"PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! NO! PLEASE!"
The second to last slave screamed as Jules dragged him by his hair over to Sky.
"PLEASE! I HAVE A FAMILY!"
"I literally have an ability that tells me if you're lying, and you are lying." Sky froze his mouth to stop him from screaming again then froze his limbs to stop moving.
After thirty seconds the slave's body fell limb and tiny particles of white light exited the corpse and went inside Sky's body.
{Received 54 str}
"Damn, I got his lowest stat. Oh well."
Sky was happy to see this amazing ability of his bear with such great power. This made him feel angry that he could not have done the same thing to Lucious.
The cleaning slaves, although deeply afraid of their cruel master, quickly picked up the body and tossed it to the ocean. They were given orders by Sky to throw the bodies away.
"Last one, Master." Jules brought the last slave over to Sky. Unlike the rest of the slaves he appeared calm, but he was slightly shivering.
The slave in question was the strongest one out of the others. He was a bald skinny middle aged man as tall as Sky.
Sky pinned him down on the ground and the man did not even try to escape.
"Do you not fear death?" Sky asked, curiously while looking at him.
The man looked at Sky still shivering and could only shake his head slightly.
"Hm."
Sky activated the ritual sacrifice and the thirty second cooldown started when the black pentagon appeared underneath the slave.
The slave in question only said, "finally." softly as he had been free'd from something.
{Received 240 strength}
{Skill level up}
{Ritual sacrifice: lvl 2 → lvl 3: Steals 30% of one random stat of the sacrifice}
"Sweet." Sky smiled. Gaining that much strength from a scroll and leveling combined would've taken him a long time.
{Sky Rouge}
{Level 183}
{Stat points: 0}
{HP: 13,930/13,930}
{Mana: 7,440/7,440}
{Str: 541 Dex: 495 Spd: 450 Int: 358 Mind: 390 Vig: 391}
{Strength stat has reached 300: Skill evolved}
{Super strength V2: Strength is increased by 100% for one hour. 10 minute cooldown}
{Strength stat has reached 500: A new skill has been unlocked}
{Unarmed combat damage has increased to 100%. Heavy weapon damage increased to 100%. Shields block 100% of total damage}
{Echo: lvl 1: Any attacks will phase through any solid object and deal 10% of user's physical damage}
{The Echo is an ability meant for dealing with enemies who have a high defense}
{Warning: Shields do not block all damage. If the opponents strength far exceeds the player's strength or if the shield's durability is weak it will not work}
{Strength has reached 500}
{New ability learned: Field of strength}
{Field of strength: All allies will have their strength stat increased by 100%. Nearby enemies will have their strength stat reduced by 50%. This only works if the enemy has a lower or equal strength stat to the player}
{Dexterity stat has reached 300: Skill evolved}
{Absolute shot: → Perfect aim: Range and accuracy have increased by 300% for three shots every hour: 1 hour cooldown: Decrease cooldown skills cannot affect it}
{Mind stat has reached 300}
{Mana regen has increased to 300% and now when regenerating mana it takes half the time to recover it}
{Example: Mana will recover every sixty seconds, now it takes thirty seconds to recover mana}
There was an evil grin on Sky's face. Sacrificing these powerful slaves was one of the best ideas he's ever had. He couldn't help but clench his fists and punch the air a few times, he could feel immense strength coming from each punch.
The majority of them had stats in the hundreds, but the old man had two stats in the thousands, his speed and strength.
This made him long to have more people to sacrifice. If his ritual sacrifice ability continues to level up that means he can grow stronger. The one downside when he sacrifices someone is he cannot receive any exp or items but it was a small price to pay.
The other slaves quickly grabbed the corpse and threw him over the ocean. They were afraid that if they didn't work fast they would be next.
The majority of the stats he stole from the slaves were their speed. It was surprising when his speed stat reached 400 and it didn't give him a new ability. If he had the choice to pick which stat he'd steal from them it would be depending on their highest stat.
Everyone looked at Sky, not moving nor saying a word. The living slaves were huddled up together not daring to say anything.
"Jay, since you are a good cook, can you show our chef the new kitchen?"
"Sure, but I don't know where the kitchen is, Captain."
"Perfect time to explore Melody, that's the name of the ship, Melody."
Jay walked down the ship with the fishman slave.
Sky walked towards the other slaves. They were huddled and were leaning against the wall very much afraid of him.
Sky identified all of them. They all had decent personalities, had weak stats, and no talent.
"Who has the most cleaning experience here?" Sky asked.
All of the slaves looked at one slave, it was a middle aged woman and the oldest one in the group.
"I-I d-d-d-d-do, M-m-master!" The middle aged woman had trouble speaking due to how afraid she was.
"Hmm…" Sky looked at them without saying anything which made them even more afraid. They were deeply afraid of him and that they might die, which he considers a good thing.
"Jericho, show the slaves to the crew's quarters then tell them what they'll be doing. I feel that they'll listen to you better, and if they don't, tell me who is being disobedient and I'll take care of them." Sky smirked sinisterly at them as he took a few steps back.
"Yes, Sky." Jericho took one of the slaves' hands and led her to the part of the ship where she believes are the crew's quarters. The rest of the slaves followed her closely packed together believing it was safer to be with Jericho than with Sky.
"Jules, follow me to my quarters."
With a gulp Jules followed him into his room. She clenched onto her clothes expecting the worst.
Sky had never shown this side of him before she became his slave. Now she began to worry about her own safety. Jules began to think about the times she started to seduce him, and he knew what she was doing, but he never attempted to sacrifice her like the other slaves despite her stats being much higher than theirs.
Sky opened the room. It was a large room with a wooden chair, wooden table, and a bed with no mattress that were already bolted to the room floors. There was not much detail added to the room apart from the small window on the side of the room.
"This is already bigger than the old ship. I like it. I just needed a mattress, and I did not buy any. Oh well, next time."
"Master… what do you want me to do?" Jules asked hesitantly.
"Oh, right. I don't trust the other slaves with this job, so your job is obviously making potions, but also taking good care of this. You were doing a good job last time so I'm leaving the job to you again." Sky placed down the gold gently.
Jules nodded.
"You're not gonna kill me like you did with the others?"
"What? No! You're too valuable for that."
Jules let out a sigh of relief. She believed him because he had no reason to lie. If he commanded it she would be unable to resist him taking her life.
"Also you don't have to clean up our mess anymore."
"Really?" Jules was happy to hear that.
"Of course, not only do we have the numbers I have a better job for you: you will accompany us to the dungeons from now on, but instead of clearing the dungeons your job is to pin down the monsters for me.
"Oh… I have one question."
"What?"
"I know when you say dungeons you mean portals, but why do you call them that?"
"I don't know." Sky shrugged his shoulders. He could always refer to them as portals instead and nobody would know or care.
But calling them dungeons sounds better to him.
"I see."
'Well that's still better than cleaning I guess.' Jules thought. The one chore she hated most was washing dishes.
In fact everybody else in the crew hated washing dishes.
"Great, now that we have that out of the way, get yourself familiar with the ship and close the door on your way out."
"Yes, Master."
Jules left the room. Sky saw down and wiped the gold brick with a cloth.
{The gold sentient brick likes the new room}
{10,000+ shells will be produced}
{210,000 shells are being produced every 24 hours}
Sky placed the cloth on top of the gold sentient brick to cover it from dust and it also likes the dark.
'About thirty hours left till the purple dungeon opens. I must get stronger, but in the meantime… curse of weakness, healing, strength, this is boring as well, how much longer till the skills evolve? Whatever, blindness, hearing, touch, dispel.'
{Arrived at destination}
After forty minutes Sky stopped practicing in the meantime. Exiting his room he saw a portal and they were close to entering.
"Let's go." Jericho was ready to go.
"Jay, I want you to stay back this time."
"What did you say, Captain?" Jay asked.
"I need somebody to stay here in case something happens, especialy the slaves. So do call me if something does happen."
"Aye, Captain." Jay put down his weapon and sat down on the boat. He really did like the new boat.
They entered the portal and it was the swamp portal. This portal was their least favorite, especially Jules' because they always get covered in mud and make a mess in their ship.
"Jericho, Jules, with me."
Three of them jumped from their boat landing on the mud. They walked on foot through the fog.
A strong gust of wind cleared the entire foggy area revealing all the monsters and the environment. Sky always used his wind ability to clear out the mist as it was easier.
Five alligator men immediately ran towards Sky with weapons in hand.
"Jules, you weren't here for this, but jump when Jericho jumps."
"Master?"
"Oh, boy, here we go again." Jericho said already knew what was going to happen.
The fierce monsters immediately stopped as their feet were now frozen to the ground. The entire area was covered in a thick layer of ice and they were trapped in place..
Both Jericho and Jules jumped up high to avoid having their feet frozen. Jules had seen Sky's cryokinesis before but it never failed to amaze it. In a second it felt like the inside of a freezer.
"Jules, help me pin them down and do not kill them."
"Yes, Master."
"Wait, Sky, you can use that ability on monsters as well?" Jericho asked in amazement.
Sky never told them what the ritual sacrifice ability actually does, but it was obvious from a glance that Sky absorbs their stats but kills them in return.
"We're about to find out.
Sky grabbed the neck of one of the alligator men and threw him to the ground, hitting the hard floor covered in ice, getting shattered in the process. The alligator did not break free from the ice, his legs had bent unnaturally as Sky forced him.
He was in incredible pain but Sky soon covered his entire body in ice barely killing enough and weakening him enough to.use the spell on him.
An alligator's highest stats are their strength, averaging around 240/250 whereas the majority of their other stats were between 40-120.
To Sky these were not meager stats, if anything it was as if he had a bunch of scrolls in front of him, not to mention that the higher his ritual sacrifice skill was the more stats he can steal from anyone.
"Ritual sacrifice."
The black pentagon appeared underneath the alligator. And soon it was dead as tiny light particles flew from its body and entered Sky.
Everyone present was shocked to see that it actually worked on a monster, especially Jules because this ability of his was familiar to the Nightmare blade.
{Received 13 intelligence}
{Int: 371}
{Mana: 7505/7505}
'Funny. To think there was a time where I thought of these guys as powerful.' Sky thought.
"Next one."
Five minutes later…
All the alligators present were dead.
{Received: 36 vigor}
{VIg: 427}
{HP: 14,990/14,990}
{Received 12 Mind}
{Mind: 402}
{Received 72 strength}
{Str: 613}
{Received 25 dex}
{Dex: 520}
{Dex has reached 500}
{New skill unlocked}
{Skill cooldown is reduced to 80%. Aim has increased to 80%}
{New skill learned: Critical hit}
{Critical chance and damage is increased by 100% for three strikes: 1 hour cooldown (reduced cooldown effect does not affect it)}
{New skill learned: Greed}
{Greed: For one hour all drops from mobs will double, exp included. 8 hour cooldown)
{Note: Not to be confused with greedy adventurer}
Sky smiled. He thought that after reaching three hundred he would stop getting benefits from the stats, he was glad to see he was wrong.
"Oh, we are doing this. Let's keep going." Sky said. There were more monsters here that he could sacrifice."
Jules and Jericho looked at each other before following him deeper into the dungeon.
Along the way Sky did not spare any alligator in sight, not even the swamp monsters were spared despite their bodies being made mostly of mud. Sky would freeze their bodies and sacrifice them that way and it worked.
{Received 12 speed}
{Spd: 510}
{Speed has reached 500. New skill learned}
{Super speed → Super speed V2: 100% chance of activating when fighting an enemy. Increases speed by 100% for 1 minute}
{Water walker: Able to walk, stand, and run on water}
It didn't seem much but super speed V2 meant that Sky would always be twice as fast than he is when fighting an opponent without having to rely on luck to activate.
"System, I can already fly, what's the point of walking on water at this point?"
{It doesn't consume mana when standing on water. But most importantly It makes you look cool}
"Oh… hm. I cannot argue with that."
"Sky, I have a question." Jericho asked.
"What is it?"
"Is it possible to use that ability on bosses?"
Sky was about to say no when he thought about it. It never specified it couldn't be used on bosses.
"I like the way you think, Jericho." Sky ruffled Jericho's hair who had a pleased look on her eyes.
Sky was eager to try it out on a boss, the most powerful being in the dungeon is obviously the boss, and if he could steal their stats as well then it was only a matter of time before he became stronger.
'Oh man I wish I could steal the boss's vigor. Every time I killed it it always had over 1,200 vigor. Hm?'
On the way Sky sensed some air coming out of the ground. The air coming out was barely noticeable by him. But he knew what it was.
Walking towards the area he dug the ground with his hands revealing a large hole beneath the floor in front of them. There they saw stairs leading down to a hallway that would lead them underground.
{Discovered secret boss room}
Sky already knew what it was. They had always skipped over this boss fight because he was afraid one of his crew members would die.
"What?" Jules was confused. She had never seen a secret boss room before.
"Jericho, stay back here. Jules and I will take care of this."
"What?" Jules looked at Sky.
"If you say so. I'm heading back to the ship." Jericho did not feel like clearing a secret boss room with Sky.
Sky entered the hall with Jules following closely behind him. It was a three minute walk before they saw the secret boss door room. The boss room showed the carved image of a giant butterfly that covered the entire door.
Sky opened the door. To their surprise they saw something unexpected. They were in a beautiful field of grass. The sky was blue and sunny, the area was absolutely perfect and calm.
The area did not look like a room but a new world. It did not seem like there was any end to the room, one could travel for miles ahead without seeing an end.
The one thing that was out of place was the giant boss room door in the field. It was just a door in the middle of a green and beautiful land.
"What is this, Master?" Jules was surprised to see a place like this in a red portal.
"A secret room. All I know is that this place is tougher than a red dungeon boss, but weaker than a purple dungeon boss."
Then Sky could sense something above them. It was a giant butterfly flying circles around them from high above. It was spewing some sort of green dust that was about to touch him.
'Identify.'
{Valiant Butterfly}
{HP: 19,100/19,100}
{Mana: 4,500/4,500}
{Str: 1,000 Dex: 1,000 Spd: 3,000 Int: 900 Mind: 900 Vig: 1,900}
{Paralytic gust lvl 5: Shoots a strong gust from its winds that also shoots out poison that paralyzes its does}
{Sunny body: When exposed to the sun 1% of total HP will be recovered every minute}
{Super dash: lvl 9: 90% faster for 1 hour}
{Clone: lvl 9: Can make 9 copies of itself}
{Personality: Unknown}
{Loot drops: 1,2m shells, 800,000 exp, poisonous bow}
{Poisonous bow: Red+: A bow that converts normal arrows to poisonous arrows}
'So his speed is his highest stat. At least it used to be. Sloth.'
{Target has been slowed down by 70%}
In short, his amazon 3,000 speed has been reduced to 900, still very fast compared to Sky and Jules who was also slowed down.
The butterfly felt extremely heavy.
Sky quickly cleared the poison the boss had produced with his wind ability.
'Weakness, strength, healing…'
{Curse of strength: lvl 9; Lowers target damage dealt by 45%}
{Curse of weakness: lvl 9: Target receives 45% more damage}
{Curse of blindness: lvl 9: Target's vision is 45% lower
{Curse of hearing: lvl 9: Target's hearing is 45% lower}
{Curse of touch: lvl 9: Target's ability to handle objects is lowered by 45%}
{Curse of healing: lvl 9: Target receives 45% less healing}
{Curse of speaking: lvl 9: Target's ability to speak is lowered by 45%}
All his curse abilities had reached level nine including his dispel ability. The one curse he has yet to practice was the curse of death.
"Jules, take it down."
"Yes, Captain." Jules conjured ice tridents and threw them at the boss.
The boss stood no chance.
{Jules Mayfeather}
{HP: 30,100/30,100}
{Mana: 10,500/10,500}
{Str: 2,430 Dex: 1,666 Spd: 900 Int: 2,100 Mind: 804 Vig: 3,000}
Jules was much stronger than a secret boss in a red dungeon. This made Sky regret not bringing her to these secret bosses earlier because he decided to play it safe.
At the same time he was also happy he didn't take the risk because what if the boss was stronger than Jules?
The boss crashed to the ground bleeding green.
It flapped its wings as fast as it could to escape, but his wings shattered like glass when his entire body froze.
"Keep it in place. This is a boss so I am not sure if it'll work."
"Yes, Master." Jules pinned its head down.
Sky concentrated and used the ritual sacrifice skill on it.
{Ritual sacrifice timer commenced}
{12)
{11}
{10}
Because his dexterity stat increased so did his ability to decrease all skill cooldowns.
'Please be vigor or speed. Please be one of those two.' Sky prayed for some good luck.
In seconds the boss died. Sky did not receive any exp or items from it which was to be expected.
{Received 570 vigor}
{Vigor: 997}
{HP: 20,690/20,690}
"Finally! YES YES YES! Some good luck!" Sky was not only glad this ability worked on bosses but he got the boss's second highest stat.
"..." Jules stared at him not knowing what to say.
In front of the door a chest appeared.
"Oh, sweet." Sky thought since he sacrificed the boss he would not receive any other rewards, but the reward from clearing the boss room was a different reward.
'Greedy adventurer.'
This is the first time he had cleared a secret red dungeon boss room, meaning that the rewards must be generous.
{The next chest you find in a dungeon will have its loot doubled}
Sky opened the wooden chest.
{40,000,000 shells received, 2x dungeon escape stone, 2x player coupon, 4x, blue scrolls, 12x red scrolls}
"YES!" Sky jumped from excitement. This was much better than he expected.
The reason he received 40 million shells was simple. The original reward was 10,000,000, but was then doubled by his greedy adventurer ability, then doubled again by his gold sentient brick. Sky skimmed through the scrolls to see what he got.
"Let's go clear the alligator boss, Jules."
"Yes, Master."
"Also, here, use this."
Jules grabbed the item Sky handed her, it was a red scroll.
"Master?" Jules looked at him confused.
"I am only doing this because you are very helpful."
"Thank you."
She read the scroll to see what she got. It was a flying scroll.
