Chapter 154: "I Don't drink."
"Hey, let's go inside, I'm tired," Mangetsu suggested as he rested his blade above his shoulders.
"Um, Mangetsu, do you have that kinda tea the Mizukage has as well?"
Mangetsu shook his head.
"I have something better in mind," Mangetsu replied with a smirk.
They headed towards Mangetsu's house again, Ryuu removed his shoes as he entered while Mangetsu went somewhere else.
"I'll be back in a second, don't make a mess while I'm gone," Mangetsu said as he left Kisame and Ryuu in the room.
"At least tell me why you're in Kirigakure."
"It's no secret. I came here for peace, Yagura wants an alliance with my village, I think it'll be a good idea, I'm tired of war." Kisame scoffed.
"As long as shinobi exist, there will always be war and betrayal." Ryuu shook his head.
"I disagree. We can bring peace between the 5 great nations. I still believe it's possible, but it starts with two nations allying, and then the next and the next and so on until all great nations fight for each other, not against each other."
"If it's as easy as you say, then why isn't there peace yet? That sounds like a fool's dream." Kisame stated.
"Hmph, I've been told that many times, you know.
Well, to put it simply, the reason peace hasn't been made yet is because of the selfishness of mankind.
Once Konoha has something that another nation doesn't, they will want it too or they will destroy it so that all are equal, it sucks but that's just the way it is, you know.
But I'll find a way to satisfy everyone."
Mangetsu came back holding three glasses and a bottle of sake.
"I can't drink, I'm on a mission."
Mangetsu shook his head.
"Nope, you have to drink, this is a special bottle of sake that came from the land of honey."
"If the boy doesn't want to drink it, I'll be happy to take the other glass," Kisame stated.
"I'm not a boy," Ryuu replied.
"Well, you certainly aren't a man, either."
Mangetsu and Kisame laughed at Ryuu, who glared in silence.
'I'll let loose this one time, Nobu, don't interfere, this is for the sake of the village, I just hope I don't destroy this village while I'm drunk.'
Mangetsu poured the sake into the glasses.
"Fine, but you should know, you did this to yourself, I don't handle alcohol well. There's a reason I said I Don't drink, not that I've never drank."
Ryuu said as he took a glass.
Ryuu looked at the alcohol inside and drifted off into the memory of him waking up after his first time drinking.
'So many houses… destroyed…
Fire's too…'
"Gulp…" Ryuu gulped in fear before raising his glass.
"To new allies!" They raised their glasses and drank.
"Man, this hits the spot, you know."
Ryuu said as he finished his drink and poured another one.
Kakashi watched from afar with his Sharingan on.
'This is great, Ryuu's drinking again. This won't be good, and I won't stop him by myself.
I'll wait for Obito to arrive, it won't be much help but still better than going alone.'
1 hour later, Obito appeared beside him.
"What did he say?" Kakashi asked.
"He sent someone to deliver the documents about the alliance."
Kakashi nodded.
"Take your pick between a drunk Ryuu or a civil war that could lead to a failed alliance."
Obito frowned.
"We need to get him out of there."
"Yeah." Obito teleported with Kakashi beside Ryuu.
They found Kisame and Mangetsu both passed out, and Ryuu out-drank them both.
Ryuu had multiple empty bottles around him and was spinning one of them on the floor with his eyes closed. His cheeks were red and once his eyes opened they weren't fully opened.
Kakashi and Obito looked at each other, they signaled each other to keep quiet and sneak up on him.
Obito got close to him, but a drop of his sweat hit the floor.
Ryuu's eyes opened, and he stopped spinning the bottle.
He had his Sharingan on; it spun around and formed his eternal Mangekyou pattern.
Obito jumped onto Ryuu to take him into Kamui.
"Ah!" Obito yelled out in pain as Ryuu turned into black lightning, shocking Obito.
"Damn it." Kakashi started sweating.
Kakashi started getting paranoid and looked around with his sword pointed out.
Whoosh!
He quickly turned around after hearing a sound.
Kakashi opened the door to the next room.
Boom!
Kakashi flew through the walls and doors.
Ryuu's eyes were closed, and he was finding it hard to balance himself.
"Bakashi." Ryuu said as he slowly walked towards Kakashi.
"Ryuu, snap out of it! You're drunk!"
"Me? Drunk? I'm not old enough to drink, Bakashi."
Kakashi facepalmed.
"But I'm old enough to sleep, you know…
And I like to sleep in my bed, you burp! Know."
Ryuu rushed his chakra into his eye and slowly teleported himself out of there.
"Great, now I have to wake Obito up, I can't face him alone. That suicide.
He's too unpredictable like this."
Kakashi went over to Obito.
Kakashi shook Obito, but Obito didn't respond.
"Obito, wake up!"
Knock knock knock…
Kakashi went to open the door.
'Who is this now?'
"Who are you?" Mei asked as she walked in.
"I'm Kakashi Hatake, Ryuu's brother."
"What happened here?" Mei asked as she looked at the mess they created.
The ground had cracks across it, and the walls were shattered.
Kisame and Mangetsu were still knocked out, and Suigetsu was sound asleep during all this.
"I'm sorry for the mess, Ryuu had a drink, and well… That never goes well for him." Kakashi stated as he scratched his head with a nervous smile.
"Now I see why he doesn't drink."
Mei went over to Mangetsu.
"Mangetsu, get up." She shook him.
"And you, Kisame, wake up."
They both slowly got up.
"What do you want, kid?" Kisame asked, assuming it was Ryuu who woke him up.
"Oh, I didn't realize we'd have a special guest here.
Mangetsu, you didn't tell me you and Mei Terumi were…" Kisame got punched before he finished his sentence.
"Looks like you boys can't handle a drink."
Mei stated as she held a bottle in her fingers.
Mangetsu looked at the house and the destruction.
"What happened to my house?! Is Suigetsu alright?!" He rushed to his brother's room and checked if he was alright.
"Whew..." Mangetsu said, and he quietly closed the door.
Kisame had a sinister smirk on his face as he looked at the awakened Obito and Kakashi.
"Mangetsu, do you recognize these two?"
Mangetsu shook his head.
"Am I supposed to?" Kisame nodded.
"The silver-haired one is Kakashi Hatake, also known as 'The copy ninja' the other one is 'Korosenai Obito' These two are worth quite a lot, I'm sure they could cover the payment for your house and the whole compound."
Kisame stated as he unsheathed his Katana.
"Wait, why do they call Obito unkillable?"
"It's more like untouchable, he makes himself intangible with some sort of jutsu, and no one knows how he does it."
"Don't even try it, Kisame, these two are guests of Kirigakure, they're both close to Ryuu Uchiha, who we're supposedly supposed to look for.
He can't handle alcohol like the rest of us, as you can see by the renovation he did for your house, Mangetsu."
"Right." Mangetsu went to get his blade.
"And by the way, you two are responsible for whatever he does, he's underage, and you let him drink." Kisame scoffed.
"Fine." Kisame and Mangetsu said.
"Is anyone here a good sensor?" Mei asked.
"That won't help, Ryuu can completely erase his chakra from anyone, especially when he uses his Sharingan to teleport," Kakashi stated.
"Well, that's just fantastic," Kisame added.
"You two know him best, any ideas?" Mei asked.
Kakashi and Obito looked at each other and shrugged.
"Ryuu is a natural fighter, and he loves fighting, when he's drunk, his desire to fight is increased by a lot, but he won't fight you like he normally does.
Usually, he holds back, even when he's in a life-or-death situation, this time, instead of holding back, he will play with us as a cat plays with a mouse he won't go for the kill but he also won't hold back too much. To top that, he's also a master of the drunken fist with his variants of it.
However, we have an advantage.
Ryuu's drunk, and he'll see it as too bothersome to move away and hunt far from the house, but that doesn't mean we can simply run away and hope he falls asleep. He nearly destroyed half of the entire village last time.
It only means we know he's nearby and if we stick together, we have a chance to wear him out, he's only like this for 20 minutes, and after that, he'll fall asleep." Kakashi said as he prepared to fight.
"You make him sound like he's a monster, are you two even related?" Mei asked.
"He's adopted." Kakashi embarrassingly replied.
Whoosh!
They heard a sound coming from the corridor.
"Ryuu?" Obito cautiously walked towards the voice, he used Kamui just in case.
"Obito, I'm over here." Obito opened the door.
"Wait! No!" Obito got dragged inside.
"Stay away from anywhere near that room," Kakashi commanded.
"Ryuu, you're creeping me out here!" Mangetsu claimed.
He had the executioner's blade inside his room.
"Do you guys hear that?" Mei asked.
She could hear snoring in another room.
"Mei, whatever you do, don't go into that room, do you hear me?" Mei didn't respond, she continued walking to the room.
"What's wrong with her?" Kisame asked.
"He put her into a genjutsu, she's gone now."
"How? She didn't even look into his eyes or see him, none of us did."
"He doesn't have to, Ryuu can use sound to cast a genjutsu."
"Of course he can." Kakashi, Kisame, and Mangetsu were the only ones left.
"We can't even use ninjutsu in here, how are we supposed to defend ourselves?" Mangetsu asked.
"Be creative," Kakashi responded.
He entered lightning chakra mode to enhance his reflexes.
"I found you."
Ryuu was across the corridor, he stood above the walls.
"Kakashi, you and I were supposed to fight in the Chūnin exams, I think we should fight now, you know." He said, before entering lightning chakra mode.
Ryuu ran around the walls in a disfigured way before heading toward Kakashi.
Kakashi didn't waste time and headed toward Ryuu.
Kakashi went for the punch, but Ryuu blocked it and swept his legs.
Ryuu went to punch Kakashi, but Kakashi caught his fist before it landed.
Ryuu head-butted Kakashi, causing the floor to crack and knocking him out.
"Ha Ha! Kakashi, I'm a Chūnin now!" Ryuu said with a bright smile on his face.
"Burp!"
"Any ideas, Kisame?" He didn't respond.
"C'mon man, we just met!" Ryuu wobbled towards Mangetsu.
"Fire style:"
Ryuu collapsed on the ground.
Mangetsu slowly approached Ryuu, who was snoring loudly.
Mangetsu used a bottle to poke him around, to see if he was awake.
*Poof!*
"What? A shadow clone?" Mangetsu looked back.
"Chidori spear!" Mangetsu liquefied, but Ryuu shocked Mangetsu, and knocked him out.
"Aw, no fun," Ryuu stated as he took another bottle.
He poured the bottle into his mouth, but only a droplet came out.
"I don't feel so good..."He said before blacking out.
