Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Cookies and Cake (2)

~Albus POV~

We three still continue to move forward towards deeper inside the Emerald Forest.

While the chances of Grimm are high the most sudden thing that is honestly surprising is the fact that we have more than likely met with more useful items in this world… Dust… and I mean a lot of them lying around.

Ruby and Nora seem to be enjoying the sudden Dust appearance in the area as I asked Ruby the resident firearms know it all some clues, "Uh… Ruby is it natural for Dust to spontaneously be spawned inside a forest? Or can they be found naturally in the forest?"

Ruby grabbed another crystalized Green Dust of Wind as she looked surprised as she explained to me about them, "No way Crystalized Dust! These are only naturally formed and carefully man-made condensed… Huh? Oh no, Albus. Dust is usually mined on the ground but… how did these Dust suddenly appear out of nowhere?"

I see…

Nora continues to grab more of the yellow Dust that it's the lightning variant of them as she happily grins at this, "Yipeee! These are yellow Dust these Lightning Dust can help mama become a real threat to my foes! And it will help out my team."

Hmm…

Remembering some facts and studying about Dust this is a really weird occurrence to happen?

As an energy source, Dust can be triggered by the Aura of Humans and Faunus. Because of this, one's Semblance can also affect it.

Dust is a source of energy in Remnant. The physical properties of Dust make it incredibly useful for a variety of purposes, particularly in the weapons of many characters in the series. It is known to make a distinctive "shimmering" sound passively and when in use.

The name "Dust" is implied to be a reference to the primordial state which mankind originally believed it was born from. As a natural resource, it is sometimes poetically referred to as "Nature's Wrath", or more prosaically as an energy propellant.

Dust can be found in two distinct states, crystalline and powdered. Dust, whether crystalline or powdered, is highly explosive.

For example, during the Dust store robbery, Roman Torchwick threw a crystal at Ruby Rose's feet and fired at it, causing a sizable explosion. The powdered form appears more volatile since something as innocuous as a sneeze is enough to detonate a cloud of Dust.

Some types of Dust are much rarer than others, such as Hard-Light Dust which is used for protective barriers and shields. According to some people, Atlas was the father of Hard-Light Dust.

But why are they now suddenly spawning… right here… conveniently…

*Smack*

I'm an idiot.

The two turned their heads towards me as I began to briefly explain the cause of this sudden appearance as I spoke, "I think it might've been my powers at work here. Think about it how lucky a scenario like this happens to any person. None. But how convenient is it for a video game character really?"

Their eyes widen to the same conclusion I have. All the sudden appearance of Dust was spawned nearby for me to literally pick up.

This literally reminds me of a certain alien game with more than 4 games I think.

While LUCK is used less in Gamer powers it's something incredibly useful even if most people don't notice it.

A good example would be the Luck-Luck fruit user in One Piece she stole so much good luck that the laws of probability were her ally for a time being. Now imagine like that, in reality, would be absolutely broken in this world.

And to make things good for me I can use LUCK in everyday life to help my chances of survival as well as help in life or death battle. Only LUCK can determine how one would survive such an outcome.

Luck in a fight is often a matter of life and death, in real life, movies, books, games, etc. One known example of this is the game character from Halo Master Chief. That busted man is known for being lucky to the point he finds just the weapon he needs for any situation nearby most of the time and his luck is so great, that it is practically a plot point.

Something I don't have but with my LUCK rising… it might as well be because of how much of a hidden stat it is. Why do you think most people in the world have a LUCK stat of only 1 in the world?

Because anymore would break said the balance of the world.

A good example of this is supernaturally good luck. This causes anything and everything to go their way, but only if there was a possibility of it going their way in the first place. It makes all of the possessor's endeavors succeed in a good way.

And such a thing is happening now since my powers of LUCK are very high that the probability of finding Dust inside a literal forest is more likely than a cave… although I'm not complaining about these free stones.

Shaking my head collecting some of them Dust I made sure to save some in my inventory as well as we go further ahead to hunt for some more Grimm. As we continue forward we finally see one that's pretty powerful actually.

<Observe>.

[Grimm]

Ursa Major Lv.65 (6500/6500 HP) (Status: Sleep)

Ok, how Lucky am I really to even meet a Grimm encounter that is completely defenseless like this in the middle of the Emerald Forest. I know Yang said this before my LUCK is plain bullshit with my Gamer powers.

Eyeing the Grimm I gave Ruby and Nora some time as I told them about the level they are surprised as I prepared to use the new skill I got. Appearing from underneath the Grimm of the Ursa Major was a crown-like symbol sigil underneath it colored dark similar to Glynda's sigil on her Glyphs.

<Dark Glyph>.

Eyes of surprise flashed at the two as I told them freely somewhat alarmed of the notice of my normal tone of voice before they realized what I did as I explained, "Something I learned from Glynda. I learned a Skill called <Glyphs> like Weiss but completely different. This is <Dark Glyph> it allows me to cause a status effect of the target becoming unable to sense where they are, however they can still feel the ground and sense what's happening to their body. I can keep this up so then… do you two need an invitation to attack?"

Smirking a bit the two pouted their cheeks as they began to rush towards the unconscious Grimm as it couldn't know it was a bad day for him as the girls began to rush it. I kept my distance providing support when needed in case something goes bad.

*SWOOSH*

*BAM*

*SPLAT*

The Grimm was easily startled at the sudden pain as its body has dedicated to it as the Ursa Major roared in pain but thanks to the effects of <Dark Glyph> it's still suffering from being blind as a bat.

The girls continued to attack more and more as the Grimm was hardly in a position to defend anymore as it struggles more and more till it finally subdues to its wounds and die in peace as I release a sigh of relief.

Sigh…

[You got 65 Exp]

[You got 5000 Lien]

[You got Light Dust]

[You got Skill Book: 'Aura Drain'!]

[LEVEL UP]

This went better than expected and with a level up to spare as well. And from the looks of things, I managed to get another Skill Book.

This one is called the 'Aura Drain' this might come in handy for me to use in the future against people. I suppose this is natural since Grimm has always had this skill but at least it's easier for me to use in the future.

Anyway, talking about leveling up though… I have about almost every stat near 50 points soon enough. Hmm…

Better to have the rest of my stats at 50 to receive the bonus effects for me to have for the time being. I can grind some more bonus stats as I need more time passive skills that I can use to boost my chances.

I'm weak now and better to waste them right now to get the bonus effects. With the remaining 36 bonus points, I began to put them in points that I get to 50 sooner and put the last remaining one in LUCK for extra good measure.

And… there. Now then Status.
