Chapter 165: Disturbing Kurama
"Shisui, what happened?" Yagami asked as he entered the room.
Shisui put Ryuu's body over his shoulder.
"I'll be back later."
Shisui flickered away with Ryuu.
Shisui arrived at Ryuu's compound.
He walked him to his door and knocked.
Nobu appeared from Ryuu's body.
"Shisui, take Ryuu to his bed, all he needs to do is sleep.
That jutsu took too much energy."
Shisui nodded.
"Big brother Shisui?" Naruto saw Ryuu and his eyes widened.
"What happened?!"
"Naruto, relax, sensei is alright, he just needs some sleep, that's all." Naruto nodded.
Shisui climbed the stairs and took Ryuu to his room.
"Naruto, Where's Ichika?"
"Big sis went on a mission, she hasn't returned yet."
"Well, alright, I better get going.
Ryuu-sensei saved my father's life.
I never thought he'd live after all this, but sensei he did it…" Shisui smiled, looking at Ryuu.
"I should get going. See you around Naruto."
Shisui left Ryuu's house.
"Big brother means so much to so many people.
To the entire village."
Naruto entered his mindscape, and Ryuu taught him how to do it at a young age so he doesn't get lonely.
Naruto found Kurama sleeping on his hands. Kurama opened an eye to prevent being annoyed by Naruto.
"What do you want? I'm trying to sleep."
"All you ever do is sleep, you've also infected big brother with your laziness, you know?"
"Shut up, you brat.
You don't know how tiresome it is to listen to your stupid voice all the time."
"Hey! My voice isn't stupid!" Naruto yelled as he pointed at him.
Kurama scoffed.
"Just say what you want and leave."
Naruto folded his hands and looked away.
"Well, now I don't want to."
'Tch! This brat is annoying.'
"Naruto, you also admire Ryuu?"
Naruto quickly turned around and smiled.
"Well, of course, I do, doesn't everybody else?
I can't think of any reason you wouldn't admire him. He's awesome!"
"Through hard work and natural talent, Ryuu has earned respect from his entire village, he's earned respect and fear from other lands as well.
Ryuu has mended the relationships between most tailed beasts and their jinchuriki.
When I first saw Ryuu, I could already tell he differed from the other humans in the way he spoke to me.
Ryuu respects all tailed beasts and cares for them, not like a weapon that needs to be placed under better conditions, but as a friend.
Naruto, Ryuu didn't just convince others they should trust and believe in tailed beasts, he also convinced tailed beasts to trust and convince the others."
"I knew big brother was so cool!" Naruto excitedly said with a bright smile on his face.
Naruto left his mindscape and looked at Ryuu.
"Kurama, I want to be just like big brother… Except… I'm going to be Hokage!
That's when I'll be acknowledged by everyone!
Believe it!"
Naruto pumped his fist in the air with a determined look.
"Huh?" The door opened.
Naruto looked at who was at the door.
"Big sis!" Naruto jumped onto Ichika, hugging her tightly.
'So soft…' Naruto said to himself as he held onto her.
"Didn't you hear me?! I'm going to sleep!" Naruto quickly let go, before she raised her hands.
"Sorry, I just missed you, you know," Naruto said with his hands behind his back, and his eyes appeared to be watering.
"Sigh."
"Liar." Ichika stubbornly hugged Naruto and gave him a peck on the cheek.
'Big brother was right! These eyes work on big sis, he he he…'
"Naruto, what's Ryuu doing home so early?"
"Big brother Shisui brought him here, he saved his dad with a jutsu that took too much chakra and energy."
Ichika nodded.
"That bastard, I'm the one who's supposed to be exhausted from my mission.
He always does this, overworking himself for others.
He better enjoy his sleep now, I'll talk with him as soon as he wakes up."
Naruto held his laugh in, imagining Ryuu's face as he's getting scolded.
Ichika slouched up the stairs.
She entered the room and fell asleep immediately.
A day passed since Ryuu fell asleep.
No one bothered him while he was asleep.
But finally, he woke up…
"Yawn!" Ryuu yawned and stretched.
He rubbed his eyes and went to shower.
"Nobu, how long have I been asleep?" Ryuu asked as he brushed his teeth.
Nobu emerged from his body.
"One day, Shisui took you back home after you saved his father's life." Ryuu nodded.
Ryuu finished brushing and wore his Anbu uniform.
He went downstairs to make breakfast.
"Naruto? Ichika?"
"How strange, they aren't here.
Nobu, do you know anything about it?"
Nobu appeared.
"Naruto is in the Uchiha compound training with Sasuke and Itachi, while Ichika is on another mission."
Ryuu nodded.
"I see…
We've barely had time for each other recently.
Sigh."
"Shit! How could I forget!" Ryuu remembered he was supposed to get Shisui, so they go on the mission.
He grabbed an apple and teleported to Shisui's house.
"Ryuu, you should eat something soon, your body is still recovering from that jutsu you used on Yagami."
"Nobu, I'm alright, I feel fine, this mission won't even be hard, I'm just supervising, you know."
"Sigh."
Nobu sighed.
"Alright then, I'll let you feel the drawbacks for yourself," Nobu said before entering Ryuu's body again.
"Drawbacks? What drawbacks?" Nobu didn't respond.
"Nobu? Nobu! C'mon Nobu, stop fooling around!"
"Sensei?" Ryuu looked to his side and saw Shisui, who had opened the door.
"Oh, Shisui, I uh… I didn't notice you there, sorry." Ryuu nervously scratched his head.
"It's time to go for the mission, Shisui."
"Let me get something to eat first.
Would you like anything, sensei?"
"No, I'm alright." Shisui nodded.
"Shisui? Who's at the door?" His father shouted from the other room.
"It's Ryuu-sensei! I have a mission!"
"Your Sensei, huh? And you haven't invited him to eat with us?"
"He says he's not hungry."
"Nonsense!" Yagami walked to the door.
"Come in, come in, dine with us, I insist." Ryuu entered.
"I see you got up on the right foot."
"Hahaha, a man with class and humor. Come in."
Yagami took Ryuu inside.
Ryuu sat down.
"You don't owe me anything, that was just me doing a favor for Shisui, he's like a younger brother to me, you know?"
"Yagami-kun, who is that?" A lady spoke from the kitchen.
"Oh, how rude of me.
I didn't introduce myself, I'm Kahori Uchiha, Shisui's mother."
Ryuu greeted her.
She had black straight hair which reached her shoulders and had a broad nose and well-defined eyelashes that were turned upward at each end.
"Shisui, you look so much like your mother."
"So you're the one I've been hearing about? You saved my husband's life and you've helped my son become such a well-known shinobi too."
"Well, I wouldn't say it's all thanks to me.
Shisui was already really talented, I simply showed him how to use the talent he had and I enhanced it."
Ryuu smiled, looking at Shisui.
"Let me help you with those, dear."
Yagami carried the food to the table.
"Sensei, I never got to thank you for what you did."
"Anytime Shisui," Ryuu responded.
"Sensei?"
Ryuu looked at Shisui as he bowed his head.
"Thank you for everything, I've never told you how grateful I am to be your student, growing up, you were my hero, the person I looked up to.
You still are that person, and I consider myself too lucky to be your student.
I'm grateful for everything you've done for me, and I'll never let you down, I promise."
'Damn it…' Ryuu wiped a tear off his face.
'Did he rehearse this?'
Ryuu asked himself as he held back tears.
"Shisui, you've never let me down and I don't see that changing at all.
You're still my favorite student."
"Sensei, I'm your only student."
Shisui replied with a slight chuckle.
"I know, you idiot."
Ryuu replied, chuckling as well.
Fun fact of the day: Ryuu's world of Ash (Impure world.) is made of Ash and smoke that comes from previous Phoenix's.
