Chapter 10: Chapter 10 - Level 0
Kyle tried to group his body together to limit the amount of damage that he would get from slamming into the wall. The problem was that the space was too small and his speed from the bash was too fast.
As he hit the wall, he felt that his whole body was shaken and it felt as it was about to explode. His internal organs and the dantian shacked and started to internally bleed, causing Kyle's face to turn pale white and ugly with pain.
Kyle was in a miserable state right now, just awaiting his death by the hands of the lion as the bash was not something that he expected. The whirlpool as if knowing what was about to come started to swirl and minimise into a barely felt and visible whirlpool, but that did nothing. His whole body could barely move.
The beast in front of Kyle that was beaming with happiness and a sense of accomplishment, it roared.
'If I am going down, I am bringing you to the afterworld with me,' Kyle clenched the wolf fang dagger in his hand even tighter.
The beast was certain that the prey was his, and there was nothing he could do to resist. The lion went outside and to meet the leftovers of beats that were waiting in front of the cave. The lion was the king of the animals after all, and with an ear numbing roar it officially announced its victory.
While Lion passed back and forth, Kyles mind was busy with thinking of ways to survive. His whole body was bloody and with scars all over. He looked like a mess, and in reality, he could barely move at this point. Some of the blood vessels got raptured on his legs by Lion's claws, and his only option was to put everything into the last blow.
Kyle didn't give up just yet; he was looking for anything that he could kill in the cave as to get the last bit of energy that the system needed. The problem was that there was nothing in the cave. It was either that the Lion has driven everything away. Or it was that they were too scared to come close to him after what he did outside.
The Lion was finally ready to take his prize - this damn human that attacked and exterminated his subordinate beasts. In reality, Lion was happy that this human did so much damage to the beasts. The fact that Lion is going to kill this strong human will make every beast worship this Lion even more. The Lion was just about to pounce and finally kill Kyle, when out of nowhere, just from behind the lion, a wolf ran into the cave and pounced at Kyle. This took the Lion by surprise as usually, no-one would dare to take its prey.
After seeing the lion officially say that the human is down, the wolf closest to the entrance could still feel the energy inside pulsating. He wanted to get anything out of this encounter in exchange for all of his kinsmen being slaughtered. His instinct was to get the energy, so he rushed straight at it.
The wolfs pounce also took Kyle off guard who was only focusing on Lion's movements. This was a blessing in disguise for Kyle. 'This is the last energy that I needed to finish the whirlpool cycle!' What Kyle needed to do is just to survive the wolfs pounce and absorb the energy.
Once the wolf lept into the air, the whirlpool felt the energy coming from the beast and started to pulsate with joy and impatience, as if telling Kyle to get the energy as soon as possible.
The wolf was clearly very desperate, and he only went onto the attack without a thought of defence in this strike. Kyle made an unbelievable effort, and with bloodshot eyes, he rolled to the side. At the same time, after the end of the roll, he jumped onto the wolf, grabbing his fur with his hand, and with all strength, he started stabbing the dagger into the wolf as many times as he could, just to get the magical system notification.
After 10 stabs and no energy left, he finally saw it.
[ Do you want to absorb? ]

At this moment, Kyle wanted to cry in happiness. He was so desperate for it and staked everything on this last move. If the absorption didn't appear on time, he would have just died by the lion that has already started pouncing on him and the now-dead wolf.
[Yes]
Kyle had no power to press the interface, but after the key opened some door in him, he could concentrate on the command for the system to understand what it wanted. With the closed eyes, energy very swiftly started rolling into him. It was not a lot of energy from a single wolf, but all of the energy accumulated in the whirlpool up to this point got amplified by it.
The whirlpool span like crazy, making bizarre noise inside the Kyles dantian. It was as if the whirlpool was laughing with the kakaka noises.
'I just hope that all of this energy I provided for you was not for nothing, give me the strength to kill this Lion and I promise, I will get you even more, even purer energy!' Kyle needed power now, and after all of his efforts, he knew that he deserved it.
Ever since the time the pearl the size of the rice appeared, he didn't understand what it was for as it didn't allow any interaction with. Also, it took power instead of giving it back as dantians from the earth's light novels said. It was a total energy sink with no benefit.
Then at this moment, the whirlpool froze, and the sucking force from the pearl become incredibly strong, getting all of the energy that was accumulated. It was grey in colour at first, now it was turning to white, and at the last moment when the last of the energy got sucked in, it turned in to blinding azure colour.
[ Congratulations! ]

Kyle didn't understand what it meant, but he knew that it was better than dying. His body now was fully covered in white light as if a blanket of light has covered every single cell of his. Kyle just like the first time when he meditated got sucked into the white world, where he got the book and the key.
He now felt where he travelled with his consciousness. This was the azure pearl that he accumulated the energy for. This was the insides of the pearl itself.
There, instead of just a white plane of nothingness, there was a statue the size of a mountain Everest, at least 5 thousand metres high, of an unknown old man with a beard that dropping from the chin to the floor. His attire was of a simple robe that didn't seem too amazing. His hands were cooped under the robe that hid them. The only huge distinction that he had was that where his hands were cooped, an azure pearl was suspended, not touching the statue but rotation and giving away Azur energy bursts.
The voice suddenly resounded —

Chapter 11: Chapter 11 - Teacher
The voice suddenly resounded — "Kowtow to your new teacher 3 times. Then light the incense to destroy all of your prior beliefs. Then put flowers into the vase to apologise for everything you have done." The voice shook the whole world. It was clearly coming from either the statue or the rotating azure pearl.
The voice was immensely powerful, but every time it spoke, it put protection just in front of Kyle to not kill him.
Kyle looked around him again, and all of the named tools appeared. There were a bamboo mat, an incense burner and a vase with flowers to the side.
Considering that Kyle was not from Asia in his previous life, he didn't know what any of this meant. He only had a basic understanding from the novels. This caused his head to hurt. He started thinking, 'I just hope that I don't lose…' as his thoughts started rolling, he stopped himself and blanked them out. The Catter that met him was able to read his thoughts, which clearly showed what powerful beings could achieve in this world.
Kyle kowtowed, lit the incense and put the flower heads into the vase that was full of clear water. He bowed last time and walked away from this ritual area. Just as he stepped away, the area completely disappeared.
"Now, you can be considered my last direct disciple. In all my life, I have only accepted 8 direct disciples; they have long left this minor world and went to the universe. Now you are going to be the weakest of them all, the 9th disciple. You already got the manual as well as the dominion key. As this is the last soul shard that I have left in the world, I will be giving you 2 ultimate gifts: my will, my soul and my memory and this gods pearl. But let me warn you, if you misuse it, my other disciples will know about it and destroy you. Train hard and make the name of Lin spread once again. Do not disappoint me." Kyle could only listen to the large statue speaking.
As the teacher said the last words, the statue started breaking off, and instead of rocks falling down, white streaks of energy started falling and entering directly into Kyle's body. As the first petal touched him, Kyle could feel an amazing and comfortable feeling. It was as if he was soaking in the medicine, and his whole body is being moulded. All of his weaknesses from the marrows and meridians were corrected and expelled from the body. As soon as the black goo was driven outside of his body by the pores, it got destroyed by the white light as well.
The pearl was still sky-high in the sky, rotating in the way, making it seem as if it was controlling the white streaks.
Just before the last white petal of energy got absorbed, Kyle heard the voice of the teacher. "My name was, is and will be [Seng Lin], from now on Kyle, you should be called [Kyle Lin]" with that, Kyles consciousness blanked out, and he appeared back in the same cave.
The situation was the same as the last time. He just killed the wolf, and the Lion was pouncing at him. As Kyle could feel the overbearing strength like he never felt before, the Lion seemed to be awfully slow. It was as if it was leaping in slow motion. Even the sound of its roar was distorted and was slow. This caused a great surprise to Kyle. Instead of just waiting for the Lion to arrive, Kyle rushed straight at Lion, flanking him to the side and making a huge wound with the wolfs fang knife.
After the Lion finally arrived at his initial leap target, he couldn't believe its eyes. What Lion attacked and killed was an afterimage, and a real human was standing not far from him. What was even worse, that there was a huge and very hard to heal the wound on his side. He knew that the weapon in humans hand could be the only reason for this.
The lion had to give his all into this last strike, and so he pounced, again, straight at the human with the fastest speed he could muster.
'I will finish it now!' Kyle crouched and, with all of his power, went straight at Lion, running just below his leap and slicing open his belly, making all of the organs of the lion to spill out and eventually end his life. 'This is payback. I was sure of my death, and now I am sure that you are dead.' Kyle spat onto the body of the dead lion.
The wolf fang dagger in Kyle's hand, now soaked in Lion's blood, was fully blood red, with the jeans fabric now after soaking in blood being bloody red as well. There was a quick notification in front of Kyle.
[ [Wolfs Fang Dagger] is tempered by the fight and is able to evolve]

'I don't see the point of asking!' Kyle pressed [Yes] straight away, and the dagger started changing. Now it was fully painted red with both a guard and the handle appearing, as well as a more well-defined edge. The purple crystal now has occupied more of the top area of the dagger and was pulsating purple from time to time.
'If this has taught me anything, it is never to underestimate the enemy and always be prepared for anything' Kyle finally could breathe out.
If this were the old Kyle, without the power that [Seng Lin] given him, and without a level indicator, he would have died straight away. But after all the upgrades, Kyle knew that his life has changed.
'Just as I predicted I have evolved, I am not at the bottom of the food chain at this forest anymore! Maybe I can even go and explore other areas outside of this forest.' As soon as Kyle got excited, he calmed himself down. He needed to adjust to everything that has happened. Ever since he left from the cave, he was in a dire situation from dehydration, the whirlpool and the constant assault of the beasts. Only now he could breathe out.
Kyle walked out of the cave to see if there were any leftovers of the beasts, and what he saw made his jaw drop. He saw a huge pool of blood with many item types from the beasts lying on the floor. There were bones of different colours, differently sized purple and purple-red crystals, hides, fangs, claws. It was as if this was a garbage disposal area of monster drops!
Then suddenly, an image flashed into Kyle's eyes. He was in the middle of the beast tide, and while everything looked as if it was time stopped, Kyle was slaughtering everything and anything that he could possibly see, absorbing all of the energy he was able to get into the whirlpool. His eyes were blood red, and his whole body was soaked in blood. The murderous aura alone from this vision gave Kyle a shiver.
Now Kyle understood what has happened here. He had to get as much energy as he could that is why he did what he had too. He didn't spare anything here. The result was him surviving. ' It is either I survive, or you survive beasts. Next time don't expect me to go easy on you either.'
Kyle went to collect all of the items he needed immediately. 'Maybe I can craft more things with these items with the help of the system.' As soon as Kyle touched the first hide that was left on the ground, instead of it feeling it physically, the hide disappeared completely. Kyle got worried as these items would boost his chances of survival immensely. He then noticed that there was something inside of him that he could access. It was the same pearl that was collecting the energy with the whirlpool before, now it was the size of a big apple and was blindingly azure in colour.
As Kyles consciousness touched it, there were a couple of spaces he could access. One of them had exactly the hide that he just touched.
'Oh, so this is similar to the inventory someone would have in a game, I see. This room is 4 by 4 metres. I can manage to store most of the things lying on the floor here.' Kyle checked that he could get items from the space just as easy as he could put them there. As he wished the hide appeared in his hand. 'Sweet, let's collect the loot!'
