Chapter 17: A Spar with Minato
'2 weeks passed, and I convinced Fugaku-dono to teach both Kakashi and me genjutsu techniques he also taught me a couple of fire style techniques also some basic ninja skills like walking on walls and water using chakra control, although Kakashi wasn't able to master the technique as fast as I did.'
"Ryuu, I get that you're part of some amazing clan combo, but how are you this talented?"
Ryuu shrugged and said,
"I don't know, Kakashi, I just know a lot of things."
He said while holding his chin.
"Anyway Kakashi, you'll figure it out. I know you will.
You're a genius too, and when we join the academy next year, we'll dominate the other students."
Kakashi looked at Ryuu, full of enthusiasm.
"You're right, compared to you and I, those other guys won't come close we'll both be the best in everything, honestly I think that before we even join the academy both of us will be good enough to be a genin or chunin." Ryuu nodded.
'He's right, we'll both be genius kids in the academy.'
"With all the training we've done, it would surprise me not to be the best in the academy."
Ryuu said.
"By the way, Kakashi, I heard that big bro Minato is back.
Let's go visit him. I bet big sis kushina is with him."
Kakashi nodded.
They left for Minato's place.
"Knock knock knock."
"Hello, is anybody home?"
No one was answering the door again.
"Ryuu, are you sure they're back?"
Just as they were about to leave, Kakashi heard something.
"Ryuu over here." Kakashi pointed inside the window.
'There was a loud noise inside the house. We checked from outside to see what made that noise and we soon found it.'
"What?" I said "No way, that's impossible. It's."
"Big sis kushina!?" both Kakashi and Ryuu screamed in shock as they found Kushina passed out and snoring.
"Hey, can you two keep it down? I wouldn't want to wake her up after a long mission."
Ryuu heard a strange voice whispering to them, they both looked back to see who it was.
"Big br- "just before they could both scream again, he put his hands over their mouths.
"keep quiet and let's go somewhere else."
They both nodded.
After we got to a safe distance, big bro Minato let their mouths go.
"What's going on, Big bro?"
They asked at the same time.
"Calm down, it's just that Kushina is tired from her mission.
She hasn't slept in days.
Luckily, I got some sleep because they called me later as a backup for her team."
Ryuu and Kakashi both looked at each other, confused.
"When Kushina comes back from a long mission it's best not to wake her up or else you might end up with a damaged body, I learned that the hard way, just learn from my mistakes ok?"
A shiver was sent to both their spines and they nodded rapidly.
'We nodded because we knew she was a force to be reckoned with on a good day, but if she's as deadly as big bro described her, it's like a nightmare come true.'
"Anyway, I'm glad to see both of you.
It's been way too long since we last saw each other. I'm sure with your talent and teamwork you've become a deadly duo and you've probably learned a lot of Jutsus and techniques."
The last time they saw each other was nearly a year ago.
"Yeah, we've learned a lot, but not that much ninjutsu, just mostly about the ninja world."
'I didn't want to give him too much info cause I knew he was going to want to test our abilities since we haven't seen each other in so long and I wanted to surprise him with new moves we've picked up on the way.'
Kakashi realized Ryuu's plan and followed on.
"Well, any progress is better than no progress. I'm sure you already know what I'm about to ask next."
Kakashi and Ryuu glanced at each other and smirked.
'We knew what he was planning all along, but we had a plan too.'
"Training ground three?" Ryuu asked, and He nodded, and so they took off to training ground three.
They reached there in just a few minutes. "Wow, I'm already impressed with your speed. You've improved your body strength as well."
He smirked when he said that, which means he was trying to get in our heads.
"Sorry big bro, are both of us scaring your rep at being the most talented kids?"
He smiled and replied.
"I'm already impressed by your perception. You saw right through me when I tried to get in your head, anyway the task is simple: if either of you lands a clean hit against me, you win."
They both smiled and said.
"Sounds like a plan."
They got ready and got some of our equipment ready.
'After we were done preparing, we got to the center of the training grounds and the battle begins.'
Ryuu made the starting move.
"Shuriken shadow clone jutsu!"
*Poof*
they all turned into shadow clones, and they forced Minato to dodge.
Kakashi followed and formed some hand signs.
"Fire style: Fireball back jutsu!"
He shot out fireballs toward Minato, and suddenly he vanished from the spot.
'Damn, when did he learn all this, if it weren't for the jutsu I've been working with Jiraiya-sensei and Hokage-sama I'd be defenseless against that move I can only use this jutsu a few times, I haven't mastered it yet."
He started scanning the battlefield and looked for an opening.
"Wait, where's Kakashi?" his eyes widened, and he turned around. *Slash* Kakashi caught him right through his chest. "Poof" he disappeared and left a log behind. "Huh, substitution. I thought I got a clean hit."
Meanwhile, Ryuu was trying to find Minato.
'I never knew it would be this hard trying to fight, big bro. I hope Kakashi is doing alright, wait I found him.'
Ryuu threw three shurikens toward him.
They hit each other then deflected and came for him at all angles except above.
'I remembered a new jutsu and did some hand signs.'
"Fire style phoenix flower jutsu!"
It appeared like a fireball jutsu, then Ryuu threw some shuriken, and they became multiple flames.
Just when they hit him, he disappeared again.
"You know you could've beaten me, however, let's just end it right here," Minato said as he had a kunai on Ryuu's throat.
"Kakashi, let's wake him up."
Kakashi nodded and cast a genjutsu strong enough to allow Ryuu to escape from him.
"Ryuu, I'm almost out of chakra."
Ryuu nodded.
"Just hold on with this next move. We should end this fight."
As soon as they were done talking, he released the genjutsu.
"I have to admit I didn't expect you guys to be this tough," Ryuu smirked and said,
"I expected you to be this tough, however, it is time to end this fight. Let's go Kakashi."
Kakashi took the lead on this one.
"Shuriken shadow clone jutsu!" he threw 5 Shuriken infused with some chakra. Minato could barely deflect all of them. Ryuu took this chance.
"Fireball jutsu!"
Minato saw it coming however Ryuu was doing some other hand signs.
"Wind style Violent Whirlwind!"
A huge amount of wind was blown from his mouth and enhanced the flame on the Fireball Minato disappeared from where he was and appeared once again behind Ryuu.
"It's over Ryuu, Kakashi must've used up too much chakra now."
*Poof*
"A shadow clone!" Minato looked behind him to find Kakashi Running towards him with a kunai, then he tried to slash him but was too slow. Minato took this chance to get away but was shocked to feel two shadow clones holding him down.
"Now Ryuu!" Kakashi yelled and took a knee, Ryuu charged in, adding chakra to his feet, making him faster. He launched off of Kakashi's knee mid-air.
"Dynamic entry!" and landed it on Minato's chest, it sent Minato far back and Kakashi's shadow clones disappeared. "Finally we won,"
Ryuu said as he was catching his breath.
"Wow, you two have really improved. I fear for the enemies who'll face you."
Minato was tired and trying to catch his breath.
He didn't expect them to do that much damage, so he just went defensively.
"Wow, you guys were amazing. Who knew you would become this strong during such a short time."
Suddenly, they heard a voice in the back."Big sis Kushina!"
Ryuu was so happy to see her that he ran toward her to hug her.
"Wow, even after all that fighting, you still have enough energy to run like that, that's amazing, you know."
She said as she hugged him.
"Could you please teach me some fuinjutsu big sis?"
Ryuus' request shocked Kushina; she didn't expect him to have such an interest so soon.
But she couldn't refuse. He was like a little brother to her.
"Hey Kakashi, would you like to learn some fuinjutsu as well?" Kakashi nodded.
"But first, let's have some food.
After fighting you two, a little food would be great to have right now."
So then they went to a restaurant and ate while catching up on what's been going on since they last met.
