The chamber that he stepped into was completely black with nothing really seen.
To Kyle that had no magic that would enable him to see through the darkness, such a simple trick was enough to make him unable to defend completely.
Kyle held both weapons, which meant holding the torch meant giving up on some of the power he stored.
Suddenly, large lighting strikes in the middle of the ravine from the roof. It hit some cubic device that fully consumed all the power of the lighting released, and started glowing. As it glowed, countless lights lit up all around the ravine.
The large lights eliminated a huge hall.
'Wow, this is grand. How is such a huge hall is hidden underground?' The hall was full of gold, yellow gems and black rock that looked like the gem as well. On the sides of the ravine, many statues of warriors holding multiple weapons were placed.
Suddenly music resounded. A piece of harp music, sweeter than anything that Kyle has ever heard, suddenly started playing. It only lasted for 10 seconds, but the effect was a total rejuvenation of Kyle's spirit. He felt as if he slept for 20 hours straight and fully recovered all of his qi.
As the sound ended, though, the hall changed completely. The lights still stayed on, but all the gold, as well as the statues, disappeared. Suddenly, strange creatures started to appear. They were made from stone with each of them having a yellow gem in someplace on their body. Some of them had armours, and some of them even had weapons.
They stayed there for an initial 1 second and later lifted up their heads and rushed at Kyle.
"I have prepared for this, come at me all you want" Kyle channelled qi into the [Excalibur's Small Brother], and the sharpness of the sword increased several folds. As the stone soldiers were waking up one at a time and as they came one at a time at Kyle, it was effortless for him to cut through them. The sword cut thought their heads and necks very easily as if slicing butter.
After Kyle has destroyed all the 100 soldiers, he was awaiting a bigger challenge, but what happened next really caught him off guard. Suddenly one of the soldiers that he killed stood up and rushed at Kyle.
He was not expecting this as he was certain that he killed the soldier.
The soldier now was fully recovered, and the destroyed stone fully was replaced with some of the lighting qi that seemed to be coming from the yellow stone that was positioned on its stomach.
Kyle realised that not only the soldier now came back from death; its stone structure was stronger, and it's attacks faster and more ruthless.
'How do I kill it if cutting off their heads is not an option?' Kyle pondered while studying the soldier and defending from the attacks.
'The yellow stone! If it acts as a power source, what will happen if I destroy it?' Kyle used wolf fang in one hand to deflect one of the strikes of the stone soldier and with the [Excalibur's Small Brother] attacked the yellow stone.
Usually, when the [Excalibur's Small Brother] was charged with qi, it would cut through anything, but here as it touched the yellow stone, it only managed to go halfway before stopping. The yellow stone sized and hashed as if it was being squeezed under a hammer.
Lighting, as well as pure yellow qi, started pouring from the gem the qi, instead of going into the air and disappearing like usual, went straight at Kyle's dantian, building up his energy as well as building up its lighting.
The lighting soul was happily spinning around its orb and absorbing all the energy it was getting. This feeling was truly amazing.
Kyle's biggest problem was that as the stone soldiers already were awake and were simply recovering from the initial strike, they started to attack in groups.
Kyle had no way to attack in the area of effect without overusing the Wave of Conviction. The amount of energy he needed to us was immense, and it was not worth it.
That is why Kyle was put into a defensive position, slowly being pushed to the ravine's back wall. Kyle still managed to attack and kill a couple of soldiers, but it was getting harder and harder. Kyle finally decided to use the Wave of Conviction.
After forcibly using it with 20 points, Kyle has already easily mastered the 10 point Wave of Conviction. It was the difficulty for him now as him using the 5 points when he just learnt the technique.
Once he started using it up, the process became much smoother.
With every defensive deflection, a wave of conviction would pierce the yellow stone. That energy gushed out from it would go straight into Kyle's dantian, recovering any qi that he spent.
This kept on going for at least 2 hours.
At the end, when the final soldier dropped with a pierced crystal, there was now a huge pile of rock bodies. Kyle's back was against the wall, and he was panting. 'This fight was so hard even though they had no chance. Fighting 1 versus 100 at a time definitely puts a strain on one's body.' Kyle was about to sit into meditation position to recover, but suddenly our of the pule of bodies, a rock soldier that was at least 3 times the size and full armour, rushed out. He had an axe in each hand and was rushing straight at Kyle.
Kyle had no way of retreating as he was already touching the back of the wall.
Kyle had to use his movement technique, Lighting Step to evade.
As he rotated qi into his legs and borrowed power from the lighting soul, he used the lighting step forcibly for the first time.
The soldier struck Kyle's body that appeared stationary for him, but instead of hitting Kyle, it hit rocks with terrifying force.
A large number of rocks flew everywhere, and Kyle that has already appeared behind was preparing to strike the warriors body. But as he again executed the Lighting Step to get closer to the warrior, the lighting qi as though attracted to the yellow stone passed into it.
Suddenly the warrior dropped to the ground dead, and a huge amount of lighting element, as well as qi, rushed into Kyle.
