yeah, I haven't fully figured it out just yet.
To start with, the fire Daimyo is dead, and they have planned this for approximately two months."
"Go back a few steps, the Daimyo is dead?" Obito asked.
"That's right, a man named Hisashi assassinated him.
He's a top ten in the bingo book and he has no allegiance to any village. And he likes to use poison."
"Weren't the guardian twelve with him?"
"They were, but he also specializes in impersonations."
"He killed the Daimyo and then impersonated him.
Tch!
He's annoying if you ask me.
How can someone dedicate his entire life to standing out because he wasn't part of a village just to be used by two villages?"
"Two villages?" Sakumo asked.
"That's right, Sunagakure is involved with this assassination attempt."
"What?"
Ryuu nodded.
"Listen, that isn't the problem.
Hasai was only one of few agents from root who was sent to communicate with the Kazekage and his aid."
"Who was his aid?" Kakashi asked.
"As expected, Lady Chiyo escorted the Kazekage along with Root shinobi.
Danzo switched it up the three times they met. They probably switched locations too, this one was in an alley on the border."
Ryuu glanced over to Obito.
Obito was scratching his head, trying to figure out something.
"What is it, Obito?"
"It's just that I can't figure something out.
What's Danzo aiming to achieve here? And why aren't you doing anything to stop him?"
"I'd also like to know that." Shisui turned to Ryuu.
"I'm not stopping him until later.
Back to the reason, Danzo is doing this.
To me it's simple, Danzo isn't trying to kill the Hokage. That's too difficult and even he knows that."
"So he's pulling his old tricks, huh?", Kakashi figured it out too.
"His old tricks?" Shisui asked.
"That's right, how do you think the third shinobi war began?" Ryuu asked.
"Those skirmishes were Danzo and his foundations doing," Sakumo stated.
Sakumo continued explaining what he said,
"Turns out the foundation was behind the small skirmishes around the borders which led to the third war.
Danzo must be trying to do it all over again. Why don't you just put him out of his misery?"
Ryuu nervously scratched his head and said,
"Sorry, can't do that yet. I have plans for him and if these plans get interfered, the future's at stake, you know?"
"Always so stubborn with your plans," Sakumo muttered.
"I get that this is the second time he's trying to kill you, trust me, I do.
But as long as I have him figured out, he'll do nothing to you.
Danzo knows he can't kill you, that wasn't his goal today.
He tried to get between potential allies and I admit, I should've known this earlier. Danzo knows we're looking for allies now, he doesn't just hope you fail to make another ally, he wants you to make an enemy."
"If so, then that could mean he's gone for the Kazekage directly."
"No, not true. Rasa is a strong-willed man, he'd never fall for Danzo's false promises, he knows once they fail I'll have to punish them for it.
Trust me, Danzo will die soon."
"Well? What now?"
Ryuu shrugged.
"That's for you to figure out Hokage-sama. My shift is over, and Kakashi and Obito are here."
Fwoosh! Ryuu teleported away.
Fwoosh! Ryuu came back.
"By the way, figure out how you want me to kill Hasai. I vote to burn him to the death." Ryuu said with an innocent smile.
"But of course, this is your decision, dad.
Goodnight!" Ryuu teleported into the changing rooms.
He got rid of his gear and jacket, wore his casual clothes, and carried his bag over his shoulder.
As he looked in the mirror, Ryuu pulled out the silver chain given to him by his father.
'I still haven't forgotten you.
I'll kill Danzo Shimura and avenge you…
Mum and Dad…'
Ryuu left and walked back home with his other hand in his pocket.
"Goodnight, Ryuu-sama!" A crowd of ladies waved him off.
Ryuu waved at them and silently walked away as they all giggled and fought over who he was looking at.
'Busy times are ahead of me.
I won't get distracted. I've planned for too long now. It's time for action!'
