Chapter 20: 1st Day.
Finally, my ninja life is starting. Once I attend the academy, beat Big bro Minato's record, and get perfect scores for my graduation exam, I'll be remembered forever then. As I was plotting in my head, I realized Obito was talking the whole time. "Ryuu, you're not even listening to me, are you?"
"It's not like that Obito, I was just lost in my head you know, plus are we going to ignore the fact that you arrived at a place early." I tried to divert the topic before he gets annoying.
"You're right. I'm earlier than Kakashi this time. This is just a step closer to becoming Hokage!" Ryuu just shook his head."What took you so long Ryuu?" Kakashi asked from on top of the roof. "Huh, Kakashi! Wha- how did you get here this early and why are you on the roof!" Obito got interrupted and started by Kakashi's sudden arrival.
"Hmph, I was wondering when you were going to show yourself." He looked at me surprised, "You knew I was here?" I nodded.
"No, he didn't. He's just lying to look cool." Obito said. "No, I'm not unlike most of you. I don't have to pretend. It's the reason I was able to know when Rin reached." His face always becomes red when he hears her name. "What rin isn't here stop lying about that." I counted from my fingers with a smirk on my face. 5-4-3-2-1 then she walked in. "Oh Obito Kakashi and Ryuu, you're also early too. That's fantastic. I thought I was too early." Obito and Kakashi's mouths were on the floor. I just smirked. "How did you do that, Ryuu?" I shrugged nonchalantly.
Rin was confused cause she didn't know what was going on before she entered the room."Anyway, whatever was going on can wait. Today we're going to be attending our first day at the academy. It's. She going to be great." Rin has always been like this. She's so positive and pure. Obito felt inspired and said. "You're right today, we're starting our first step to being shinobi." Everyone nodded. We went and sat down and talked about what's been going on. We hadn't been together like this in a while.
After a few minutes, some students and teachers arrived and soon the whole place was filled with people. I figured we were just going to get introduced today. They put me in the same class as my friends and I met some of Kakashi's friends as well, like Might Guy, Kurenai Genma, and some other people. I also saw that Asuma was here. I used to see him in Sarutobi-sensei's house, although we never really talked; Doubtful that he remembers me. We sat on top of the last row. Kakashi and I sat next to each other, but I sat near the window.
I was looking around and noticed that many people here were of various ages, even though we all came here for the same reason. Some of them were looking older than me. As I was looking around, I felt a powerful chakra on the way here. It felt nearly 5 times more than the Hokage and it's like it had more "Impossible!" I whispered to myself. Kakashi looked at me and asked, "What's wrong Ryuu?"
"Kakashi, there's someone in the village who wields more chakra than even the Hokage himself, and he's not a Jinchuriki, he might be an enemy or maybe an ally I'm not sure yet it's hard to tell from this distance." Kakashi had a grim face as I finished speaking.
Ryuu and Kakashi prepared for an attack, but just as he was about to enter, Ryuu put his kunai down.
"Kakashi, I don't think he's here to harm us. The sensory types would've caught him already, but anyway, just don't let your guard down. His chakra feels strange.
As soon as he entered, no one noticed him because of how loud they were being.
"Ahem, May I have the attention of the class!?"
Everyone suddenly kept quiet and looked at him.
"Welcome to the academy today we will not be doing much I just want to learn about you all, once you come to the center of the class I would like to know your names and why you became a ninja, from then we will kick in Alright, I'll start, my name is Krueger Nakamura you can call me Krueger-sensei, my dream is… not something I would like to share With you guys, anyway we'll go from bottom to top starting from the right."
The way he behaved reminded me of someone and yet I've never met him before he was strange.
Many people in this class were quite dull all everyone was talking about is being a powerful ninja with no real reason or ambition but some of them were interesting, like Might Guy, he wants to be a ninja with only taijutsu skills everyone laughed or mocked him but I'm sure he'll be a force to be reckoned with in the future if you focus on one thing only and you're as determined as he is I think he'll even become more powerful than me in taijutsu.
Rins dream was to help her comrade in the best way possible, why am I not surprised she always thinks about the rest of us before herself it doesn't matter what the stakes are, well everyone knows Obito's dream is to become Hokage, I hope he becomes a great Hokage but I'm worried that now that I'm leaving the Uchiha compounds no one will wake him up in time and he'll become lazy.
Anyway, it's Kakashi's turn. I wonder what he's going to say. I've never really asked him and he's never mentioned it. Kakashi went to the center of the class and said.
"My name is Kakashi Hatake and my dream is to protect the ones I care about and help them as much as I can." I don't know why I expected anything else from him. WELP I guess I'm next.
Ryuu walked to the center of the class, and everyone was staring at his red hair. He didn't care about that at all, he kind of expected this. "My name is Ryuu Uchiha" as he said his last name, he felt a gaze from the chunin behind him. Huh, what's his problem. "And my dream is to become the most powerful ninja of all time, even greater than all the Hokage that includes Lord third and the ones who will come after him."
"I won't lose anyone I love ever again." I whispered to myself."
"That's a great goal Ryuu."
Krueger-sensei?
I looked back and saw Krueger-sensei behind him with a creepy smile on his face. He's quite weird.
Ryuu was on his way back to his seat and just before he sat down, sensei asked, "Ryuu, you have some brilliant hair, did you get that from your mother's side?" It shocked Ryuu to hear this from his sensei, but kept a cool face. "Yes, my mother… she was from the Uzumaki clan."
"Ah yes, it's a shame what happened to them truly a clan to be reckoned with, if you ask me, but they didn't deserve what happened to them." Ryuu frowned and just went back to his seat.
That weirdo Krueger Nakamura, what kind of name is that, anyway.
"Now that we've introduced each other let's move on, I hate to say this but you all have to understand that not all of you will Graduate from the academy it's a shame but we have to face the reality, but you must never give up you can always try again, the friends you make here when you graduate will not only be your friends but will also be your comrades and after all the years you will spend together they will be like your brothers and sisters but anyway I don't want to bore you with such things let's begin with the lessons."
We did some lessons; It surprised me how easy these were. It's too basic for me. I got bored fast and fell asleep.
"Ryuu, wake up. I just asked you a question. Stop being rude,"
oh great, it's Krueger-sensei.
"Sorry for that. It's just that these are too easy and boring, no disrespect to you."
"Too easy. You say fine, then prove it and answer the questions on this sheet." I don't like the way he's smirking while saying that. *POOF* a scroll appeared in his hand.
"There are 50 questions on this paper. If you answer at least 15, correctly we can go outside for some training. If not, then we continue with my lesson deal?" I nodded. Everyone in the class looked at me with anger. I just smiled and looked at the paper. "WHAT! This isn't what we've learned from this lesson." Krueger-sensei just smiled and continued with the lesson.
Well, it might not be what we learned, but it still isn't difficult at all. I'll finish it in a few minutes.
After 10 minutes Ryuu completed it, and he raised his hand but it.
"Krueger-sensei I'm finished."
"Huh, don't be ridiculous Ryuu, stop playing games. Are you sure you've answered every question on the paper?" I nodded.
He grabbed my paper and read through it. On every page, his eyes would widen. "Ryuu you, do you have any idea what you've just done? I must go to Lord Hokage, ill be back."
"What was that about Ryuu?" Kakashi asked. I just shrugged cause I also didn't know How to answer Kakashi.
Meanwhile, in the Hokage's office…
Knock knock knock… "Come in."
"Hokage-sama, I don't want to waste any time here cause I know you're busy with the war, but this is important." Krueger placed the paper on the table.
The Hokage read it, and he had the same expression on his face. Every page he flipped the more he became shocked. He checked the front page to see who wrote this.
"Impossible. You can't tell me he did this with less than a day's lesson. This is incredible, but why did you give him the test?."
"Well, he got bored cause it was too easy, so I gave him this test as a joke cause I didn't think he'd do it like that, he got perfect scores at such a young age if you ask me the only benefit he has from the academy is bonding with kids his age."
The Hokage nodded and entered deep thought about what he was going to do with Ryuu, Meanwhile in the academy…
Obito tired of waiting and asked, "So does this mean that we can go outside now?" I just shrugged and said. "Just give him a minute. I'm sure he'll be back in no time."
"Hey Ryuu, what was that paper about?" Kakashi asked.
"It was like a test, but I don't think he expected me to answer 10 correctly. Forget finishing it. Maybe I'm just too amazing, you know." I smiled and put my hands behind my neck.
"Whatever you say," Kakashi said.
Just when Ryuu relaxed, he opened his eyes and saw that Krueger-sensei appeared out of nowhere. "Ryuu, come with me. The rest of the class goes outside and trains their shuriken jutsu. I will watch from afar, so do nothing reckless or stupid."
I wanted to go as well Sigh.
"Where are we going, sensei?" He just ignored me, but once we were out of class, he said. "Hokage-sama wants to see you, don't worry, you're not in trouble."
After a long silent and awkward walk to the Hokage's office, we finally got there. Nothing much had changed except for the added security. It must be because of the war. Knock knock knock "Come in"
"Ryuu, I'm glad to see you. How've you been?" Well, at least he's more joyful than before. "I'm doing quite ok Sarutobi-sensei," I replied.
"Well, that's great to hear." He said before the smile on his face left.
"I would like to get the chase. The reason I called you is this." He pulled out the paper I had done before."What is it Sarutobi-sensei?"
"Well Ryuu Krueger has told me about how he gave you this worksheet as a joke, but I have to inform you that this wasn't just any sheet of paper, it's actually the written exam for Graduating from the academy and somehow you completed it I'm record time plus your now one of two people to get a perfect score at such a young age, all on 15 minutes, if I were to tell people this they would call me ridiculous I thought it was ridiculous when Krueger brought it to me."
"Sarutobi-sensei, no disrespect or anything, but that paper was too easy for me. I'm quite disappointed if that's all it takes to become a genin." I said nonchalantly.
It shocked both the Hokage and Krueger to hear this, and they both looked down in shame.
"Very well then, if that's how you feel, you leave us no choice. We will have to proceed with this exam, Ryuu. How would you feel if we were to hold an early exam for you?"
"Sure" I responded and shrugged, I was acting like it was nothing at all but honestly it's like a dream come true, not only am I going to graduate early but I'm crushing Big bro Minato's record as well, This is perfect.
Little did Ryuu know that while he was plotting In his head a sinister smile appeared on his face and the Hokage looked kind of worried and so did Krueger-sensei.
