Chapter 86: Impressing the Raikage
They reached the battlefield, the empty land of only rocks, boulders, and a mountain surrounding it, the only way to Kumogakure was through the third Raikage, Ryuu, and Rikuto.
"Before we enter the battlefield, I hope you see this as a compliment rather than an insult," Ryuu said.
"Just what are you talking about?"
Lightning chakra started building around Ryuu's body and soon he entered lightning chakra mode.
"How did you get that jutsu, I was so sure we hid the scrolls from which that ninjutsu comes!" He said.
"That's not all." Ryuu closed his eyes and focused more. The Raikage's eyes widened.
"How is that possible?" Black lightning was flowing around Ryuu's body.
'I've trained hard enough to use yin or yang individually, and after finding that out, black lightning is easily accessible as it is simply lightning chakra with a high potency of yang release.
But it isn't easy to control, yang release is wild and uncontrollable, in fact in ten minutes I'll have to stop using it because as much as I've practiced Yang release will consume me.'
"Let's get them now." They walked straight into the battlefield with the Raikage leading the way.
"That old fool, he's powerful but not enough for all of us." One of the shinobi said.
"He's not alone, look." He pointed at Ryuu and Rikuto, who walked beside him.
"That's Ryuu Uchiha of the hidden leaf! Do they have an alliance?!"
"It doesn't matter, we outnumber them, don't be a coward." He nodded and looked back.
"Wait, where did he go?!" Ryuu turned into a flock of crows.
"Genjutsu!" Ryuu appeared behind him and his comrades.
"Black lightning stream!" Black lightning came from his sword and took out a line of Iwa shinobi.
"Impossible! Attack!" They weaved hand signs, and Ryuu activated his Mangekyou Sharingan.
"Earth-style: Dragon bomb jutsu!" They shot massive dragons made of mud at Ryuu.
"Fireball jutsu!" The mud bombs combined with the fire and were heading towards Ryuu.
"Fools."
"Boom!" An enormous explosion took place and caused them to lose sight of Ryuu.
"Forgive me, but I have to show why I trained so hard to control and combine Phoenix Flame with chakra."
Ryuu said to himself.
He entered sage mode before making a hand seal.
'My Kunai has absorbed enough natural energy, I'm still not powerful enough to use these moves at their full potential but this will do just fine.'
"Do you guys think he's dead?"
"Who cares, just do it again to confirm!"
They shot another earth dragon at Ryuu.
"Phoenix-style: Majestic destroyer flame!"
Ryuu shot out a massive amount of Phoenix Flame and it burned through the dragon and killed hundreds of them with ease.
"Earth-style: multi mud wall!" They attempted to block out Ryuu's flame, but it burned through all the walls like they weren't there.
Rikuto directed the Phoenix flame to his arm and wiped out hundreds of them in a single punch.
"One finger assault!"
"Boom!" The ground shook as the Raikage and Ryuu took down a thousand shinobi at once.
Ryuu's black lightning chakra mode was more powerful cause it had a higher concentration of lightning.
"Rikuto, let me show off my power, cover me!" He nodded.
Ryuu activated his Mangekyou Sharingan with his sage mode, then he weaved some hand signs.
"Wood style: Deep forest bloom!"
The ground started rumbling.
"Boom!" The ground split apart and giant trees burst from the earth, making giant flowers and attacking the shinobi.
They were so full of natural energy that it was almost impossible to destroy.
Ryuu controlled the trees to swing around, crashing the enemy forces, they attempted to crush Ryuu's trees, but the natural energy was so viscous making all their attacks useless.
Pollen from the flowers was distributed around to the enemies, making them pass out, Ryuu controlled them away from Rikuto and the Third Raikage.
'Who is this child? He has wood release, but as far as I know, that technique is limited to the first Hokage.'
The Raikage stared at Ryuu as Ryuu defeated multiple enemies at once.
"Retreat!" The Iwa shinobi started running away.
"I don't think so." Ryuu made wood clones and used them to spread out quickly.
"Ninja art: Four crimson ray formation!"
Ryuu started panting.
'I'm running out of chakra, that damn sealing jutsu takes too much and I've used my Mangekyou too much.'
He activated Phoenix Flame.
"Ryuu, we've had enough fun, I believe it's time we finish this battle once and for all." Rikuto also activated Phoenix Flame.
"I agree, Raikage-sama, stand back, we'll deal with the rest." His eyes widened.
"Don't get ahead of yourself, from what I see, we've only killed half of them."
Ryuu nodded.
"Then take this and stay out of our way." Ryuu gave him his red flames and the flames on his body turned crimson.
They built up around him and Rikuto and soon their Phoenix Flame avatars built up.
"Phoenix Firestorm wave!" Ryuu and Rikuto flapped their wings at once, and the wind made a gigantic tornado out of white flames, they were so bright the Raikage and the other Shinobi covered their eyes.
The enemies were screaming while hearing the flames burn through Ryuu's trees and turning everything to ash, all the enemies were too shocked to move away and were burned down in less than a second.
'Such Majestic power, those wings have so much power behind them, he's like a dragon.'
The Raikage thought as he watched.
He had stopped fighting and just stood there in awe and silence, although he wouldn't admit it, he was afraid.
His body was completely shocked, and he was sweating fiercely.
Ryuu left his Phoenix Flame avatar and dropped to the ground.
"Our combined attack did it." Ryuu nodded.
He touched the floor to sense if there were more shinobi left.
"They're all dead well, my flames surround those who are still alive and well will be dead."
The Raikage nodded.
"The barrier shattered?" Ryuu nodded.
"Our flames must've destroyed it."
Ryuu stated.
"Let's go back." The Raikage nodded.
Ryuu took him with Rikuto and teleported back to his office, Bee and Ay were waiting along with many citizens of Kumogakure.
"You made it back!" Ay and Bee ran to their father.
"They say the third Raikage is as honorable as he is fierce in battle, I don't doubt that he'll accept this deal."
Ryuu said to Rikuto through the mind transmission jutsu.
"Well, let's hope you're right."
Ryuu nodded.
He exited sage mode and Phoenix Flame.
"Raikage-sama, not to intrude on this touching reunion but, may we move on to our agreement?"
He nodded.
"Wait for a second yo, before you ally with the hidden leaf, eighto and I would like to have a moment to ask how you know the eight tails, ya fool!"
Ryuu smiled.
"All the tailed beasts have names, I respect all of them and would prefer that we don't use them as weapons or tools, but it's not up to me, is it?"
Ay scoffed.
"Tailed beasts are nothing but weapons for a village to use. Their purpose is to serve the village which captured them."
Ryuu shook his head.
"With a mind like that, it's no wonder they hate us humans so much."
Ay clenched his fist ready to attack, lightning chakra built up and he entered lightning chakra mode.
'This boy gets on my nerve!'
"Ay!" The third Raikage held him by the shoulder.
"This will be a pointless attack that will lead to your defeat."
Ay looked at his father with his eyes widened, it shocked him to hear his father praise another shinobi.
"After sharing the battle with him and his friend, I can tell you that not even with my help will you be able to defeat him alone."
The entire room was shocked to hear such words from the most powerful Raikage in their history.
"But anyway, not only do I owe my life to you, but the village does too, if there's anything else you want before we sign the alliance and peace agreement, you name it."
Ryuu thought for a while, then snapped his fingers as he remembered.
"Well, this might be unacceptable, but…
I heard there used to be a group of rogue ninja from Kumo called the gold and silver brothers?" He nodded.
"That's right, they were the most dangerous criminals in our history, they caused havoc not only in this village but in others, including Konoha.
They ambushed your second Hokage and while he went to make a peace treaty with the second Raikage and before that, they ambushed the nine tails, they used legendary weapons and we only got one of them." Ryuu nodded.
"About that, that's what I want as an addition." The third Raikage's eyes widened.
"You must be insane if you think that will be accepted! What about our village? We use that to seal a tailed beast if it goes out of control!"
Ryuu nodded.
"And that's why this alliance is made, at any moment you can call me if you need me, I should be able to control the tailed beast by myself, that's if I'm needed."
Ay and the Raikage scoffed.
"You told me anything and if you want this alliance to work, then you need to trust me," Ryuu added.
"Father, you cannot accept this deal, it's ridiculous!" Ay said.
"How can we make sure that you'll help us?" Ryuu activated his Mangekyou.
"With this." He placed his hand on the Raikage's chest and gave him his seal.
"What is this?" He asked as he inspected Ryuu's seal.
"This seal can't be undone unless I want it to be, and it also acts as an extension of my sensory ability, it will inform me whenever you're in danger. I can place it on each of your chests just in case you need me.
And after the war is done, I'll place it all over Kumogakure and Konohagakure."
Killer Bee and Ay stepped forward, Ryuu smiled and gave them the seal.
"There, now with this, I can be here in an instant and there's no need to worry."
'I still don't trust thus hidden leaf bastard, these seals only make it easier for him to breach the village.' Ay said to himself.
The third Raikage could sense his killing intent and needed to do something about it.
"Ay, Bee, take Ryuu to where we keep the Amber purification jar."
Ay's fist clenched tightly, but he knew there was nothing he could do as it was his father's wish to trust Ryuu and it was his Raikage's order which mustn't be disobeyed.
Rikuto followed them but was stopped by Ay.
"One of you Konoha shinobi is enough." He frowned, but Ryuu held him back and he nodded, then waited in the Raikage's office.
'I followed Bee and Ay to an underground storage room, I could sense many powerful weapons within.'
"Bee, give me a torch." Killer bee went to get a torch.
"Just what do you need with this jar?"
Ay asked.
"That's my business, but you can trust that it won't interfere with Kumogakure."
Ryuu replied.
'After the war, this will be my next project.' Ryuu said to himself.
"Be careful with this torch cause it might just scorch ya, weeee!" Bee said as he tossed the torch to Ryuu.
Ryuu caught it and gave it to Ay.
'He opened the door to a vault, and we entered, there were many weapons, each of them looked like they were legendary and sacred.'
"There it is." He gave Ryuu the jar.
Ryuu sealed it in a large scroll.
"Let's go." Ryuu nodded.
They walked back to the Raikage's office.
"Just in time, here are the documents stating that Kumogakure and Konohagakure seek an alliance, once the lightning Daimyo and the fire Daimyo agree it will be official but until then I demand that all Konoha shinobi stay off our borders, and in return, all Kumo shinobi will stay off your borders."
Ryuu nodded.
"Thank you for this." He said as he bowed to his knees with tears in his eyes.
Everyone in the room looked at him strangely for his behavior.
The Raikage picked him up.
'These Konohagakure shinobi have always been strange, a similar thing happened with the 1st Hokage known as the god of shinobi during the first five Kage summit.'
"No need for that, you may not be a Kage, but from this day I acknowledge and respect you as an equal."
Everyone's eyes widened, and they gasped, especially Ay and Bee.
It's strange enough their father to acknowledge an opponent stronger than him but him to openly say that is something else entirely, especially because he is talking about a child.'
"When the fire Daimyo accepts it will be my honor to personally deliver it here." He nodded.
Ryuu and Rikuto teleported to Minato's camp.
