The man explained that the overworld races are unable to travel to the underworld that easily, but the church of sun has a special dimension portal from ancient times that connects straight to space next to the castle. Those adventurers that offend the church get put into the jail and before the execution are given an option of either dying or trying to survive the other world. The priests of the sun even promise huge rewards as long as one survived.
