Chapter 87: An Alliance
When They teleported to Minato, they found him still planning his next attack.
"There you are, where did you go and who's that?" He asked as he looked at Rikuto.
"Hi, I'm Rikuto, Ryuu's elder brother. It's good to meet you, yellow flash." Minato greeted him.
"I see…
Well, I guess that makes us brothers since Ryuu is like a younger brother to me." Minato said with a smile.
Rikuto nodded.
"Anyway, we have to leave," Ryuu added.
"Leave? But we haven't dealt with Kumogakure yet."
Ryuu shook his head.
"They've agreed to join Konoha in an alliance." Minato's eyes widened.
"But when did all this happen?"
"When I went to my Rikuto's place I heard a rumor that Iwagakure was going to ambush Kumogakure and so I negotiated for a peace treaty and an alliance with their Raikage as long as I helped him defeat them.
He knew he had to accept because he had no other choice. So we killed 10,000 Iwa shinobi."
Minato's eyes widened.
"I'm impressed." Ryuu nodded.
"But we have to leave all borders in Kumogakure and they'll leave us, too."
He nodded.
"Do you trust them to do that?"
Ryuu nodded.
"The third Raikage is an honorable man." He nodded.
After that Minato ordered the rest of the camp to go back to Konoha, Ryuu teleported back to Konoha because he had to report to the Hokage as soon as possible.
'I found Sarutobi-sensei with Danzo and the other elders.'
Ryuu told him what happened.
"You saved the Raikage's life and now he wants an alliance and a peace treaty with Konoha?" Ryuu nodded.
"Sarutobi-sensei, doing this could at least balance the scale in the war.
We'd no longer be on the losing end, in terms of military strength, Kumogakure is second to us and the only reason Iwagakure is so confident is because they have quantity.
If we combine our forces, I'm sure we can stop Iwagakure and its massive amounts of shinobi."
He nodded and took out his pipe.
'Ryuu has everything it takes to be a Hokage. he made peace with a village that hated Konohagakure since the days of the second Hokage.
Maybe it's time I expand my options for who the next Hokage will be because if there's one thing that I'm sure of is that I will not remain as the Hokage after the war, I've caused too much damage as it is.'
The Hokage said to himself.
"This is a foolish deal, Konohagakure cannot trust Kumo, they'll betray us at any given moment, should I remind you of that time they tried to kidnap our Jinchuriki?"
Danzo added.
"Danzo is right, how sure are you that they won't attempt another kidnap? Didn't one of their criminals kill the second Hokage?"
Ryuu folded his fist.
"The fact that they've accepted an alliance with us enough.
The people from Kumogakure have a significant amount of pride, accepting my help is proof that they won't betray us, but if we show hesitation and mistrust, I can assure you that it will not end well."
Ryuu nodded.
"Ryuu's right, the more we hesitate, the more they will suspect us and we will continue fighting.
Ryuu made this deal and saved countless lives. Now let's hope he can lead us through this war."
Ryuu nodded.
"Fine, but if this backfires, don't say we didn't warn you two," Koharu said.
"Very well then, let me contact the fire Daimyo to ally, thank you for this Ryuu, with this, the war is no longer a one-sided battle and we're finally on even terms." Ryuu nodded.
Danzo slammed his fist on the table as he stood up.
"Hiruzen, this isn't the way! After all the bloodshed from our village, the children, and the elderly, this is an insult to their memories!"
"So what? Do we shed more blood? Do we lose more people? Fighting more will solve nothing, but will only cause more hatred and death!" The Hokage responded.
Danzo sat back down with a grumpy face.
"Hokage-sama, when the fire Daimyo accepts, I want to be the one to deliver the documents to Kumogakure." He nodded.
Ryuu left the office and went back to Minato.
"Ryuu, perfect timing, I want you to escort this unit back to the village, I'm needed elsewhere." Ryuu nodded.
"Well then, I'll see you sometime later, it was good meeting you, Rikuto."
"Good meeting you too, Minato."
He nodded, then teleported away.
'Rikuto stayed with me as I escorted the unit back to Konoha, so far we were fortunate not to be attacked by anyone.
A month was passing since we began our journey back.
Then one night I felt nearly a hundred people approaching us from all directions quickly.'
"Rikuto, Rikuto wake up." Ryuu shook him and he slowly got up.
"What is it?" He asked.
"We're being ambushed." He got up and grabbed his sword.
Ryuu left a wood clone to guard the unit as he hunted them.
Ryuu entered sage mode.
Ryuu noticed the familiar chakra.
'Don't tell me, this is his doing, if so, has he gone for Kumogakure as well?'
"Damn Danzo, he wants to sever the alliance," Ryuu called Rikuto.
"Rikuto, defend them as I go back to Kumo, I have a feeling they're being attacked."
He nodded.
Ryuu teleported to Kumo.
Ay was training his double lariat with bee and the ground had shattered because of its destructive power.
"What are you doing here?!" He furiously asked.
Ryuu touched the ground.
"I see…" Ryuu entered black lightning mode to move faster and disappeared from Ay and bees eyesight in less than a second.
"Let's see how much you're willing to risk your life." Ryuu opened his Mangekyou Sharingan and threw a Kunai made of his ash to the ground.
"Danzo-sama said we are to sabotage this alliance, but how are we supposed to get there without being spotted?"
A shinobi asked.
"Just do whatever you can to get there, has Oda finished preparing?" He nodded.
"Let's go then."
The other four nodded and followed the leader, wearing the Konoha Jonin uniform.
"What's that?" One of them asked as they pointed to the sky.
"Something is falling, get back!"
They moved away.
The falling object left some cracks on the floor.
"Is that a Kunai?" One of them carefully approached the dark Kunai, it left a sizzling noise.
"I've heard rumors that if you see a Kunai that looks like this lying around, it means that Ryuu Uchiha is nearby and that he knows you're there."
The one from the back said.
"That's nonsense, what would he be doing here, isn't he supposed to be distracted by the others? Even he isn't that powerful, don't forget that they have trained us to subdue such powerful shinobi."
The one that was looking at the Kunai replied.
"Then grab the Kunai, if you truly believe in your words." He nodded.
"Don't be a coward, he's just a brat."
He slowly bent to grab the Kunai.
Sweat was dripping from his face, and he was shivering.
"Fuck it!" He reached for the Kunai.
"Aargh!" He caught fire and within a second he burned to a crisp and it left the Kunai untouched and the same.
"He's here!" Ryuu teleported to them.
"Rasengan!" He hit one of them with a large Rasengan, causing him to fly into the wall.
"What is Danzo planning?!" He asked as he grabbed one of them by the neck.
"Release!" Ryuu released the seal that disabled his ability to talk about the root, then kicked the other one, who attacked him.
"Talk!" He shook his head while sweating.
"I'll deal with you later!" Ryuu gave him his flames and teleported him to his dimension.
"As for you." Ryuu glared at them and removed his Kunai from the ground.
"Stay calm." He told his teammate.
"I see… you have a Kekkei Genkai, isn't that right?"
'My eyesight is black and white again, I hope it's worth it.'
The two of them charged at Ryuu.
"Water dragon jutsu!" A water dragon came at Ryuu.
"Wind Style: gale palm!" He aimed it at Ryuu but was shocked to see Ryuu hadn't moved an inch.
"What? How is that possible?!"
Ryuu took this chance and grabbed him, taking his legs to his dimension.
Half of his body burned and when he tried crawling away, his flame had spread too fast.
"Wh-wh-what are you?"
"A demon."
The other one was panicking and trembling, every attack he threw against Ryuu got countered.
"Mind transmission jutsu!" Ryuu searched his mind and found the kekkei Genkai, then left his consciousness and then killed him.
"I guess it could be useful later."
He teleported to Ay and Bee.
"I apologize for my intrusion earlier, when I was on my way back we encountered Iwa shinobi. Then we captured and found out they were planning an attack here.
I spared one, and I will interrogate them and let you know if they plan something else."
Ay nodded.
Ryuu teleported back to Rikuto, he had gotten ahead by a little.
"So?"
"The root members attempted to sever the alliance by proving that I can't be trusted and my words are empty, I got them and spared one to gather Intel later."
He nodded.
"We should be back in Konoha in a few days." Ryuu nodded.
Just like Rikuto said, they made it back two days after that.
"Ryuu's back!" Kakashi and the others ran to Ryuu and the shinobi and so did other villagers, they gave him and the other shinobi a warm welcome, especially Ryuu, and news of how he defeated 10,000 Iwa shinobi and made an alliance and a peace treaty with Kumogakure spread fast.
Ryuu teleported to the Hokage's office.
"Hokage-sama, we have returned."
He nodded.
He reached into his drawer and grabbed some documents.
"Is that…" He nodded.
"The document stating that Konohagakure and Kumogakure are now allies, The lightning Daimyo and the Fire Daimyo have spoken about the terms and agreements such as the responsibilities and risks for both of us.
I have already signed it and now only the Raikage is left."
Ryuu nodded and took it.
He teleported to the Raikage's office.
"Knock knock knock!"
"What is it?!" He asked.
"Ryuu Uchiha of the hidden leaf is here to see you." His assistant replied.
"Come in!" Ryuu walked in.
His secretary closed the door and left the two of them alone.
"Raikage-sama, I have come here delivering great news." He nodded.
"The Fire Daimyo and the Lightning Daimyo have agreed and Hokage-sama has signed his part in this now only you are left to sign and declare the alliance."
Ryuu gave him the contract.
"I see…" He said as he flipped to the next page.
"I accept." A wide smile appeared on Ryuu's face.
"Raikage-sama, you do not know how much this helped me, thank you."
Ryuu said as he bowed respectfully.
'These Konohagakure shinobi are still strange.' The Raikage gave Ryuu a stern pat on the back.
Ryuu's eyes widened as he felt the Raikage's hand hitting him.
"I'll announce this to my people today, I suggest your Hokage does the same.
In times like this, the people in a village need hope." Ryuu nodded.
"I will travel with Bee and Ay to the land of hot springs where we will meet with the Hokage and confirm this."
Ryuu nodded, then left.
