Genius admiral in another world

Chapter 1: Another world?

The sun gleams into a room with the walls adorned with posters of Warships and admirals, Models of the BB-35 USS Texas and the IJNS Yamato stand on a shelf in the sunlight.

The Boy the room belongs too is 17-year old Austin Hernandez who is well knowledge in the art of warship designs and strategy.

On his computer he is playing a warship simulator in which he is controlling a battleship with 3 others acting as their admiral with his decisive shot calling being heard by his team.

"Move hard starboard side" he says as the ship rotates to gain a better advantage to fire all 4 cannons.

The ship was the BB-35 USS Texas with 4 14-inch cannons used by the United States in the second World War, the ship was given the name of "Last surviving Dreadnought" as the ship served both world wars.

As the game continues Austin gives command to the other Captains on what course to take "Fuso move towards zone A with the Watake and capture it, me and the Lexington will proved support."

The USS Lexington was a Aircraft carrier built in 1940 and finishing in 1941 she was a Essex class aircraft carrier with the capability to carry 32 F6f- hellcat fighters and torpedo bombers.

The Fuso was a Japanese battleship built in 1914 the battleship was build with 6 twin 365 mm (about 1.2 ft) guns and a dedicated crew.

The Watake was a destroyer class the was adorned with small weaponry and torpedo tubes with the sole purpose of taking out enemy ships with her high damage torpedo's.

As the battle went on the team would fight fiercely as the team neared victory Austin destroyed the last enemy.

"Firing on the enemy Aircraft carrier" he said as he fired the USS Texas' AP (Armor piercing) rounds all 8 shots made direct hits and sunk the Aircraft carrier Zuiho.

The game let out a triumphant sound as Austin was awarded MVP.

"Good game everyone you all did your best" he says "It's no problem we wouldn't be in the top 50 with out your organization" replied Miyuzaki. Hayato Miyuzaki (ship: Fuso) was a man from Japan who was fascinated by battleships like Austin, he was the one who got Austin into warship simulator and would help Austin learn the ropes.

"Yeah yeah I know that how good I got" replied Vladi. Vladi (Ship:Watake) was a Russian born immigrant in Japan who met Austin through the game after a match where he was promptly demolished in a duel game mode.

"Were almost in the top 25 we only have one more team in our way, we got this in the bag already" Said Yamashiro.

Haruka Yamashiro (Ship: Lexington) was an Japanese University student who is studying at a university in Hokkaido.

She became interested in the game after her friend told her about it and met Austin through a forum for random people to get together and play the game.

"Well that's it for me tonight I'll see you guys tomorrow I got school" said Austin

"Aw man just one more were almost there" replied Vladi.

"No no he's got to study so he get into a university" Yamashiro argued.

"She's right with his knowledge he's got a bright future ahead of him in the world of Ship design" Miyuzaki replied.

"Yeah yeah you've been telling me that for the last year but I'm still deciding on what I should do" Austin replied.

"You should figure it out soon since you're entrance exams are just around the corner. Have you been studying properly?" Yamashiro asked

"Yeah I've been studying everyday but I don't know if it would be enough" Austin replied

"You shouldn't be too hard on yourself you still have a few months till then I know you can do this" Yamashiro replied

"Man y'all in love with each other or something cause if so then I support it" Vladi joked

"I-It's not like that!" Austin shot back

"Yeah it's not besides I'm more focused on my studies anyway" Yamashiro replied

"Well I'm gonna get off then goodnight everybody" Austin said

"Goodnight" Replied everyone.

Austin shutdown his PC and would get ready for bed but before he does he reads a book on the history of naval warfare and technology throughout history and thinks to himself *What should I do at the rate I'm gonna end up disappointing my parents.* Austin thought

Austin's dream was to be hailed as a renowned Naval strategist but in a world with no war on the water he felt that it wouldn't come to pass.

He would slowly drift off to sleep and dream about him on the open waters on a ship he commands.

As he slept a phenomenon occurred, a portal opened and sucked him into it.

Austin began to dream about him leading a ship as its captain with a woman at his side he couldn't see her face but could hear her voice.

Austin would awake to a scene, an open and vast ocean lay Infront of him and he was seeing such a sight through a window.

Austin looked confused at what he was seeing as him house was no where near the ocean.

"Ah I see you've woken up" said an unknown voice.

Austin looked towards the voice and saw a men dressed strangely he was wearing medieval clothing but *they were in the 21st century* thought Austin as he replied.

"Where am I and why are you dressed like that?" Austin asked.

"well as for my clothed this is my everyday wear and as for where you are your in the myu village" The mystery man responded.

"My name is Alvin it's a pleasure to meet you" Alivn added.

"How did I get here? I remember falling asleep then waking up here." Austin asked.

"I found you in the forest unconscious it looked like you wandered there yourself and fell asleep" Alvin responded.

"I apologize for disturbing you but do you know the way back to Houston?" Austin asked

"Houston?" Alvin responded looking puzzled.

"I've never heard of a village or Country called that." Alvin responded.

"If I may ask what country are we in? Austin asked.

"Your in the Kingdom of Neptune" Alvin replied with a concered look

"Kingdom of Neptune?!" Austin replied.

"what year is it" Austin hastily asked.

"It's the year 1560" Alvin replied.

"1560?!" Austin shouted with a confused look.

"whoa whoa calm down I'm pretty sure this is common knowledge" Alvin said with a concerned look.

Austin began to think about what he was just told, but he had to figure out how he got there as he was in an unfamiliar country and 600 years in the past no less.

"Where are my clothes at?" Austin asked.

"oh they were in terrible condition so I tossed them out, buy don't worry I brought you a change of clothes" Alvin told him.

"Thank you, uh can I get some privacy to get ready?" Austin asked.

"Sure come on out when your ready" Alvin said while exiting the room closing the door behind him.

"Holy shit I'm really in a different time period I got sent back in time" Austin told himself

"I've got to be dreaming there's no way this is real"Austin said while pinching his arm.

He felt the pain, "It's real of all of it is real" Austin said defeatedly.

"what am I gonna do?" he asked himself as he got dressed.

*I have to ask for a map so I can figure out what continent I'm on at the very least* he thought to himself.

Austin would proceed to walkout the room dressed in the casual wear of 16th century common people and would walk into the front of an inn.

Realizing he was at a inn he would be greeted by Alvin.

"Hey boy it's good to see you up and out if that bed" Alvin said with a smile.

"Thank you for the clothes and room I promise I'll pay you back for them" Austin responded.

"no need to worry about it I'm just glad your feeling better" Alvin replied.

"Mr. Alvin if it's not to much to ask do you perhaps have a map of the continents?" Austin asked.

"Yeah I have one Lemme get it for you" Alvin replied.

While Austin waited he would see a woman in a naval uniform of the Neptune Kingdom wall into the inn and ask for a room she was a beauty with hair as blue as the sea and eyes as deep as an ocean.

To him she was the type if woman he dreamed of a women who embodied the ocean and open sea.

"I'm back he's what you're looking for" Alvin said loudly as he put the map on the table.

"AHHH you scared me!" Austin shouted in response.

"what's wrong were you day dreaming about Ms. Officer over there?" Alvin asked teasingly.

"N-no I wasn't staring at her" Austin responded flustered.

"anyway you said you found the map right?" Austin asked.

"yep here you go this map shows the continents." Alvin replied

The map presented 6 continents with the kingdom of Neptune in the center of it all as an Island nation due to its strategic location and its control of the continent.

"What about the other 5?" Austin would ask.

"The other 5 continents were the desert continent Miza, the ice continent Glacier, the fire continent Hades, the land continent Gias and the dark continent Darsh and lastly our continent Neptune" Alvin replied.

"The continent of Neptune is the only unified continent with the rest being split into different kingdoms,Republics, and principalities with the Dark continent not containing any known Country" Alvin added.

"so we're the only continent that is unified under one banner?" Austin asked.

"Exactly" Alvin responded.

"And who might you be?" a voice from behind Austin asked.

Austin quickly turned his head and saw the woman from earlier and was to stunned to speak.

"I-I uhhh" he said flustered.

"He is a bit tired right now so why don't you come back in a little while" Alvin responded

"well I'll be back then I apologize for taking you by surprise"

The lady proceeds to walk out of the inn "Hey you never really told me your name" Alvin said looking at Austin.

" r-right my name is Austin Hernandez" Austin responded

"well its a pleasure to meet you Austin" Alvin responded with a smile on his face

"now then ill introduce you to some people" Alvin said as he walks Austin to the counter

"This is my wife Lilia" Alvin tells Austin

"It's a pleasure to meet you I see my husband's already taking a liking to you" Lilia said, Her hair was a crimson red and her eyes were slit with a beautiful pale completion that complemented her hair while she had a calming yet assertive demeanor.

"And I'll also like to introduce you to my daughter Alvina" he says while gesturing towards her "Hello there my name is Alvina it's a pleasure to meet you" Alvina responded, her hair was the same color as her mother's with fair skin and her eyes were green like her fathers with a personality similar to his you can tell she would become popular among social crowds.

"It's a pleasure to meet both of you my name is Austin Hernandez" Austin said

"Well now that we're all introduced I'm pretty sure your hungry huh Austin?" Alvin asked

"well yeah I would say so I could go for some food" Austin responded

"Then ill get some dinner cooked up, come now Alvina I could use your help" Lilia said

"Alright I'm coming" Alvina responded"

Well since it's just us two ill show you around the village" Alvin said while leading Austin to the door.

As the door opened and the light shined through the door Austin was able to see the vast landscape the village covered by tall mountains and forests as far as the eye could see, there were children running and playing along with other villagers going about their daily lives.

Austin was taken aback by the scene Infront of him thinking that he had indeed gone back in time. "What's with that look?" Alvin asked

"I-its nothing don't worry" Austin responded

"shall we walk around the village " Austin added

"Alright let's get going ill take you to the village doctor first to get you checked up when I found you you were cold to the touch" Alvin said

"Alright" Austin responded.

Austin and Alvin would walk down the dirt road to the village healer he would see many different people living their lives so differently than he did, as they continued walking he would see a woman with ears and a tail like a wolf, he was taken aback as he had never seen one in person.

"You've never seen a demi-human before?" Alvin asked

"Eh well I can't really say I have" Austin responded

"Well not everywhere has demi-humans, here in Neptune the demi-humans are treated and seen as equals but in other nations that sentiment isn't shared" Alvin said with a worried look

"Well were almost at the healer it's just up the road" Alvin said.

The two arrived at the healers place and the building looked like something out of a fantasy novel and the two would enter into the building "Hey Zebres you here!" Alvin shouted

"I'm over here in the office" a voice replied back.

The two would walk to the office in the back and there would be a man with long white hair glasses and pale skin with pointed ears.

"Hello nice to meet you my name is Zebres I'm the healer in this village" Zebres told Austin

"It's nice to meet you my name is Austin Hernandez" Austin replied

" Austin hmm Hernandez is an unusual family name are you perhaps a type of nobility?" Zebres asked while Alvin looked on curiously

"no I'm not nobility" Austin responded

"well alright then. What bring you both here today" Zebres asked

"I wanted to ask if you could take a look at Alvin here? He was in pretty bad shape when you found him" Alvin asked

"That should be no problem" Zebres replied

"now please take a seat" Zebres said to Austin

"Okay" Austin replied. Austin sat down in a chair in front of Zebres as Zebres put his hand on Austin's chest and said "Heal" as a light began to glow from his hands and an aura surrounded them both and Austin would feel like his body became light.

"Alright you should be good to go" Zebres told Austin

"w-was that healing magic?!" Austing shouted with a shocked expression

"Yes its was all healers use it as its a basic spell" Zebres responded

"Austin did you not know that healing magic existed?" Alvin asked

"well no not really" Austin replied

"Well there are 4 typed of magic in this world: Fire magic, water magic, Air magic, and earth magic. Each type of magic had its own specific set of requirements to be used it's rare for someone to be proficient in all 4 but common for some Magic users to be proficient in 2" Zabres explained

"Along with the main 4 there are also sub-elements with healing magic being a sub element of earth magic" Zebres added

"So how do I know what magic I'm proficient with?" Austin asked

"Well there are tests to see but it's getting late so we should head back, it would be bad if we showed up late for dinner" Alvin said.

"Alright let's go back then, thank you for the treatment" Austin said to Zebres

"No problem if you get hurt again you know who to see" zebres cheerfully responded.

The two would head back to the inn where Lilia and Alvina would lay out the dinner they had made "This looks delicious" Austin stated

"Well my wife's cooking is unmatched" Alvin claimed

"You flatter me too much you two" Lilia said while laying her head on her hand

"Alvina go head and have a seat so we can eat" Lilia said

"okay" Alvina said while taking a seat next too Austin

"Lets eat" said by all of them.

Austin would begin to eat and start to tear up as the food he was eating would remind him of home.

"Austin are you alright?" Asked Lilia

"yeah I'm fine it's just that the food reminds me of home" Austin responded

"well I'd you like you can have seconds" Lilia said while handing him another bowl.

"Thank you Lilia" Austin said.

The night would continue until Austin went to into his room after a bath, he laid spread out on the bed and thought to himself that this is his new life in a new world, if this was true then he would live his life to the fullest to take advantage of the world he was sent too.
