Chapter 27: Chapter 27 - Dominion Technique’s combat and movement

Now the only thing left was to check the items that he got and to learn the new combat and movement techniques finally. Kyle wouldn't be able to face a truly powerful enemy without them.

Straight away, Kyle willed with his consciousness and appeared inside the white space inside the pearl. The Dominion Technique book was still floating in the air, inviting Kyle to browse through it. Before Kyle was only able to open the first 2 pages of the book, he subconsciously remembered Seng Lin's recording and how he said that the Dominion Technique had 19 layers. This manual was damaged and only included the first 10 layers, but as this technique would be envied even by the gods, it was more than enough.

Every layer built upon the one before it and it taught first the cultivation technique, followed by the combat technique and the last movement technique.

Right now, Kyle was on the first layer, and he has only got the cultivation technique.

Kyle came up to the book, 'Finally, I will be able to see the real powers of the Dominion Technique,' he was excited to learn how lucky he got.

Kyle stepped into the horse stance, closed his eyes, and started circulating all of his qi. As Kyle still didn't have a real way to use his qi, he had to resort to what he managed to figure out by himself. The increase was only around 20% of his body powers. As Kyle opened his eyes he with a roar started pulling the book open, he very easily opened the next page and while he still had power started to try to open the next page, but it wouldn't budge no matter how hard he tried.

'I think this is a safeguard to make sure that I utilise the technique to open the book so that I don't rush things too much…' Kyle was still happy that he was able to get his hands on the battle technique for now.

The page had a title.

[Wave of Conviction]

There also was a sign that was next to the name. It was a palm facing him with a thumb holding a round object that was shaped like a coin. This hand, even on-page had sparks coming off it signalling the amount of power that it represented. The most impressive thing that it was not printed in ink, but Kyle could feel, it was pure qi embedded into the book.

As Kyle touched the hand, the world changed again.

The same figure appeared, Seng Lin was standing in the forest and suddenly an arrow at unbelievable speed with fire on the tip rushed through the forest straight at Seng Lin's head. He was being attacked. Seng Lin, without even looking in that direction, caught the arrow in his hand. He looked in the direction where the arrow came from and closed his eyes. Azure energy started appearing in his hand. He then threw the palm just like in the book, and the azure energy started changing and becoming yellow and white colour and started rolling out and insane speed.

This casual palm strike caused ripples and everything where the energy went to evaporate. After the dust settled, he saw Seng Lin was still standing there holding the arrow in his hand. At the same time, the place where he threw the palm strike had no longer any trees or forest for that matter, it was a krater in size of at least 10 kilometres with everything evaporated.

As Kyle opened his eyes, he was stupefied but that power. Seng Lin clearly used around 1% or even less of his power, and he was able to evaporate the whole forest… How strong was he at his full strength?

Kyle was incredibly excited to learn this amazing technique. Kyle stood up and started practising. He first had to drive the azure qi to his palm, in the special points, so that he could feel his hand to tingle, once he has done that he had to strike out with the same palm and at the exact moment of the strike release the qi and detach it from his hand. With the azure qi without a link to the dantian, it would go wild and would turn into a chaotic mess that would usually disappear. Still, because of the pattern created on the palm, it would be controlled and annihilate everything.

Kyle right now didn't have enough practice to make sure that he can put his azure qi into the starting 5 spots on the palm, considering that the last level of Wave of Conviction asked him to put qi into a million tiny spots on to his palm he could imagine how long Kyle's path now was.

After around 10 hours of constant meditation and practice, Kyle was barely able to do a palm strike. The Wave of Conviction for him only travelled for around 2 metres and in a tiny straight line. Kyle still was ecstatic. 'Let's try this in the real world!' Kyle came up to the tree and used the Wave of Conviction. To his surprise, the tree got pierced straight through as if knife slicing through butter. The tree started cracking and nearly fell onto Kyle. "Wow!" He exclaimed. This was real power. He could use it to fight many enemies easily. Also, after reading the book, Kyle understood that the Wave of Conviction could even be used through the weapon and would cause different effect based on the shape and material of the weapon. Right now was not the time to experiment with it, so he put it to the back of his mind for now.

Now, Kyle could finally try opening the next page. With the same horse stance, Kyle striked with the Wave of Conviction at the book. Kyle was a little bit scared for the book if he could damage it just like the tree, but considering that Kyle didn't even have a chance to open the pages, he wouldn't be able to damage the book in any way.

As the white and yellow line touched the book, it started absorbing and glowing with energy. After a while, it hussed and flipped to the next page. There was a Lightning that was drawn. It was zipping through the sky, as Kyle touched the page, an unbelievable amount of knowledge started to appear in his mind.

As the Dominion Technique chose to be the best in everything, the movement technique was, of course, the fastest and the most profound out of any manual. The lighting was chaotic, to begin with, and no-one knew what direction it would go after it appeared in the sky. The only thing left after the lighting would be the after image that confused the onlookers more than seeing the actual path.

There was nothing faster than lighting, no matter how many technologies or powers one had. Lighting would catch up and strike them.

The most domineering of all lightings was the tribulation lightning. One that would appear before achieving immortality. The last step to the godhood, summoned all of the powers of the world to ascend. The technique was based on experiencing and observing tribulation lighting a trillion times. It allowed moving faster than anything, pierce through anything and to evade anything.

The technique was called [Lighting Step] the name was simple, but behind it was a great power.

With this description, Kyle gasped for air. That was simply unbelievable. If he could move like that, wouldn't he be able to travel through the whole continent in a matter of days? Considering the size of the world. It was unbelievable.

With great power, comes great requirements to practice such a technique. To even start practising, Kyle needed to get an affinity with the lighting element, and it has said that getting a lighting soul into his body would guarantee even greater and faster progress with the Lighting Step. The book suggested looking for strong beasts and slaughtering them and absorbing using qi their beats cores. The stronger the beast, the better their understanding of the elements would be, even including the lighting element.

Kyle knew that he had the 2 beast cores, but he didn't know what elements affinity they had if the lighting was not present in that beast cores he would have to think of something else.

The worst part is that for Kyle to access the next pages, he needed to demonstrate a Lighting Step in front of the book as well as to achieve Foundation Establishment stage. For that, he needed to fully master the first layer of Dominion Technique cultivation method. 'I am not even sure how long will it take for me to look for this lighting affinity and lighting soul; this means that I can't progress further? This is painful.' Kyle thought about it and then reconsidered, 'I can not be too greedy, I was already so lucky, I just will have to research for one. Maybe the lucky charm trait will prove useful once again!'

Chapter 28: Chapter 28 - Elements and Nature

Last were the items. The 2 energy crystals took up the most amount of space and were orange and purple in colour with energy swirling and moving inside. Now that he brought them out, they seemed to be hissing and hussing under the sky. Kyle straight away got the notifications to absorb the power through the system, but he now had a new memory part from Seng Lin.

It demonstrated that any beast core could be used to aid in building up a richer qi and rare cores would let one enhance their understanding of the attributes that beast was most profound in controlling.

As beasts were always living in the forests and in nature, their affinity with the elements was much closer. They were already born inside nature, and there was no white noise that put them astray. After the first day in the world, they slowly, but swiftly start building up their knowledge of the element. That is why beast cores of old and strong beasts could be used to improve the understanding of elements.

Also, the element itself could differ from a beast to the beast. There was a common pattern in the species, but lucky encounters happened to any being in the world of Game. Humans, elves, and dwarfs could get lucky and stumble upon treasure or legacy, but the same was true for the beasts. Some of them stumbled upon the treasure that would let them change or improve their affinity and so they would grow stronger and mutate away from the original species. That is how white snow wolfs, and poison lizards appeared. Their ancestor was a lucky beast that changed their element.

Kyle started with the purple crystal. He began to rotate his qi to try fully enveloping the crystal. This was the basic need in order to get insights from the core. If ones qi was not enough to fully envelop, or maybe one didn't have such a high control of their own qi, they wouldn't be able to achieve this.

As the last of qi closed up the beast core, Kyle felt extremely cold and sinister. As if someone was watching from behind him ready to assault him. As it turned out, this was coming from the beast core itself. The element that was inside was s shadow element—a direct descendant of the chaos, the original element of everything.

The shadow element was not very close to Kyle's heart as he was much more straightforward with high affinity to light element. This meant that the benefit that Kyle would get would be limited. Even still, understanding the basics and touching upon the concept was harmless and could enrich Kyles knowledge and broaden his horizon.

The beast core was telling him to become one with the shadow and blend into the world, but Kyle couldn't really understand how to do that. The idea was too far. After a brief moment, the beast core lost it's dark colour and became transparent. It then dropped on the ground empty.

Next was the ogre crystal. It was orange in power and could be of any element. In reality, Kyle was very disappointed. It was less the insights into the elements and more into the world. There was some general information about what ogre felt of nature.

The only thing relevant and interesting is that ogre considered everything to have a soul. Every single small grass and even a tree or a rock would have a soul. That was because inside that autumn forest, deep inside lived a race of treants, or in other words, living trees. They were ancient and extremely powerful.

Ogre stumbled upon them when going on a frenzy chasing a prey. He found a tree that was speaking and alive and was nearly killed for damaging other trees. That is how ogre understood that everything was placed in the world for a reason.

Kyle lost his connection to this crystal, and it dropped to the ground, also empty.

"Well, this was lacklustre. Two huge crystals and I barely got anything. I hoped that this orange crystal would have lighting insights. I really wish I could practice my Lightning Step…" Kyle was pondering on what he just learnt.

World of Game was fair to everything. Any object could become stronger. Just as beasts and humans were able to grow, trees and rocks were able to cultivate and grow as well. For them, it was of course, harder as when they are born, they would be extremely weak and susceptible to the influences from the outside. Their bodies couldn't even let them retaliate. This though, didn't mean that they didn't feel or think of anything. They simply couldn't show that.

After understanding this, Kyle felt bad for the trees he knocked down or cut while practising the Wave of Conviction technique, 'If an ogre got chased away by one of those trees, I wonder how powerful they actually are…'

Finally, Kyle was ready to see what those two beasts have dropped. There were around 100 remains from each of the beast. But by the system, they got reduced to 2 items.

The first item was a belt that was made out of bones and was radiating an orange glow. As soon as Kyle held it in his hand, he could feel some energy rush through him. It was the same orange energy that ogre had, and it strengthened his muscles, making him stronger. Kyle could feel that his already strong power, nearly doubled due to this belt.

The second item was a small tooth, the size of a needle. It was white in colour, but the end of it was black, and something green was constantly dripping from it. The effect stopped inside the storage space, but once Kyle took it out, it started dripping to the ground.

Kyle, at first, couldn't understand what it was. But once the tent under the liquid started melting Kyle rushed to put it into some random box he found and back into the storage. It was too dangerous to hold on. 'It is a poison relic that would constantly generate poison. Even though I have no use for it, it gotta sell really good once I get to a merchant guild.' Kyle thought to himself.

'This harvest was amazing, to say the least, now it is time to move out into the forest!'
